The Side effects of the AP-Trip#6 Oct 10 Final thoughts and some TMI

Woo Hoo Pat!!!!! I'll be with you in spirit! My body will be in Kansas pouting...

Hurray for your Verizon and pin code news! Chelsea really wants an iPhone -- one of the cell phones is due for an upgrade in February, and she has been nag, nag, nagging me lately. I personally think if anyone gets an iPhone it should be me. LOL!

I love reading about all the storytellers in Epcot! Cute picture with the three kings!

Get the girl an Iphone.....

Get the girl an Iphone.....

:lmao: I did think that if I let her get one, I could use it on the Disney trip.

I just don't want our cell phone bill to go any higher, and I am not sure which data plan I should get -- is there one that allows unlimited usage that doesn't cost an arm and a leg?

the only reason I would get an iphone over the android would be for the apps that would give me wait times.:rotfl2::rotfl2: But I am seeing they are out for droids too so my choice may be easier.

Yes data does cost and arm and a leg. I tell you verizon will have to come out with a special to push us off that cliff.
Right now I think a smartphone will allow one line free so it cuts the data package down by $10 but you need the unlimited.

:banana: I just booked 9/27- 10/3 but at All Star Sports :headache: Not my first choice. But you know I will keep trying to switch over to POP. The only advantage is if I do the 5K transportation is from those resorts but I would rather be at POP.

35% pin code - Disney speaks my language. $$$$

They are usually there until the Dec 30th. Perfect for a NYE trip. :rolleyes1

We plan to be there extra early for a magical Magic Kingdom opening on the 1st. Straight to Fantasyland, of course, and then off toward Big Thunder and Splash, I imagine.

I've stayed at Sports twice and liked it just fine. I prefer Pop, of course, but whatever one can get to be in Disney World is happiness, right? ;) What day is the 5k? Is it that same Saturday morning? What is the path?

I agree with you on the 1st. Extra early. :thumbsup2

I realized after I booked that I really, really want to be at POP for NYE to hear the POP holiday music.
So I may be OKay with ASSports. Dani the CM who booked it originally offered up Movies but I remember sports is first on and first off on the busses. I have time to think about it and I will be happy either way.

5k is usually that Sat AM . Duh If I run the 5K I willbe ther REALLY Early for a 7 am start to the run. HMMM I wonder if one will affect the other?

Another goal was to catch the Candlelight Processional. Angela Bassett and Courtney B Vance were the narrators.
Heading back to the American Adventure I knew we would not get seats. My hope was to be able to stand in the back and just listen.

We were able to do just that. We could stand right up against the curb behind the theater and up against the rope.

Zooming in.

Everything started out well enough. A beautiful start, the processional into the theater. Watching everyone walk in reminds you how many voices there are. The wonderful singers and orchestra were blissful. The voices of Liberty sang, the narrators began to read. Then it happened. Nature called. Does anyone remember the sign from the last trip I told you to remember?
This one?

PA243702.jpg

Either A or B ( or both ) need to satisfy the call of nature. Most of this trip I was worried they would be lost or I would give them directions and they would be hopelessly lost. I asked if they wanted me to go with them, and they assured me they would be Okay. I directed them to the above restroom. I knew it was big, usually clean and I thought easy to find.

They come back a little while later and could not find that bathroom. :headache: I felt bad that I could not get my friends to the bathroom. They were going to keep looking. Sensing this could end badly I decided to go with them. I did not try to find the AA bathroom. I trusted them enough and did not want to waste time by going back that way through the crowds.

We proceeded to go toward Morocco. We did not want to go back to the bathroom we found in Japan. At this moment, in the dark, I realized I did not know where every bathroom was located.

I directed them to the restaurant Marrekesh. There HAD to be a bathroom in there right? Well, there was but another small one, a three seater, I believe and it was crowded, of course. I wait while they wait.

The carpet.

We finally got done. I could not believe this trip as going to be all about the toilet. :rotfl2: It always seemed like I realized how little I knew about the layout of EPCOT. No meltdown, we took it in stride and laughed about all the small bathrooms I never knew existed.

Now of course I make a Large discovery about Moroccan bathrooms later on.

Not wanting to double back and try to reclaim our spot at CP, I realized we could catch the UK storyteller. We walked over to the UK and waited for Father Christmas.

Father Christ
mas picked a child from Miami to help him. I think the child had to ring a bell when Father Christmas said a certain word. It was fun watching the two interact. Here he was giving a bell to the boy.

We decided to call it a night. We were walking around most of World Showcase and we wanted to be sure to get back to the room and still needed to get settled in that room.

We took the bus back to bus stop 2 and made our way to the room. According to our room number w were on the third floor. It will not be the same room I was first assigned in Oct.

We were in room
CSRroomnumber123109.jpg

We brought our bags up and got settled. When I had made reservations, there were no discounts for Dec 30 and 31 but I was able to get a discount for Jan 1 -3 so we had a split stay. I was assured by the check in staff that we would be able to stay in the same room and just have to come down to the front desk to get new keys. I believe we ate dinner at Pepper Market and then went back to the room. Sorry for the lack of pictures of food but again – my friends know little about the Dis and the requirement to take food pictures, and I did not reveal my total dorkness.

I know I started reading this but never posted. Well, here I amnow. Our dates overlap in Sep as I said on me Mom's report. i am running the 5k with several other Dis'ers. We are going to start a PTR next month. Going back to catch up

Wecome back. You did post way back when I guess, but I stuggle to keep up with TR's too.

I will look for the PTR link. Like I had said I am hoping to run the 5K if body parts don't give out but I need a goal so that will be it. :)

We'll have to see how that 5K affects opening. What does it run through?

