The Side effects of the AP-Trip#6 Oct 10 Final thoughts and some TMI

You have raised them well, my friend. :thumbsup2

Aside from it being a closed-in ride (I have to look straight ahead and concentrate on the screen when they shut the side doors), it's one of my favorite parks rides. It's just bouncy enough to be fun, but not too bouncy to hurt. We are very much looking forward to the new version. I don't know anything about Star Wars, but I really enjoy the ride.

On to package pick-up! :cool1:

That is one of my most favorite memories. It was spontaneous, and both of them were doing it together. ( and not fighting ) It was just that moment in time.

Great pictures of the ride. We have never done Star Tours before so I was anxious to see what it is about. We may have to give it a try this summer.
You will have to report back since you will get the new and improved version.

Too cute about your children!

Hope you had a great Mother's Day.

They were 11 and 8 at the time. I was a bit surprised that they both actually had the script and sound effects down. they can remember the script but not where they left thier socks???

I hope you had great day too!

That must have been completely hysterical! I'm always afraid the audio will cut out on me while riding IaSW or CoP- then the whole place would catch me singing the songs full tilt.

I think they were going along with it and then the sound stopped but they continued on. :rotfl2: I am glad it got a good reception.

all caught up! I would SO not be amused by mousekeeping at 9:55. They were actually at our door at 8:15 on our check out day this past trip which did not amuse me either. I mean check out is 11, what if people were sleeping in? I think it's rude. Jeff is always good about hanging the do not disturb sign on our door no matter what and i need to remember that trick when I travel without him.

I have to admit, your DVC tour makes me glad I didn't do one on this last trip. LOL!

I love the fact your kids provided the audio, that's outstanding :thumbsup2

I should have put out the DND sign but when I got home at 3 am I was not thinking about it. :rolleyes1 I found out the next day i did not even have one so it would not have mattered anyway.

:lmao: I know what you mean.

The fact that they remembered every word and shot fired amazed me too. When they were that age, they could not remember to turn in homework but can remember a whole attraction audio? :rotfl2:

Sorry guys, life getting in the way here. Ultra Swim is this weekend and work is ramping up as summer draws near.
Ultra Swim is Charlotte annual huge swim meet where many Olympians come and compete. I spent Fri night and most of Sat at the pool and I am live streaming finals while on the Dis and catching up on TV.

No "incidents" this year ... yet. I am still officiating Sun Am so it is not over. I did get the chance to see several old employees and one kid I taught how to swim. His sister was working hospitality( food) so I talked with her a good bit.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Last I left was on Star Tours where I wanted to remember 1.0 as 2.0 is about to come on line. A fond memory of my kids reciting the audio when it went out one trip was also remembered.

I exited the ride and found myself here, of course

Out into the dump shop

IMG_4662.jpg

I walk across to the restroom.

IMG_4663.jpg

Man she must be hot.

IMG_4664.jpg

Back by the hat.

IMG_4665.jpg

IMG_4666.jpg

I bid farewell to DHS and set out once again to BW. I had a mission to complete.

IMG_4667.jpg

A turtle.

IMG_4668.jpg

I make it to the BW and pass this on the way to the lobby.

I think I asked the same CM Brook asked for directions to Community Hall to help in finding a package. A care package from Anita and Mark ( wigd and Shocker)was waiting for me. I went to the Concierge desk just to ask. He could not even point me to luggage services. Really? I walk back out toward the check in area. I finally found three guys at a desk that turns out to be luggage service. Seinfeld Hellos ensue ( helllllooooo , heeeellloooo) and after we all have a good laugh he was able to retrieve the package.

Anita and Mark were nice enough to leave some items they did not finish during their stay. Drinks and snacks and they were kept cold too!

Have I mentioned yet how hot it was? I did? Really? Many times now? So hot, I felt like I had to pick up my feet more when I walked just to be sure I did not start a fire by dragging them. :lmao:

Package in hand I begin the looonnnng walk to the boat dock. Smarty pants I was I decide to go to the Swolfin instead of waiting at the Boardwalk and melting.
I walked back towards the Swolfin with my cold drinks and snacks, my heavy cold water and snacks. I had to stop to chug 2 of the Roarin waters when I got to the bridge. So hot and those felt so good. Thanks Anita and Mark.

IMG_4672.jpg

IMG_4673.jpg

I approach the Swolfin and there seems to be a military wedding going on. Lots of uniforms and people dressed way more fancy that I around. I boarded the boat back to DHS and then back to POP.

IMG_4674.jpg

IMG_4675.jpg

When I got back to POP this cloud greeted me.

IMG_4677.jpg

I was also in a fridge swap so I got a cart, and went to pick up a fridge from Kalieghbug . That went off without a hitch.
Somehow during this transfer I must have smashed my big toe. It did not look smashed and with my blisters from the crocs I had a hard time telling. Weeks later I realized I must have smashed it just below the cuticle because there is blood blister and the nail begins to lift up. It finally finished growing back by the end of March.:scared1:

After I finish moving the fridge and returning the cart, I decide this is the night I want to get to the Poly and catch the fireworks.

To the Bus stop.

It is 8:20 EWP is at 9. Would I make it?

ahhh, a nice episode of paying it forward! Lovely!

I must say, that was a heavy price to pay for a fridge- toenails don't come cheap! OUCH!

what is it with these CMs not knowing basic info about their resorts? :confused3 Doesn't that like get taught during orientation or something?
:confused3

Yeah! she did look very hot! I'll bet she was longing to be in the pool or on Kali!

