The Side effects of the AP-Trip#6 Oct 10 Final thoughts and some TMI

Your moon picture is great. I also like you snow pictures. They are so pretty, but I am not a snow person. I like warm weather.

I may have to, I had the weirdest holiday ever. Never thought I'd want to be elsewhere for the holidays but after this one...perhaps!

Sorry to hear it was weird. Sometimes you just need toget away from everything- family included. A Disney holiday vacation can help you keep the holiday spirit without the family drama. :)

The boy's Mickey costume looks too funny! But he does not look comfortable in it...

We did wonder where "Mickey" came from. :rotfl2: We were in shorts so I imagine he was a bit warm.

I think Katharina and I caught the last song of the Voices of Liberty on the last trip and that was the first time I ever heard them. I really want to hear more of them.

I may have caught a small part of their non holiday performance but I need to make a point of catching them again.:goodvibes

Thanks for taking a picture of the vest! Were they the same for all the countries? It would be neat if it was always the country's language on them (but this looks more like it was from France then, Canada ought to have a bilingual one?).
I think some were different. I believe I took another picture of one in Italy.
Having them be in the county's language would be a great idea.
That is plussing the experience. Seeing those small details.

OK...finally caught up! That's an awesome pic of the moon! :thumbsup2 I'll have to get my snow pics uploaded and posted on my trip report. I think we definitely got more than you got.

You always get more snow that we get ( said in my best whiny voice)

Sounds like ya'll are having a good day in Epcot so far. And you even got to take an "offender" picture!

It was crowded for sure but we were pluggin through those storytellers.

A bit later we saw real unusual sites. I got pictures of them too. :rotfl2:

Your moon picture is great.

Thanks I love my new camera.

I also like you snow pictures. They are so pretty, but I am not a snow person. I like warm weather.

I like snow ... for about 10 minutes.:rotfl2: I went just enough out the door to take those pictures.:rotfl2:

My favorite place to see snow is looking at it through the window while sitting under a warm blanket with a cup of coffee or hot chocolate.

Around the world one 2 seater at a time

After we exited the AA show it was 3pm. We were hungry and needed to grab something rather quick.
We walked back towards Japan and ended up at the Yakitori house. We gathered some food. It was so-so. Not my best meal but we were hungry.
Now for the title. While I waited in line, the girls went to use the bathroom. I wait, and wait, and wait. When they return they tell me the bathroom back there only has 2 stalls and only 1 was turning over so to speak. I had never encountered a small restroom at EPCOT. I had never been to the bathroom by the Yakitori house either. This would become a theme later on.

We spend some time in Japan taking pictures of the waterfall and surroundings.

We are off in search of another storyteller. We cruise past Italy for now and approach Germany.
We see this beauty.
EPCOTSnowWhite123009.jpg

We stop at the trains.
EPCOTGermanytrain2123009.jpg

We had a few minutes before the German storyteller would start. We find a photopass photographer.

My friend B is very observant. She has noticed people on a plane, that we see later at a convention. She is good with faces and I can give her credit for many of the unusual photos I have. She points out a family and the fact that the kids are in big trouble.
You can see here the Dad is squatting down and the faces on the kids is just proof that they did something wrong. Mom is by the stroller and you can tell she is not happy either.

Also on the lawn are many worn out people. It is a nice day, but many decide to use the lawn area for a nap.

Almost time for Helga the German storyteller.

Amen to that sister!

That Snow White is spot on. I find that she's a particalarly hard one to pull off.

Ok, I don't want to get myself in trouble here, but I'm not sure I remember seeing so many people just crashing on the lawns and in the landscaping. :confused3 I guess it looks just sort of weird....

I am REALLY digging the train set all decked out with boughs of holly and such! That's exactly the sort of thing that keeps me coming back again and again, and again.

We call that the Yuck-itori House. blech.

travelling with observant people is a treat! Katharina is like that as well, she always sees things I would never have noticed...

I am very much looking forward what you are going to tell us about Helga! I saw a bit of her talk on allears and thought it was pretty good. She sounds like she is really German, but has lived in the US for quite some time, or are there more than one Helga???

I think the people in the landscaping is a sign of it being very crowded. Once all benches are taken people just want to sit somewhere else. And I think in summer no one wants to sit in the hot sun on a lawn, while in December it would be rather pleasant...

Here I zoom as far as I can and get a sort a clear image.

IMG_0106.jpg

Wow! That is awesome! Very, very nice. I want a zoom sooooo badly. Someday....!

The news was saying the last signifcant snow ( snow that sticks and make a mess of driving) was 1947.

 So those couple of inches were a big deal! How nice to have a white Christmas and then have it quickly disappear. That's the kind of snow I like. :teeth:

was leaning against the left side of the stage area ON HER PHONE. She continued on her phone even after he started. At one point he looked at her, waited, and then said ”Do you mind? It is really hard to concentrate with you talking right in my ear.” I thought we were going to die laughing.

Oh my word! It must have been REALLY bad to have a character stop and comment on it! But seriously, how rude. I don't understand why people think that's okay. :confused3 :headache: She must have felt really foolish after that.

I went in that TEENY bathroom during this same week! :lmao: The line was out the door and around the corner. TWO STALLS?! I couldn't believe it. Thankfully both were in commission when I went.

