The Sweet Meet - Dis'ers do Hershey

Let's say in the park because Deb don't do coasters unless it's one you put a drink on. :rotfl:

My grandson Alan will do the coasters with me except for loops and inversions. Then I'll need a coaster wife. :lovestruc

I'm hungry again. Thanks Jen. :)

Today, we just realized how close to Gettysburg we will be. We have to see it... so we are going to be stopping there Thursday on our way in. Since it looks like we will have less than 4 hours to be there we are going hire a Licensed Battlefield Guide. Anyone ever done this and what did you think of it?

"We recommend taking a tour with a Licensed Battlefield Guide who will go with you in your personal vehicle and show you the highlights of the battlefield as well as answer any questions you may have." from http://www.nps.gov/gett/planyourvisit/things2do.htm

Licensed Battlefield Guide Fees:
1-6 people= $55.00 (Total plus gratuities)

If anyone else want to join us your more than welcome. We are hoping to reserve a 3:00PM tour. Have a 6-1/2 hour drive from our overnight stay outside Dayton, OH. We will be trying and get there by 1:00 to 1:30PM.

In 8th grade my history class took a trip to Gettysburg. Spent four days there. Stopped as a fort in Maryland, too?
The class took a side trip to Hershey Park for a day near the end of the trip. I asked the girl I had a crush on to go out with me while we were on the pirate ship. Let's just say she's now married to an Australian and has a beautiful baby named Vienna. (Who names there kid after a cookie?)

Todd - was it Ft. McHenry in Baltimore?

No. We didn't go that far in. And it was like in the woods. There was nothing else around it. I want to say it was related to the Revolution, not the War of 1812...

Could have been Ft. Frederick out here in Western MD, more the revolutionary time period. Not a big fort though.

I did Gettysburg on an 8th Grade trip to Washington DC in Spring of 1980.

Woo Hooo!

Just scored another free ticket to Hershey! The Kraft/Giant food promotion got me 1 free ticket or a 4 pack for $60. That's over $150 in savings for the 4 pack.

That is such a great deal!

That promotion was a bit disappointing this year because last year you only had to buy $40 in products and there were coupons all over the web for Kraft products as well.

Don't get me wrong it was still a good deal compared to paying full price I was just surprised that you had to spend that much this year.

I am not sure exactly how the four pack worked as it was new this year but if it was only for 2 adults and 2 kids it was not that great of a deal because you can get kids tickets for under $30 each at giant. But if they could be used for 4 adults that isn't too bad of a deal. Each adult would get in for $30.00 each plus you took home $60 in free food.

My math is based on if you only bought the food to get the tickets. Which I am sure that is why most people bought the food. Esp. when many of the items that qualified go on sale cheaper at giant or can be bought elsewhere cheaper.

Slight change here. It's possible my niece will be joining us as well so we changed our room from king to queens. Luckily Nancy at Comfort Suites had it available. :goodvibes
