The Side effects of the AP-Trip#6 Oct 10 Final thoughts and some TMI

Boy, lots of La Nouba talk between here and Liesa's thread. That scavenger hunt looks like it was a lot of fun! I'd love to do something like that. What was the ultimate prize, anyway? Hopefully it was worth your while.

I have to confess I was looking at the DTD pictures and still more interested in the balloon than in La Nouba. Maybe it's because every time I go there, it's grounded due to the wind. :rotfl:

I stopped back this morning to re-read what I missed! The scavenger hunt looks like a blast. What a cool idea! I love that!!!!!

I also really enjoyed cirque. I felt like time literally stood still while I was in there. 90 minutes later I looked at my watch and said, Whhhhhhaaaaat?" It was amazing!

I felt the same way. I caught myself with my mouth hanging wide open several times. Other times I would see something, watch it and then wonder- what the heck was that all about but loving it at the same time. :lmao:

I do believe it was Liesa and crew as wellas a great passholder discount that sealed the deal for La Nouba for me. I never knew it had a storyline and well in the end it may not have mattered. :lmao:

The scavenger hunt was "sponsored " by the Be our Guest podcast people and the author of that book. I know it wasn't annual passes or anything like that but it was something for each of the five members. It might have been a copy of the book and maybe either picture frames or a photo album. :confused3

I have been looking at the DTD balloon too. The one time I did see it come back down all wobbly due to the wind made me think again about it but I will do it eventually.

Well as I am texting and calling Kristin and Maroo, I actually get there first. We walk in and since it almost parade time Maroo tells us to go on and since she has the wheelchair she will catch up when she can get through the crowd.

I finally make it over to the check in kiosk and Kristin and Maroo are already there. I am dumbfounded and they said they opened up the backstage entrance right after I made a dash through the stores and Main street.
We all remarked that it was Oct 2 and they had to open the backstage route because of crowds??? Due to MNSSHP this one of the few times Wishes was being done, hence the increased crowds.

Dessert party – we had a great seat with a great view of the castle. Of course you want to know what was there….

It was getting late and it was time to go.

The half marathon was going on so our trip back to POP was interesting. BVD ( Buena Vista Drive ) was closed for runners as the runners were going from AK to EPCOT. A crowded standing room only bus and we could not get over to POP the traditional way.

We were coming down World Dr. but we could not turn onto BVD to get to Victory way to get to POP. Looking at a map, we should have gone down to Osceola Pkwy and get onto Victory Way from the other end but alas, I was not driving and I did not have the map in my hand at the time :)

WE passed BVD and the driver radioed in and asked what to do. He pulls over in the median on World Drive to do this so now the bus is ahum with “ What is going on?” “Are we broken down?” etc. etc.

We pull back out on the road and continue straight. We are going real far and it seems like we left Disney Property. We pull a U – Turn and start back up World Drive.

Horrible picture on a crowded moving bus but here are crossing under the arch – we indeed are going back ON Disney Property.

IMG_9988.jpg

We cross over BVD again but then get our at the EPCOT exit. Maroo was supposed to be at the EPCOT party for the runners but came to the dessert party and now was too tired to go. I told her to ask the driver just to let her off?

We drove THROUGH the EPOCT bus lot and back out onto EPCPT Center Drive and go on BVD that way to Victory Way and to POP. Not the most direct route but we got there eventually. It was after midnight and we went straight to our rooms and collapsed. Or at least I tried.

I have to have the TV on to go to sleep. It is one of my many bad habits. I need the noise but I always set the sleep timer. Well, Last night I discovered the battery cover was missing from my POP remote.
Tonight the batteries are gone!!!! I looked around to see if when Mousekeepping was in the room the remote was dropped and maybe they rolled somewhere.
Nope. So it after midnight and I have to call the front desk to get batteries since I need AAA when I have a million AA’s :laughing.

Kevin a the front desk says he will bring me a new remote but Dave responds to the door but he has batteries!

Only at Disney will I answer the door after midnight to a guy standing outside my door for batteries.

Now I collapse.

The desserts - oh, my, my, my!

That was an interesting ride home!

I am just the opposite of you when it comes to sleeping. I like it pitch black with no noise.

I was very lucky to be able to get to go to the Dessert party.

That was pretty much my dinner. I enjoyed everything I ate::yes::

We certainly did not take a short cut home. :rolleyes1

I need some background noise to drown out the quiet and the crickets and creaks that come with the quiet. I do need dark unless I am exhausted.

When I went away to college, outside my dorm room were woods and lots of frogs and crickets. It would take me 2 weeks to get use to the croaking and chirping when I got there and 2 weeks to get used to not having it when I got home.