Not only is Sports first on the pick up and drop-off route, it is newer in that it has had a refurb. Movies is way overdue for one. I'd take Pop, Music, or Sports before Movies just on that fact, but after Movies gets an overhaul, I think the girls would enjoy staying there again. Lots of great photo ops.

The Candlelight Processional is a beautiful experience. :)

The prices at Pop for Christmas through New Year's are mod prices, but they drop to $85 a night on the 2nd. :sad2:

Anyone I would have felt comfortable enough to take a Disney trip with would have just had to suffer through my food picture-taking dorkness.

Here is the race description. I see that by looking throught he website they have several courses. Hmmm if I live through the first one I may need to do another.

Course Description
Race toward Magic Kingdom® Park from Topiary Lane, run down Main Street, U.S.A.® toward Adventureland® where you will run past The Magic Carpets of Aladdin, Jungle Cruise, and the Pirates of the Caribbean attractions while racing towards Frontierland®. Once in Frontierland®, you will run past Splash Mountain® and through Liberty Square. You’ll pass by Cinderella Castle, the Mad Tea Party, and the Tomorrowland® Indy Speedway. Once in Tomorrowland®, you’ll run by Space Mountain®, and then you are on your way to the finish passing Disney’s Contemporary Resort and back to Topiary Lane at the Transportation and Ticket Center.

Good to know! :thumbsup2 If I want to make the rounds to al the resorts I will hav to stay here sometime. I stayed at movies way back '01 I think and all 4 of us were really squished in the room. I know it was the double beds now. We were over in the Mighty Duck section so we were so far away from everything else movie ( but close to Sports) it was like we were in the Siberia of movies. I actually ran over to the food court in Sports to get food for breakfast every morning because it was so close.
Of course now I need to look into time off and schedule air but 1 step at a time.

The Candlelight Processional is a beautiful experience. :)

It was. I think after all the running around we were all tired and wanted to keep moving. The bathroom frustration did not help us at that point either.
I will have to catch the full show again.

I am looking at that too. Depending on if I can get someone to go with me or I am going solo, I may extend into the New Year. Juggling time off will be a factor too. Getting time off the first week in Jan will be easier than the week between Christmas and NY.

Anyone I would have felt comfortable enough to take a Disney trip with would have just had to suffer through my food picture-taking dorkness.

Yeah I know I probably could have done it. I did get tile pictures didn't I?
I did catch some good hearted ribbing from the tile pictures.
I bet we probably started talking and then eating and it was not thought of until we were either done or 1/2 way through our meal. :confused3

Next time they are getting the full dork!

Ok this is a test. I changed my Avatar- Thanks Liesa for the suggestion.
but it took me forever to get it to upload and usually it changes all your posts right.
Well I still see my old one.

So this is a test to see which one comes up.
:rotfl2:

ETA: It finally changed them all. :woohoo: That was odd.:confused3

Just got caught up on this last chapter. I confess I don't know where very many bathrooms are in the World Showcase either.

Sorry for the lack of pictures of food but again – my friends know little about the Dis and the requirement to take food pictures, and I did not reveal my total dorkness.

Yeah, it's better to do that a little at a time, I've found. :rotfl2:

It seemed like we found every small one. :rotfl: I never they exisited. :confused3

Yeah, it's better to do that a little at a time, I've found. :rotfl2:

I have know both of them for over 15 years. I have travelled with both of them before. I am sure they would have just laughed at me much like they laughed at me for taking pictures of garbage cans and bathroom tiles.

We may have just been cold and hungry and in getting ready to eat it slipped my mind. At that point, other than Food and Wine in Oct. none of our food seemed really photo worthy. All CS standard Fare.

December 31 2009

A good nights sleep and we were up early today. In my original plans I has us making AK by rope drop but when I found out it was 8am I knew that was out of the question. Early but not so much that we are miserable. This would be a long day for us. We would try to get there as quick as we could and then go back to the room and rest in the afternoon. The evening's activities would be at the Poly beach.
I was up and showered first. I offered to go to the Café Rix and pick up breakfast for all of us.
When I exited the room I was greeted with this.

What a great sight. Being winter, it was only 7:15 am or so. Totally worth it to see the sunrise. We all finished getting ready and eating. I had used the room coffee maker to make coffee. I like strong coffee so I double stuff with 2 of the pouches and all is good. We head to the bus stop. What would be the perfect park for NYE?

Definitely a cool place to run! :cool1:

If you stayed at Mighty Ducks, you went right across the street to Music. Sports is on the other side of Music. Music's food court is just steps away from that back section of Movies rooms. A preferred room, if you will. ;) When we stayed at Movies, we requested Mighty Ducks in order to do the same thing. We'd eat at Music's food court and get on the bus there. By the time a shared bus gets to Movies, it is standing room only, if that. They never had a chance to get a seat.

I really like staying at Music, and you do get to walk around three different resorts for pictures.

Easier and cheaper is a good combination. If Jill could get off after NY, we'd be doing that, too, but she has to take the week between Christmas and NY.

Show your dorkness proudly.

What a beautiful beginning to a day!

Boo Hoo I have to go into work. 3 hour delay so we open at 11am. My driveway and street are a sheet of ice and I slid down trying to spread the last of the salt we have and had to be real creative getting back up the driveway.

Wish me luck.

10:01- I wait until 9:50am to check to see if I have to in to work. 6:22 am was the email this morning that said all systems go, we report at 11am. I get ready, salt driveway, slip down and up the driveway, drink coffee and watch 10 minutes of news and notify staff by text and twitter.
At 10:00 they announced we are closed for the day.:headache: I should be happy I don't have to kill myself to get to work but really, I had to re-notify all staff and take off all my layers.

I just wish they would not cut it so close.

Well now I am up and I get to finish some chores :laundy: and Dis.:surfweb:
