The Tagliarchy Mansion

Oh Danauk, you make me feel sooooo guilty. Had big plans to jump out of bed, get those chores done, grocery shop, go through a hugh pile of mail ,etc. etc. etc. Here I sit....on the DIS. Well, it takes a long time to catch up and do research when you can do it on weekends. Of course, it is still only 8:30AM here, I SUPPOSE I could sign off and get cracking and I am starting to get hungry for breakfast.

HEY, speaking of food I won't eat peanut butter.....LOVE peanuts, can't do peanut butter, go figure. Or anchovies, thank you very much. There is no reason on earth for low-carb pizza, some things should be sacred, and for us low-carb eaters, reserved for a special indulgence.

llebrekniT glad to see your 'vote' for Bietergarden as a TAGLIARCHY meeting place. I've envisioned all of us at those long tables, slamming down a brew (or two).

Hey everybody, there's a post on the CB about a WDW contest being done by 'The View" It's for 8 people, 4 day/3night trip, April 1-4, THIS YEAR, Magical Gathering deal. GO REGISTER. I figure, if I win, even if my loved ones can't do a last min. trip, I could find some members of the TAGLIARCHY to go! OH, don't mean to imply that you guys aren't 'loved ones'....you know what I ment, the people who'd kill me if I didn't ask them ;)

Cheeringmom, congrats to Sam...just saw your post when I was previewing this one. For you old west/can can question. Try looking for songs from stuff like Annie Get Your Gun, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (some great dance moves there) and Calamity Jane (it would be fun to rent those movies too!) Calamity Jane is my all time favorite Doris Day movie.

Thanks guys. disneyluvers
Did find swing street and the "can you can can". I'm such a visual learner. Have to see it!! It has to be time period -late 1890's. I sure wish I could get a hold of the Golden Horeshoe review video tape. That would get the brain moving. And thanks llebrekniT maybe watching an old musical may help.
I'm trying to find a blockbuster that carries the 1952 Moulin Rouge and Cole Porters Can Can. tough. And don't want to spend $25 a piece for the movies. Will keep searching. Thank you both for your help.

Morning.. back from the dentist... and doing laundry and waiting fro DS#1 to call from the merit badge clinic to go get him and then start the errands..

OKay..I don't have a good first date story but I have a how we met story..

A girl friend and I decided to go on a weekend ski trip. From Chi, one gets on a bus at 7 pm, they drive until 3 or 4 am, then you get to the ski place , sleep for a few hours ski until they close the lifts..party until 3 am, sleep a bit, ski from 9 am until 6 pm.. ride on the bus back to Chi.. arrive about 2 am or so.. go home.. and go to work..

Anyway..we had never done one of these bus trips but had heard that they were a huge party too.. So girl friend and I decided we wanted to go skiing. Signed up for the bus trip to go with a ski club that we didn't know.. She and I get on the bus at the appointed time with our sandwiches for dinner, 1 six pack of beer for both of us and a few diet cokes..

two guys sit in front of us.. we start chatting.. eat sandwiches.. one of the guys in front of us is sort of the ring leader of the bus.. getting everyone to sing songs and do funny stuff, turns out he was the ski club president and a ski instructor, ski patrol... plus he and his buddy have 2 suitcases of beer..
our beer runs out.. the guys in front have more than enough.. and they are friendly and share their beer..

we keep chatting with them.. then my girl frirnd goes to talk with some other guys... his buddy does too.. So it was just me and the leader of the ski club..

we were married a year later..

ohanafamily : that's just one of many stories DBF and I have in the year and a half we've been dating. But we've been friends for 3 years now and we have as strong a bond still:)

Hi everybody! It's been kind of a busy day today, mainly just because everybody is home. Also because, guess what - Holly finally got the Ella bug........

So I just have a quick minute and then I'm back to nursing duties.

Congrats to Sam! I bet you're bursting with pride Cheeringmom.

AZCathy, can't you take one of those chairs that pop open? That's what we do, well used to do. Now that I have Ella, I just take a big blanket to sit and play on. The bleachers are back killers and standing does not sound like something you need to be doing.

Love all the first date stories, I'll share mine.