Pat, sitting at O'Hare waiting for our flight...just a little ove ran hour now and did a quick "drive by" of your TR. I just showed Mark the dessert party pictures and he wants to know "are we going to that?" Uh....no, didn't book it.

someone else had the smae idea as you taking pictures of the food.
i would do the same thing.

:lmao::lmao: Yeah there are more of us "food picture takers now" At least that time of year.

if u dont mind me asking, what does that run? wondering if it is something we would do next trip.

I hav no idea of what the price is but I think somewhere in the neighborhood of 26.99?
Kristin's friends did want to use theri prepaid tickets so Kristen offered for MAroo and I to go in thier place. We offered to pay her for the tickets but she refused saying it was her friends loss for not using them and our gain.:)

Now you need to add that to your list!!! :lmao:

You should be up in the air by now. Safe landings and all the pixie dust in the world for you.

I have seen a lot of pictures of the dessert party, but yours are specially tempting. YUM!!!! It really looks good!

I love you picture on Space Mountain - nice pose!!!!

What a great ending to a great day!

It was really good. I am glad I had the chance to experience but I am not sure if I would pay to do it again. I woul d have to go with a sweets lover and use it as my dinner to get my moneys worth. :lmao:

Once I found out where the camera was I started having fun with the pictures.

Sun Oct 3rd – Meeting and eatin.

I am up early and I text Maroo- she is meeting me at DHS to do DHs for the TSM tromp at RD.

I am about 10 people back from the turnstile- at 8:41 people stat going in . Our turnstile locks up ! It has to be rebooted. 4 more people go and it stops again. My card goes in – turnstile locks up again. THEN they close it and move everyone to another line. :headache: I finally get in at 8:54 and I way in the back.

We got our FP and then rode standby through the handicapped ramp.
Looks like someone pushed Mr. Potatohead.

IMG_0033.jpg

Maroo tromped me. I will try to attribute her score to the use of the handy dandy button she had instead of the pull string.

IMG_0040.jpg

As we exited I noticed a woman and her dog. Yep she was riding on the handicapped side with her support dog. Not quite sure what role the dog played, seizure, general support or what but she actually rode with the dog.

IMG_0046.jpg

I swear I saw either the woman or the companion of the woman throw 3 pairs of 3-D glasses back in the bin so I think she even got glasses for the dog. ????

We hit RnR Single riders line

We passed the Ducks in their tourist gear.

We walked until our FP time was in sight.

The DHS stop at the TTC.

Today’s adventures would be at the Tambu lounge. We took the bus to the TTC.

We had lunch at

Had to make sure this beauty was for dessert

IMG_0083.jpg

The boy in this picture was just nutty running around. It was fun to watch him but he was exhausting me, Of course mom who is used to his energy just ignored it. I was just glad he wasn't mine.

IMG_0084.jpg

Couple of pics from the Tambu Lounge. Can’t wait until I can walk out on that beach again.

IMG_0088.jpg

After we hung out for a while we headed to EPCOT. There was another meet at La Hacienda.

Stitch was up to no good.

This made me laugh.

IMG_0107.jpg

Pretty CM costumes.

IMG_0105.jpg

We started out at La Hacienda but it was very crowded so we moved over by the Mexico pavilion.

We were all treated to some excellent food from La Hacienda and some excellent drinks. I talked with some folks and we all chatted about his thing and another as well our common love for Disney.

At some point, I think Maroo left off to get ready for MNSSHP.

During our time together, I mentioned bathroom tile and how I like that the bathrooms were all themed and different. She urged me to check out the Food and Wine welcome center bathroom. Since it was only open for special events, it has never been updated.

Walk with me.

This concludes the tour of our 1982 restroom.

On the way back out. I picked up some passports to have stamped.

IMG_0162.jpg

At the bus stop I see 3 families with 4 kids, 3 strollers. 1 set of parents are going back in the park and the other 2 families are taking the kids back to the resort. 3 adults – 1 gets the kids and 2 adults get the strollers and all the bags associated with them. WOW I don’t miss those days.

The rest of night was spent back at POP. I had to do payroll for work and Sunday seemed like a good time to go back get internet access and watch some TV while doing that.

The next day was going to be a long one.

Caught up! Another eventful night with the dessert party and the detouring bus.

Thanks for giving us a tour of a 1980's bathroom. I remember those!

That bus ride was wild and funny all at the same time. I remember when riding along and then thinking we left Disney property proper. We made that U-Turn and lo and behold there was the arch.

When Maroo found out I like tile in the bathrooms she was so excited to tell me about this bathroom "lost in time".

It was a clean bathroom but so odd to experience. You really don't thing about what you don't have to touch anymore in the bathroom... until you do. :confused3