I thought all the people camping out on the lawns was an odd site as well. All over the World people were hanging out on the grass! I remember seeing them even in the parking lots as I rode the monorail. Just sitting there, doing nothing. You never see that except that week. I don't blame 'em though, the sheer crowds sometimes were enough to just make you want to relax and people watch or take a nap. We took about an hour on our Epcot day (December 30-is that what day you are on too?), and hung out by Germany waterfront and just chilled. It was great!

I just read this about the Block Party Bash's last performance and it gave me goosebumps. :goodvibes Enjoy.

Last day of Block party bash

I will get to replies tonight or late if I am not too busy at work. :ssst:

ah, I never saw this parade... Maybe I will be able to see it in Paris one day, they seem to recycle old WDW parades there... At the moment they have the stars in cars or what it was called at the Paris Studios.

Last day of Block party bash

Thanks for sharing. I love to read things like that. I hope the new one will be every bit as good. The first time we saw BPB, I wasn't such a fan, and although I will not say it was a favorite, I did grow fonder and fonder of it with every trip. You are so right about the performers giving their all, because one young lady tried her best to get our group of little cousins to join her in dancing. They just stared at her, but she kept on groovin' just as hard and never gave up. I'm looking forward to seeing the new parade in February! :dance3:

I think that is what caught my attention. When they are good they are usually very good and well, when they are bad, they are well not so good ;)

I think everyone else has said it. It speak to the crowds on that day. I thought of Jordan when I saw the snooze fest on the lawn.

I am REALLY digging the train set all decked out with boughs of holly and such! That's exactly the sort of thing that keeps me coming back again and again, and again.

I like the food and wine decorations since I guess I know they are specially made just like the big ones around the park only teeny tiny.

We call that the Yuck-itori House. blech.

Yeah not our best meal. Maybe that was why 1 stall was out of rotation.

travelling with observant people is a treat! Katharina is like that as well, she always sees things I would never have noticed...

B and A too would catch thing I missed. I have travelled with B on a couple of more occasions for conferences etc. She has literally walked on a plane with me and either that night or the next day recognized people during the trade show portion as being on our plane.

I am very much looking forward what you are going to tell us about Helga! I saw a bit of her talk on allears and thought it was pretty good. She sounds like she is really German, but has lived in the US for quite some time, or are there more than one Helga???

I am not sure if that was only the 2010 Helga but I can tell you the 2009 Helga was different. Liessa has the same comment about the Voices of Liberty. I did not get to see the storytellers more than once but I would think they may be several due to the work hours involved.

I think the people in the landscaping is a sign of it being very crowded. Once all benches are taken people just want to sit somewhere else. And I think in summer no one wants to sit in the hot sun on a lawn, while in December it would be rather pleasant...

I agree. It was a nice day, warm but not too hot. Actually a perfect day to stretch out on the lawn. :rotfl2:

It is the Canon PowershotSX30 point and shoot with a 35X.

 So those couple of inches were a big deal! How nice to have a white Christmas and then have it quickly disappear. That's the kind of snow I like. :teeth:
We usually don't get snow in Dec. any snow we might get is usually anywhere from Jan - Mar. The school have no built in snow days so every day they miss they make up. :sad2: I wish they would build in just a couple because more often than not we have a couple every year.

Oh my word! It must have been REALLY bad to have a character stop and comment on it! But seriously, how rude. I don't understand why people think that's okay. :confused3 :headache: She must have felt really foolish after that.

I know right? I have no idea what she was thinking.

I went in that TEENY bathroom during this same week! :lmao: The line was out the door and around the corner. TWO STALLS?! I couldn't believe it. Thankfully both were in commission when I went.

When they came out and told me since it was a 2 seater it took a while, I said "REALLY? a 2 seater?" I had to go look because I did not think EPCOT would have a bathroom so small. :confused3

Yes that was the day we were there. We were around Germany from 3:45-4:15. It was a beautiful day. I will have to look for you in our pictures.

ah, I never saw this parade... Maybe I will be able to see it in Paris one day, they seem to recycle old WDW parades there... At the moment they have the stars in cars or what it was called at the Paris Studios.

When it was announced it would end I was able to see it a couple of times before it went. It is/was a very high energy show/parade. I don't know how they did it in the heat of summer. They were moving for 2- 20 minute shows and had to move equipment in the middle too.

I think I did not see it for the first time until the Sept trip. I made sure to catch it in Oct. to say goodbye. ( and get pictures)

All teh performers wore sweat bands and man they used them. I could hardly stand to watch them in the heat much less perform in that heat. I can only imagine how hot Sully was. :sad2:

I am looking forward to the new one too.:dance3:

It is almost time for the German storyteller. We stake out a good spot … next to the hat family.

"A" was able to catch this. I just missed and her arms went back down.

The finale is when the big nutcracker comes out.

This Helga was spot on. She reminds me a bit of my own mother. I guess it was the accent.

The bridge was up. A rare sight indeed.

We walk next door to Italy. We catch the tail end of Sergio the Italian mime.
EPCOTItalySergio123009.jpg

We notice the matching sweater family. The girl in the purple sweater in the foreground was chosen to catch the balls Serio was throwing

And this naughty boy who climbed in the landscaping to find a seat.

Time for the Italian Storyteller.

She was another good storyteller. She really moved around and made sure all the children were engaged.

Her handler

Next up: My storyteller I nominate as most entertaining.
