Hi everybody! Thanks for the CEREAL
Cheeringmom, but I just had a yummy Krispy Kremes chocolate glazed crueller (out of the box). I'm full of caffiene and sugar!
Thanks to everyone who sent me PD. I think the steam rolling out of my ears deflected some of it though. Here's how my night wrapped up. (Sorry this got long, but it feels good to put it all down.)
1. DH came home and went straight to the tub to soak.
2. Daniel came home with his GIANT presentation board for the Science Fair and said he needed a graph and chart to put on it. Told me this just as I was beginning to fix dinner.
3. Cooked dinner with Ella wrapped around my leg. Holly tried her best to keep her happy and entertained. Holly is my own personal angel sent down from heaven.
4. Daniel came in and out of the kitchen while I was cooking with my 24 pound baby attached to my leg asking questions on how to do the chart on our hunk-of-junk computer that doesn't have a program that does either a chart or graph.
5. DH took a phone call just as I was putting dinner on the table. He knows that annoys me, so I served his up knowing it would get nice and cold that way.
6. During dinner Holly told DH about how Pa forgot about her today. I corrected her that Grandma was supposed to call and let me know I needed to pick her up. She said "It's
always the mommy's fault somehow" and rolled her eyes. This child is sooo insightful. DH, knew by then that I was more ticked at him than he was (wrongfully) ticked at me. So he quipped "You got that right" to which Holly said "But you know, it never
really is the mommy's fault." So perfectly spoken, so wise. Did I tell you she's only 6?
7. At that point we had a very calm discussion about how this whole incident played out. It was light-hearted and casual, I will not have an argument in front of my babies. As
Deadheadbelle, pointed out, DH is like his father and also The Fonz, he can't say he was wrrrrrrrr (wrong). But I know when he knows that he is, and I've learned to let that be good enough for me. I feel I will be qualified for sainthood when I leave this life. He looked like a dog with his tail tucked between his legs and he was ready to be helpful. Started clearing away the dinner dishes.
8. After dinner, we started right in on the presentation board, which DH readily helped with. Guilt is such a wonderful thing.
9. Gave the girls their baths.
10. Worked some more on the presentation board.
11. Came thisclose to throwing the presentation board and the whole science experiment out the window.
12. Got to the point where I actually told Daniel "I'm very proud of the work you've done on this project. You've done everything up til now all by yourself. There are things that your teacher is asking for that cannot be done by you. (He told me that many of his friends parents did the charts and graphs for their kids.) I told him I would write him a note explaining that we don't have the right program to easily pop out a chart and graph and if it can't be done at school his won't have one. I told him not to worry about the grade, as far as I'm concerned he did a wonderful job. He said he just wants this thing over with so he can go back to his regular life.
13. Put Daniel and Holly to bed.
14. Ella had her first cup of milk in 48 hours that morning. She kept it down all day so I fixed her a cup of milk before she went to bed. She drank it down, babbled a little baby talk with me and then puked all over me.
15. Cleaned her and me up and went to bed.
Thanks guys, I feel great now!