DH and I had been friends for months. He had a big crush on me before I even knew who he was. I felt bad, but I had to let it be known that I was not interested in him that way once I found out. We became telephone buddies and would talk on the phone for hours.

After school let out for summer, about 3 weeks went by since I had seen him and I started missing him in a weird way. I think I kind of asked him out. I told him I really wanted to go the fair but I didn't have a ride.;) So he picked me up at my friend's house, then we went and picked up his friend Leon, who had no money, so he rode in the truck so he didn't have to pay to get in.

We got rid of Leon and just spent the night walking around, he tried to win me stuff, and we just talked and talked and I could actually feel myself falling in love. He had no idea my feelings were changing, yet.

It's a really great memory, makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. We were such good friends before we started dating, and as others have noticed, I think it's a good way to start.

It will be 20 years June 19th since that date at the fair.

Gotta run! Have a great weekend everybody!

OOPS sorry ibouncetoo, I copied TINKBACKWARDS name and not yours. Oh I bad. I'm still not very good at the color wheel thingie. Just got back from Blockbuster and they did not have one of the musicals you mentioned. They didn't even have Victor/Victoria. I couldn't believe it. So I'm going to the library and see what I can find there. Thanks for the info though. I love musicals and will be sure to find something Sam can use. Off to the library. Again sorry for the boo boo!!

I bet they had WONKA BARS though, did you get one?

ohanafamily wait for the HDTV, they will be going down in price substantially in about 6mos. Ok, but you need to get going on the weight then. Sorry, I am acting as if I am a Dr.....but, we care about you. Make a plan and do it for your life!::yes::
Kismetdreams you must be beside yourself with excitement. I don't know how you are managing, but I bet you are one very happy young lady!!!
Deadheadbelle just some more similarities huh? We met in Sept/Oct 1996 and married on July 26th, 1997. We used to sit outside the bowling alley talking until 2-4am for about 2 months before there was any kiss or further movement in the relationship. We wanted to make sure we could stand each other as friends before progressing. ;)
Hi lurkers, Majestic and Mad4Mickey.
ibouncetoo I went to register, but could not find it. Could you put a link for it here? If I win, DH and I and a bunch of you all are gonna have a great time. I PROMISE!!!!

unmarried but been involved with DBf for a year and a half now,it'll be 2 years in August

Wow! I must be psychic. I'm not going back over my posts to see what I wrote so I'll just answer. My DH was in the army stationed at the War College (Carlisle PA)
1029.gif
and I was having my apt. de-roached.
16_7_204.gif
Since I couldn't stay there for a couple days a woman I was working with invited me to stay off post in their apt. Her DH was Sgt. at the MP barracks (the army's police guys) and as I found out later she liked to make blind dates for the newbies. The first night I got there she asked me if I would mind her inviting a private to dinner.
12_12_5.gif
Well, I was dating a fellow but he and I weren't exactly getting along so I said sure. The next day as we drove into the parking lot all I saw was the back of this gorgeous dark haired guy carrying a case of Bud
12_4_2.gif
up the steps to the apt. Hubba Hubba... My friend's daughter was sick that night so I helped out with the cooking. My future DH even had the nerve to argue with me about how I was doing things! My opinion of him kept flip flopping through the evening but after dinner we ended up talking for hours. We didn't kiss until about 3:30AM.
212.gif
He was still there when my friend's DH (the sgt) alarm clock went off at 4 and then when it went off again at 4:30.
12_1_100.gif
The very next morning I called the guy I had been dating and broke up with him. My future DH and I saw each other everyday after that. 28 days later we were married.
11_1_111.gif
We have 2 boys and have been married for 12 years. (It'll be 13yrs. this May 25).

disneyluvers, I'm from Boiling Springs! Right next door to the Barracks. I love your meeting story...28 days of dating and married 13 years...YAY for you!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Just thought I would drop by to check out the fruit selection

Kismetdreams I loved the area. In about 30 minutes we could be in Harrisburg with the museums and *malls* (I loved those) or we could go to Chocolate World and get free samples. After DH got discharged we lived in Newville. It was nice and quiet and so small that we got to know most everyone there. Ahhhhh those were the days.
