The Side effects of the AP-Trip#6 Oct 10 Final thoughts and some TMI

Thanks for posting the pictures of the DVC sales office. I've never seen it, since we bought remotely.

it was nice- they had the different resort room set up in one small area so you "hopped " from resort to resort to visit without actually leaving. I really thought I took pictures in there but either I felt funny doing it or he stopped me. :confused3

You were able to resist the urge to buy...impressive will-power. What was with that guy, not giving you info. on the location that you were more inclined to be interested in? :confused3

I think either he told me what the dues rates were or I already knew them and when he presented AKL and BLT I said BLT. He was like you don't want that one you really want AKL and would only price AKL??? At that moment I got a little turned off.
I told him up front that I really just wanted information and wanted to see what it was all about.
I think if I eventually buy in and that is IF it would primarily be for me or future grandchildren. With everyone going in their separate directions with college and such it may be years where we all can enjoy the benefits together and coordinate calendars.

I'm glad you got the gift card. Most people go to the timeshare talks just for the free swag, right? If you really wanted to annoy him, you could have kept raising your hand and pointing out geographical errors on the murals. :rotfl2:

I did go for the swag. I was under the impression the gift card would be a bit larger but once it was explained- After the visit- It was all good. I went I sat I listened, I spent my card and got earrings.:thumbsup2

As I scrolled back through the pictures I was thinking Hey the monrail does not go between DHS and EPCOT. :rotfl2: Then I really looked and OH MY- alternate reality.

Here, have mine. :rotfl:

Now, that is being too cautious. :rolleyes1 My DS won't ride either. :rotfl:

I took pictures of the DVC rooms when we went over for the tour. I remember the AKL room being so nice. :)

It was for $10.00. If I was staying at a Deluxe with DVC- Boardwalk, Beach Club, Wilderness, AKL and maybe CR. it would have been $100.00. :headache:

I got my earring and part of something else for free so I am not really complaining. :rolleyes1
i would have talked him up to 25

but good that you were able to pick out something that you wanted with them.:thumbsup2

Okay...I'm caught up. We have never gone to a DVC Sales pitch thing although we used to get approached about it all the time.

How great that you go to ride RnR so many times (Mark would have loved that; not me though).

That guy looked tall even hunched over. ;)

The one bedroom- geez you could sleep in the bathroom, it was HUGE. :lmao:

Believe me, I wanted to but he had turned me off a bit so I was just itching to get out of there. :lmao:

I wear my earrings all the time. Obviously they are not expensive but for every day they are fine and they make me smile. :)

The guy in front of me noticed him and I swear he nearly hit the beams inthe picture. He did hear the guy in front of me and looked around and then hunched down. I felt a little bad that he was self conscious about it.

Hope all the moms ot there are having a great day!

I am still in DHS post DVC visit and I knew I had to hit Star Tours.

I knew this was going down for refurb so I figured I would get pictures now. I knew I would be back in Sept . before it closed but It might be crowded.

I read that the initials are the imagineers and the numbers are the birthdays. I think they also used the family members of the imagineers too.

Hi Rex

I realize that listening to the 4 parks cd I know the music. Maybe too well.

That’s about as odd as my kids doing the whole audio when it went out during a trip in ’01. My DS really liked the ride so we rode several times since he was tall enough for ST but did not like RnR or Tot at the time.

There we were in the ride and it started and all of a sudden the audio goes out. My kids in the dork fashion they are, just start doing it, the shooting the voices, the sound effects everything. The whole pod is just laughing.
When the ride stops the CM opens up the door and we tell him “ We lost the audio, can we ride again?”. The others confirm this but add “Hey the kids did a good job though.” We rode again but it was one of the funniest memories I have of Disney.

Now that I have properly documented Start Tours before the rehab it is time for a little package pick up.

That sounds hilarious....wish I could have been on that particular Star Tours ride.

Good job documenting ST before the reburb. :thumbsup2

That's too funny your kids doing the audio for ST. I'm impressed that they had it all down. Another memory made. :thumbsup2

It was one of those spontaneous moments. They both did it, quite naturally in fact and the rest of the pod was rather impressed.

Almost time for 2.0, it opens later this month.

It was a funny moment. I know Ds rode it a bunch because he would not ride RnR or ToT back then but my DD had it down too. I guess we did spend some quality time in Star Tours. :rolleyes1

Sometimes I find myself giggling and doing the shooting when I hear the 4 parks Star Tours audio.

You have raised them well, my friend. :thumbsup2

Aside from it being a closed-in ride (I have to look straight ahead and concentrate on the screen when they shut the side doors), it's one of my favorite parks rides. It's just bouncy enough to be fun, but not too bouncy to hurt. We are very much looking forward to the new version. I don't know anything about Star Wars, but I really enjoy the ride.

On to package pick-up! :cool1:

Ok, that is hilarious that your kids took over when the audio went down! How awesome!

Package pick up? Whaddya get????

Hope you had a great Mother's Day yesterday!

Great pictures of the ride. We have never done Star Tours before so I was anxious to see what it is about. We may have to give it a try this summer.

Too cute about your children!

Hope you had a great Mother's Day.

That must have been completely hysterical! I'm always afraid the audio will cut out on me while riding IaSW or CoP- then the whole place would catch me singing the songs full tilt.
