The Sims 2....Share your screens and stories here!

No there were no consequences. hehehe

The teen usually does half of her younger sisters homework now. (since shes a knowledge aspiration)

It works out pretty well ;)

I got the DVD version at Wal-Mart last week, it wouldn't install on our desktop computer...it would just sit there in the drive and go "click...click...click." It is DVD cabable so couldn't figure it out. Got it loaded on the laptop, but then needed a different graphics driver and DS didn't have time to fix it for me. DH said I should take it back and get the CD version so I did, yesterday. Got it loaded and even though it is a bit slow, it's still fun!! I love how you can create a person with so much more detail now!! It takes forever to "save" the game though, and even choosing furniture and stuff for the house sometimes takes a minute or two to load so that gets a bit frustrating. Maybe this winter we can upgrade the memory/video card and it'll be better. It is so addicting!! I don't want to do anything else, but PLAY!!! ::yes::

I'm glad it works now, Chatty! Maybe you can upgrade your PC for Christmas...:D

One of my Sims was cooking today, and a fire started. Her butt was on fire, and the firefighter came to put out the fire. After the fire was out, the pan on the stove was still smoking, and it gave me the option of getting the meal, but the Sims would get it. So, the stove was useless. Wouldn't let me delete the stove either. So first I moved the stove out into the yard, but then decided to not save the game so I wouldn't have a stove in my yard. Anyone else have this problem? It also happened with the kids stove when my Sim grew up before taking a muffin out of the oven.

Also, has anyone used the smart milk for their toddlers? Nice radio active glow on the little ones when you use that. Nice not to have to spend a ton of time potty training the tykes, though.

Karen

Im not sure if this works, but, did you try having your sims clean the stove *after* they grabbed the meal? hmm.

Haven't checked back for awhile, I have been busy playing.
Some things I have learned:

- Be careful when marrying a Townie, My Sim Tess (Family Aspirations) met and fell for a townie. She got preggo while engaged, they had an really cool wedding an reception. (the Champaign Toast interaction is neat) Anyway it turns out he was a Romance Aspiration Sim - which is not good for a Family Sim - they are very unfaithful.

- Twins are really hard to raise as babies and toddlers, try to get them on opposite schedules by keeping one awake and out of the crib.

- Wait until all of your children are in school aged before trying to get them into private school. I had 2 children and 2 Teens. You will then only have to entertain the headmaster once. Have one of your Sims Schmooze with him while wearing those Special Sunglasses - lots of pts earned. Also he loves the hot tub.

So far I am really enjoying the game and the graphics are awesome.

Still loving this thread! I don't have much time in my schedule to play the game, but I fit in an hour here and there. I started my own family from scratch. (Somehow the wife I customized ended up looking just like my Sister In Law - strange.. and I didn't notice it until I was playing with the character.) Maybe at some point I'll have to post a pic of the character and a pic of my SIL so you guys can tell me if I'm off my rocker. LOL

Anywho.. my family now has a toddler and BOY is it rough keeping everything together. WHEW!

--Cassi (Hoping to find time to play tonight!)

I started a bunch of new people in Veronaville. I moved my primary family from Strangetown over there as well.

I discovered that you lose your toddler if you move. and my couple are in love but no longer married, and also lost some skill levels, but not their jobs.

Does anyone know how to keep your kids active so they don't become chubby? I make them swing. I make them run. I make the play. And they are all chubby. I always feel bad when my kids get a beer belly.

Swimming helps and watch their diet. Feed them good food and stop them from overeating, snacking or getting into the junk food in the fridge.

Get the family a stereo, turn it on and have the kids select Workout.. Also if you have more than one child, have the children workout to the stereo together. They build body pts faster that way.
You really do not need to feed them breakfast before school because they eat at school and the hunger bar fills up while they are at school.

Thanks for the tips, Olena and Kasey! Now my kids won't be chubby :)

One of my Sims has a bad stink problem. I make him bathe, I make him change his clothes, and he still has that green smoke coming from his armpits. Yuck.

His hygience bar is all the way to the right, and it's right after a shower, and he still stinks.

Hmmm...I don't know then. On the personality, is the Sim more sloppy or neat.

This is puzzling.

Looks like I won't have to wait til the PS2 version comes out! We got a new PC yesterday with TONS of playing room!!! Yay!! Can I join the club?!?! We're going to install it tonight!

I always make sure my Sims are high on the neat side (usually seven bleeps). It is not very attractive.

Some of the interactions are so cute. I had one of my kid Sims fall asleep standing up at the kitchen table, and the mom Sim stood next to the kid worrying until I got him to bed.

Karen

Maybe I could check the guide about that, TLinden16. Today's pretty busy.

Desiree, HOORAY for the new PC! This isn't really a club. It's just a place for Simmers on the DIS to share ideas and experiences with TS2...:D So hop on in and post away....:D Screenshots would be great!

By the way, I think the game was 'fixed' when it shipped. It seems like everyone's first pregnancy yielded twins. It happened to me. The first baby my Sims had (outside of adbuction) were twins.

I've downloaded some alien skins and tones. I created an entire alien family (3 generations) and put them in a house in Pleasantview. I made all the kids teens. The Roswell Family has been pretty neat....:D

I finally got around to playing the Goths in Pleasantview. I had Don and Cassandra get married. He jilted her. The cinematic was funny. Another Sim I created is involved with the maid. He asked her to move in with him. Her name is Lucy. Well, Lucy met Don Lothario. OOOPS! I decided to let the flirtation grow. Pretty soon, they were Woo Hooing in the hot tub. Lucy's live-in BF was not at all happy about it. In the little Woo Hoo cinematic, you could see him in the background waving his arms and going crazy. It was hilarious! Lucy is pregnant now!

I played the Caliente Family. Dina asked Don over and he was all over her. Now Dina's pregnant! Mortimer asked Dina to move in with him and she did. After a day, her condition began to show. Don was over and kissing her. Mortimer was MAD. Don hasn't been around since. Dina gave birth to a girl and 'Break Up' is an interaction that now appears with Dina and Mort. He takes good care of the baby. It hasn't grown into a toddler yet. That's where I left that family. What a mess I created! LOL!

And Don? I'm seeing how much trouble I can get him into....:teeth:

What have y'all done?

Hmm. My Sims have had several babies, and I have yet to have twins.
