Dr. didn't mention a correlation, but my DS did have it when he was 14. At that time he was really sick, took a long time to recover, seemed to sleep all the time. I recall there was concern about his spleen too (can't remember exactly). He's had quite a few odd thing happen to him:
*@ little league game holding a chain-link fence that was hit by lightning - no permanent damage except altered brain waves LOL;
*hit from behind while riding bike by hit-n-run driver (was found unconcious with mangled bike in street by passer-by);
*passenger in car that rolled over several times (nothing like that call from the hospital, that your child's been transported);
*worst - hit during a football game & temporarily paralyzed for a few hours (think I aged 10 years in 3 hours).
Truly worry for him - told him he's running out of his 9 lives, not sure if he's accident prone or not; but I think he's lucky.
