The Silly and Mischievous Adventures of Four Crazy Canucks - FINAL THOUGHTS 2/1

great update and pics.

I fear the line at TSM when we go. :scared1:

Lessa Advise please If you get in line first at TSM what sort of FP time would you be looking at or would it be better to get FP first and then get in line ????

Well we got in line first and then snagged fastpasses which ended up being for around 4pm. If you are going to be solo I say get in line first then get a fastpass afterwards.

Hey Lessa

Just visiting all of my FG friends. :flower3:

Hey Car! :flower3:

Wow wouldn't it then be better to get a FP first or is the line sooooo long at the machines !!

The lines at the machines are crazy right at rope drop as is the stand-by line so you have to make a choice. Do you want to get a fastpass first and end up in a longish stand-by line (it fills up quickly) or get in stand-by first and get right on and get a fastpass for later in the day. We were going to be in the park all day so we didn't care about getting a fastpass for later in the day.

I just read your last few installments. You spent a lot of time at DHS, I always manage to go for a few hours and that's it.

SOunds like a good day despite the rain.:thumbsup2

The original plan before Fay messed everything up was to take a pool break in the middle of the day and then go back to Fantasmic. Since the pool break was out we just stayed in the park all day as we did not have hoppers and well playing in the park is way better than sitting in our room at POP. :thumbsup2 Even though we were in the park all day we still managed to miss a bunch of stuff. :confused3

I always miss a lot at DHS, without fail. We never seem to be able to get there early enough. Just not motivated, I guess. Then we end up undecided as to what to ride/see. We hit star tours, muppets, shrunken playground, and DH and DS ride TOT. We've never done Indiana Jones, Backlot Tour, RNR coaster, or the car stunt show. But when we went last Feb, my son was chosen for jedi training. Most awesome experience for us at DHS ever!! DH hasn't seen Beauty and the Beast show so this is a must next trip. Funny because he loves the movie and we never hit this one up.

I think the reason it is difficult to fit everything in is because of the shows. They only run a few times a day and you usually have to sacrifice at least one of them to see the other two. It really throws the park touring off.

I agree Lessa ! First time we saw LMA as DGS loves motorcylces etc and Baeuty and the Beast. This year I saw Indiana and did Backlot Tours . Next Sept we plan on 2 days at DHS so they can see everything. Now you have TSM thrown inther too !!

eeewwww - Wet car smell! Love the fishtank idea. My DH has enough junked ones around. I think I'll surprise him with fish in one for his birthday!

I woke up bright and early at 6:30am this morning. We were scheduled to have an early morning breakfast at Donald's Breakfast Safari in the Animal Kingdom. One look out the window had me rethinking our Animal Kingdom plans though. I think I drove my family batty with my constant debating over whether we should go to AK or another park. We finally decided that we were not going to let Fay mess with our schedule and we would go to the Animal Kingdom like originally planned.

Everybody grabbed their ponchos except for me. If you remember in a previous post I was telling you how my poncho ripped at the neck. While all through the day at DHS the rip kept getting worse and worse. When we got back to the room the night before the rip was pretty much down to my belly button rendering the poncho useless so I trashed it.

So with everybody else ponchod up and me in just my regular clothes we headed out the door and into the pouring rain. We made it to Animal Kingdom just a few minutes before 8am which is when our ADR was for so we were rushing a bit. We did take the time to mark in our memory where we parked so there would be no repeats of last years lost car drama. :lmao:

When we got to the entrance the person checking our name on the ADR list joked about how we were late and he couldn't let me in. I think he saw the panicked/annoyed look on my face and quickly said that he was joking. ;)

We speed walked to Tusker House and I managed to check us in only a few minutes late. I was completely drenched though by the time we got to the restaurant. I was cursing the restaurant for being at the complete backside of the park. :rotfl:

We were lead to a table in the main dining room right away. Our server appeared at our table promptly to fill our glasses with the super yummy Jungle Juice which I think I remember her saying is a mix of orange juice, passion fruit juice and guava juice.

Here is a picture of the pretty much empty restaurant

She said the characters were going to be a few minutes so we went ahead and grabbed some food

Overall I enjoyed the food, I thought that the eggs were a little runny but Alek and Erich liked them just fine. I loved the cinnamon roll that I grabbed on my second round, it was delicious!

As we were about to dig in I saw a woman passing by and I recognized her right away. It was Janet, another Focker. I knew that she was also eating there that morning so it was no surprise to see her. I called out her name and she looked over surprised so she must have forgotten that we were going to be there. :rotfl: She came over to the table and I introduced her to the family. We commisserated on how dreary the rain was and how we were not going to let it mess up our plans. Soon after Janet left to get her food the characters started to show up.

First up was our host Donald (please excuse the drowned dog in the picture, I was still drying off from the long walk)

Next up was Mickey

There was a bit of a break between characters so Alek went to grab a second plate. While he was gone I could see Daisy making her way over. Remembering how upset Alek got last year when he nearly missed Tigger under similar circumstance I got up to fetch him. This is when I had my second run in with Janet. She was heading out of the food area as I was coming in to get Alek. I think she saw the anxious look on my face as I stopped dead in the doorway because she asked me what was wrong. I saw Alek coming back though so I told her it was nothing and went back to table. I am sure she thought I was a crazy person for acting like that. :rotfl:

And then the family favourite Goofy

008.jpg

While Goofy was visiting the table behind us Alek and Erich took the opportunity to get the first butt shot of the day. ;)

At some point during the meal I asked the waitress to bring our bill so we could settle it early which she did promptly. I wanted to make sure that we would be out of there by rope drop.

While Alek, Erich and I were finishing up our meal Mom said that she was going to head outside and see if she could find a place to buy me a new poncho as clearly I was going to need one if I didn't want to come down with pnemonia.

We quickly finished up our meal and met Mom outside. Alek had put his poncho on the ground in the restaurant and when he went to put it back on he said it smelled like poop. :confused3 So we had to buy yet another poncho. I was getting anxious as I knew that the park would be opening soon and I wanted to get on the safari before the crowds. As Mom and Alek were paying for his new poncho I saw a most frightening sight......
