The Sweet Meet - Dis'ers do Hershey

Bill glad to hear you and Jennifer are trying to make the trip. :thumbsup2 Too bad about Comfort Suites but what Don or Anne mentions sounds good.

Andrea great catch on the chairs. We have a bunch of bag chairs we will bring to share.

What is a good time to meet for Saturday breakfast? Any idea when it starts? I need to beat Lunny to the bagels because there will be none left. ;)

I have no clue when parking opens at the park. I'm thinking we plan to leave hotels no later than 9am and be ready to enter the park at opening. So maybe we start breakfast in shifts at 7:00 :confused3

Maybe we should alert the hotel to stock up on the breakfast items that weekend
7am sounds about right and leaving the hotel at 9am sounds good too. By the time we get to the park, park the car, and assemble we should be right on time or a little early for the park opening. I was surprised to see the park opened at 10am... Us Disney vets are used to 8am or 9am openings!

It has been a while since we have been there but I recall parking not as massive as Disney but major lines to buy tickets at the gates. Also I recall getting into the front of the park before open but being held in that area until actual open time but no opening ceremony.

I was thinking the same thing Andrea. 10AM!?!?!?! By 10AM, I've been on TSM three times and have a Fast Pass in hand.

Two more weeks.....................:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

Good to know Anne, I still say this group is going to be anxious and want to get there as early as possible ;). I think it may be a good idea for those who don't have tickets and don't want to wait in a long line, to purchase them online with the coupon code. It may be a VERY busy weekend due to the concert and the fact that it is a Saturday.

Everything is falling into place, just need to pray for good weather now!

This statement is very accurate. I got there an hour before they opened and while I was way in the front, there were still a lot of people in front of me.

Seriously Bill?????????????

I hope it works. Dodie and would love to see you and Jennifer before the cruise.

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Thanks Kathy, we would love to see y'all as well! We miss our DIS friends.

Bill glad to hear you and Jennifer are trying to make the trip. :thumbsup2

Thanks George! :goodvibes We are trying to live on a shoestring budget so we can swing this. :thumbsup2 It's looking more and more like this is going to happen especially given how generous folks have been. :goodvibes

I had to finally let Jennifer know today as a friend of hers wanted to come into town that weekend. She is super excited so there's no way I can say "no" now is there?

Looking at all these directions and maps make me happy this adventure is close to home.

:woohoo:

I just found out my Mom is visiting my brother in DC on this weekend and wants up to come at the same time. There is a chance, however very small, that we might be in the area and can take a day trip to Hershey! Keep your fingers crossed.

:woohoo:

Holy Moly:scared1:

so much has happened!!!!

Greg - are you checking this out????

Holy cow! Leave this thread alone for a couple of days and you guys go crazy! Don's family?!!! Bill and Jen's family?!!! This is going to be AWESOME!!!!

Hey Everyone! :wave2:

Is anyone staying at a hotel other than the Comfort Suites? I have been trying to suprise Jennifer and the kids with this trip but it appears I am too late to the game. The hotel is sold out and I missed all of the free ticket promotions. :( I guess I waited too long to book things but I have been trying to find a way to make this cross-country excursion work (3000 mile round trip). I have found a couple of hotels in the Harrisburg area that may work, but I would hate to be the only ones staying "off-site". Any ideas? :confused3

- Bill

And I thought our 1,600 - 1,700 mile trip was a lot. :confused3 Guess NOT:worship:

They might need some BIG Trash cans around the pool area too... Just sayin... I'm not sure it's possible but we might want to take it just a little slow Friday night :drinking1 since Saturday morning maybe filled with coasters:woohoo:... I know I'm just a little concern how my body might react:rotfl2:

Dodie.... that is what I was thinking... more like 12 hours... and I had to read 5+ pages to get caught.

Louise is out picking up plastic cups and plastic wine glasses now... will add chairs to my list...

Just reading through getting caught up with everyones plans. I don't think I will make it but you never know last minute.

You might want to check PA's website but I think there is still serious construction going on 81. I don't known what they are doing on 81 but they have been busy for years.

 C'mon now Anne. You were one of my very first DIS buddys. You need to go. It's right in your back yard. ::yes::

Hopefully someone will bring me a chair. ;) I'm not carrying on a lawnchair as checked luggage from Indianapolis.

I just checked out google maps for the drive..... 84.5 miles. :teeth:

Show off :cutie:

Our drive isn't bad either, 3 1/2 hours is nothing compared to all the others!

Hopefully someone will bring me a chair. ;) I'm not carrying on a lawnchair as checked luggage from Indianapolis.

Why not? It can double as your seat on the plane! I'm sure you'll be covered.

Ok, its a done deal, I'm coming on Saturday! We are going to drive in from DC. What time does the park open and any plans for Saturday I should know about? If anyone can send me some coupons I would greatly appreciate it. I'm pretty excited! Among other things, I really love Hershey Park. See everyone soon!!

So glad you'll be able to come! I guess you have 2 choices for tickets, I'll gladly send you some coupons in the mail, or you could take George up on his offer and use the concert tickets to get the discounted admission tickets. It is up to you.

The park opens at 10am on Saturday morning, and I believe the plan is to leave our hotel around 9am to get there in plenty of time for "rope drop", I'm sure we can meet up with you in the parking lot or before we get into the park. From there, I would think that most people are going to disperse into smaller groups into the park for the rest of the day, depending on what their priorities are.

Well if Jorge has a good deal for me than I'm all over it like white on rice :) What are the details for those tickets and why are you not using them George? Do you have 5? I'll need 5 tickets and a possible total of 8 tickets.

Thanks guys, can't wait to see everyone!!

Well, I'm no Senor Jorge, but, I think I can answer some questions for you. Long story short, he purchased 4 Jonas Brothers concert tickets to take advantage of the discounted park tickets. He has since gotten the free tickets from Chevy and doesn't need the concert tickets. If my memory is correct, all you have to do is show the concert ticket on Saturday morning when purchasing park tickets, and you pay a discounted price of $34? or so (which is a significant savings off adult tickets) for park admission for Saturday. Since you need more than 4 tickets, you could then just use the paper coupon that takes off $8/ticket for the remaining tickets that you would need........clear as mud, right???
