Thats great that they did the backlot preshow. I would of been suprised if they didn't. It seems so right up their alley.

Sorry the CM at the meet and greet was so crummy. Hopefully she was just having a bad day and isnt like that all the time. I love that picture of you guys with Mike and Sulley I think thats my favorite so far. You should get it framed!

Hey Cheryl! I didn't even know there was a chance to participate in the Backlot Tour until they asked for volunteers. I know I am a bad DISer.

Hey Rachel! Yeah Alek and Erich were pretty bummed about Toy Story breaking down. Alek said doing the Backlot Show cheered him up though.

Alek was really excited to see this picture of a cow. He really likes cows for some reason, something to do with his friend Bill having a pet cow or something like that. He can tell you what is up with his cow love if he wants to.

I love this cow too. It's a boy/girl cow. Yup.

Loved the pics with Mike and Sully, I would've been mad at the lunch change too, I hate line cutters, the Poncho Dance was priceless, I don't enjoy GMR either, what is up with the RUDE cell phone people???, I would never volunteer for a show at Disney (but I'm glad A and E did!!) and I had no idea that you could even meet characters from Toy Story at HS.

Sorry the ride broke on you guys and I can't wait to read more! WHEW.

Yeah, I doubt I would ever volunteer either. Watch out when watching the Showcase Players while at Epcot though, they just pluck people out of the audience without even asking for volunteers.

Sorry Rosie, I have been a bit busy the past few days as it is Homecoming weekend here and it is always a complete disaster. I'll be sure to check in soon though.

It had stopped raining again after we saw Mike and Sulley so we did not have to don the ponchos. We didn't have any set plans as we had accomplished pretty much everything we wanted to for the day. Now we were just killing time until Fantasmic.

We wandered around a bit before deciding to head back to the Animation Studio to see what characters were out. This time we went in using the super secret back entrance.

First up was Mickey Mouse, Mom didn't want to stand in line so she went over to wait for us on a bench. We were fine with this as there was a photopass photographer so we were covered, or so we thought. When we got home from the trip and I loaded our photopass cards onto the website the Mickey pictures were missing. We should have known better than to not get a copy on our camera as well. Oh well, a lesson learned.

Next up was Frozone, Mom opted out of that one as well.

We were getting hungry so we decided to have dinner at the ABC Commissary. When we got there it was deserted! Barely anybody in there and it was prime dinner time too.

We discussed what we wanted to do and we decided that we would go back to Toy Story Mania for another ride. We had a couple hours to kill and there was really nothing else we wanted to do so we said so long as the wait was an hour or less we would do it.

Well wouldn't you know the wait was exactly one hour when we arrived. Mom quickly made friends with a woman and her family who were from Texas. They were on a deployment vacation as her husband was about to ship out to Iraq.

We talked with them the whole time we were in line. Alek even had a good conversation with her about his love of cows, I'm sure you all remember all the lovely pearls of wisdom that Alek has stored up about them.

People kept exiting from the line through the emergency exit which of course opened right up to the crowds of people outside and stayed open for several minutes. Several people tried to take advantage of this and cut into the line but the husband of the woman we were chatting with spoke up and told them to get to the back of the line.

When it came time for us to part ways with the Texan family the wife yelled out to Alek "I hope you have lots of encounters with cows!" It was totally hilarious.

When we exited Toy Story the first showing of Fantasmic had started so we decided to just go wait outside the theatre so that we could have first choice in seating for the second show.

Alek and Erich continued their tradition from last year of getting their picture taken with CM's.

We made our way over to Fantasmic to wait for the second show. As we were waiting it began to sprinkle. The CM manning the rope kept telling everybody that the show would go on unless there was heavy rain and wind so we continued to wait it out. After 30 minutes it was coming down pretty steadily and I decided to just throw the towel in and leave. It was so wet and miserable and I was tired of being in the rain and I didn't want to wait any longer for a show that may not go on no matter how much I love it. So we made our way out of the park while browsing through a couple of the stores. I kept changing my mind and wanting to go back but I finally resolved to just leave. Anybody know if the second show of Fantasmic went on the night of August 20th?

When we got back to the car we saw that one of the back windows had been left open. It was either Alek or Erich who was responsible as they were the ones sitting back there. They of course said it was my job to make sure it was up as I was the driver. Somehow the inside of the car did not get wet, I have no idea how that happened considering how much it rained that day but we sure were lucky. It is also a good thing that we did not have anything in the car that would have tempted a thief.

Once back at the hotel Alek and I made our way down to the food court to fill the mug up with some of that yummy blue raspberry slushie they offer at POP. We ran into Kat on the way and exchanged hellos and chatted for a few minutes.

Once back up in the room we indulged in our nightly tradition of loading all our photos onto the laptop and reviewing them all. Getting rid of the really bad ones and the repeats (which there were a lot of with three different people taking pictures). We had some good laughs going over the pictures and videos. Overall it was a great day despite the rain, we did not let it get us down.

Sometimes it is random like in this case. The general idea behind the CM pictures is to show them that we appreciate the great job they do. The CM's really seem to love it and I bet it makes their days a bit brighter.

Yay, another great update! We just started planning for our Feb trip and I love any info you share re: POP. We are staying 3 nights at POP and 8 nights at WL. I'm looking at the 50s section to avoid too much noise. How is the food court there?

The food court has a lot of choices but if you are going to eat there go at an off time because it gets packed and becomes a zoo with all the different lines for the different food stations and then the cash area. Stay tuned I have lots more photos to post of POP.

You are going to love the Wilderness Lodge, my favourite.

The boys and I love the blue slushie drink at the POP as well! (though quite oftenly, the dispenser machine thing was broken ) DH prefers the frozen coke, I think.
