Sheesh....how did I miss all these posts?? I thought I had checked all my post notifications! Well, I have been LITERALLY BEGGING on the threads to get a TAG FAIRY attention over this way....to no avail! **sigh**

I don't know what else to do....the community board seems to be the TAG FAIRY hang out!!

I am sorry to hear about your house being hit by the 'bug'! I went and got my flu shot over a month ago and then had trouble getting the teens in to get one....they have a more social life than I do! The health department ran out and I made an appointment with a dr office and they sold our shots to someone and then called and cancelled our appt! (Money is money, after all!)

Tried another clinic and got the kids in for their shots yesterday. DH is a germ-aphobe so he won't get shots...but he doesn't get that sick, either.

I got so sick from a virus last Spring that I was in that "high risk" category for getting a flu shot. I am still being treated for the asthma the virus left behind!

The high school has a new stricter policy about missing school. If the boys miss more than 2 days a semester, I think, they have to take finals. If they don't miss those 2 days, they don't have to take the final tests. Oldest DS is a senior this year and he is determined not to have the stress of finals so he will not miss school for anything!! Which is going to cause a problem down the road sometime this school year, I am sure!!

Get lots of rest and drink lots of fluids so you can bounce back right away! You have to really focus on yourself when you get sick and you have kids at home, IMHO!

i have not received any messages to all the threads i am on, even this one.

by chance, i went and clicked on the last message from this thread and see quite a few postings i never received. something up wiht the dis boards?

I saw a thread on the CB that other people were having trouble with the email notifications, too. I got a notice about this board the other day but I have not gotten anything lately. I just checked in this morning to see where everybody was if they weren't hangin' around here!

I have been having bipolar fun on the CB....maybe I should just stay here for awhile....might be safer!

Thanks for the good wishes...still feeling crappy - to put it indelicately...but, time to get back to the grind (we are leaving for trip on the 10th)Woo-Hoo!

Spent 6 hours tackeling the mound of Xmas presents that were staring @ me, still a table-full to go (and shopping yet, too!) I've been ordering alot on-line today. Don't mind buying presents - sure hate the whole wrapping part though.

mtblujeans - if my kids attended your school district, we'd be sunk for sure.

macraven - I've been fishing for the Fairy on the tech board, can't even scrounge up a tag there...now, I'm a Geekie Tagless DIS'er.

I think I opted out of the email notifications - just what I need, more incentive to goof off here.

No....I haven't be diagnosed bipolar....my sense of humor just makes me seem bipolar! I think I really made Duckfan mad....but, he's a guy and he'll get over it!

What I really need is a couple of good stiff drinks - that'll knock whatever's wrong out of me.

Was telling my kids that in the dark ages when I was a child, the family doctor routinely prescribed a big shot of something called "Rock-N-Rye". Not sure if it cured you or just knocked us out...outta sight, outta mind.

I've been called a lot of things...never bipolar - they usually use psycho.

That would be REALLY nice for you!! How do you like having a Christmas birthday? When I was a kid, any kids I knew whose BDs were on Christmas didn't really like it....

Yeah, my DH is always recalling how they used to "knock out the germs" by having a stiff belt on the farm, too! The kids think he is kidding but I know he is not.

I am more of a "cafeteria" catholic-I pick & choose what doctrine I believe in...although my boys were/are altar boys, etc. I've often said the fear of god is the main thing that keeps them on the straight & narrow.