I am still in DHS post DVC visit and I knew I had to hit Star Tours.

I knew this was going down for refurb so I figured I would get pictures now. I knew I would be back in Sept . before it closed but It might be crowded

Wow, one last ride on Star Tours before the upgrade, and you get to ride right next to Liesa!!!

There we were in the ride and it started and all of a sudden the audio goes out. My kids in the dork fashion they are, just start doing it, the shooting the voices, the sound effects everything. The whole pod is just laughing.
When the ride stops the CM opens up the door and we tell him “ We lost the audio, can we ride again?”. The others confirm this but add “Hey the kids did a good job though.” We rode again but it was one of the funniest memories I have of Disney.
Such a cool story and memory! :goodvibes

Last I left was on Star Tours where I wanted to remember 1.0 as 2.0 is about to come on line.

I read the review of the soft opening, and it sounds fabulous. We have it high on our list of things to do for this summer. :cool1:

Wigd and Shocker are always so kind to leave their leftovers. We've been the beneficiary of those a couple of times, too. So nice that the water came in handy for you right then.

Concierge couldn't get you to luggage services?!?!? That's messed up!

Gotta love the Pop stop at Hollywood Studios. :thumbsup2 Everywhere else, we have to walk to the farthest ends of the bus stops, but at good old DHS, they treat us like royalty.

I don't think I have ever seen the dump shop at Star Tours so empty before! It is usually wall to wall people when we are there.

Agreed! Last time we were there I kinda wanted to look around but there were soooooooo many people. So I left hubby, the Star Wars freak, to fend for himself and went on my way.

So to hear about your toe! Ouch! But yay for snacks and cold water!

what was funny was it had no idea until hours later when I was tending to the other war wounds, it was a tender spot and then days or even a weeklater I noticed the toenail issue.:confused3

Go figure. Sometimes it just hit or miss with the CM's.

Yeah! she did look very hot! I'll bet she was longing to be in the pool or on Kali!

Can you imagine her swimming in that?

that is the bribe for DS to go NYE. ;)

I was beyond grateful!:cloud9:

Concierge couldn't get you to luggage services?!?!? That's messed up!
I was befuddled. But then again the Luggage services area did not have a sign that I noticed.;)

Gotta love the Pop stop at Hollywood Studios. :thumbsup2 Everywhere else, we have to walk to the farthest ends of the bus stops, but at good old DHS, they treat us like royalty.

I also love the short trip.

Must have been a rare moment. I think the announcement of it going down for refurb might have made people think it was already closed.

So to hear about your toe! Ouch! But yay for snacks and cold water!

Usually if I do that much damage I want to know when I did it. I really had no idea until it was tender later on.

Wow, one last ride on Star Tours before the upgrade, and you get to ride right next to Liesa!!!

by the time she met me, my pedi was WAY overdue- obviously, I should have gone with that day over at the GF spa!! :sad2:

I take the bus to MK and decide to take the boat to the Poly. I have never taken the boat and seems like the thing to do.

IMG_4684.jpg

We wait and wait again. Me and a couple with a little boy Chase. And boy did they. He was good but wanted to go,go,go. Heck, me too.

We waited for what seemed to be an eternity. In reality it was 10 minutes. Boat finally comes.

IMG_4685.jpg

IMG_4687.jpg

We are cutting it close. I wanted time to go by the bar and pick up a Mai Tai. I am chatting with this couple. I mention the EWP and fireworks. They have no idea this happens every night at the Poly. WHAT ?!?!?!? People Shheesh.

IMG_4688.jpg

IMG_4693.jpg

IMG_4697.jpg

Then IT happens. We stop at the GF and are chugging towards the Poly.
Here come the barges.

OH NO the parade starts and we are on the boat. Mini snit occurs. I really wanted to relax, drink in hand and be sitting on the beach. I could go through the whole, this ruined it blah blah blah.
But LOOK
I am on the boat and CLOSER to the Parade!

IMG_4700.jpg

IMG_4703.jpg

I get to see the EWP :yay: After it finishes we dock and I head to the bar.

I pass this and have to laugh. You know they placed this sign here just because someone somewhere did it.

IMG_4707.jpg

IMG_4709.jpg

I order the wings and a Mai Tai. Clinta serves me and another couple sit near me and have no idea about the fireworks on the beach. REALLY ?! More people who have no idea what magic goes on around them!!

Well I think I will just continue to keep that secret now. We don’t want everyone knowing about this.

IMG_4712.jpg

I order a second Mai Tai and Clinta puts it in a cup so I can take it to the beach. I make my way down to the beach.

Get ready for Summer Nightastic!!!

Now with my new camera, I should be able to get a better shot.

10 pm and Summer nightastic.

After the fireworks I went back to the boat dock. I was in no rush to get back. Quite a few people were also on the dock. I met some people from Dallas TX and somehow we got on the topic of teenage boys and how they eat a lot. I performed some customer service when a boat came in. I used my best customer service skills when I directed, without pointing, palm out and using all fingers, all the boats occupants to the exit.

We get blocked by the EWP again while it is playing at the MK. Not a good angle this time at all. We dock and I make it over to the busses.
As I pass the All Star lines.

IMG_5073.jpg

A CM Dave from Medford NY, near where I went to college is directing busses, I had 2 Mai Tais so I will talk to anyone.

IMG_5075.jpg

As we all herd on the bus I see a hippie and his girlfriend. He sits and his girlfriend and I both stand. I did not want to sit but Jeez, give the seat to your girl.

Now it is about 11pm. Not really late but park close late. You would think the busses would play slower music. Pop has some Sinatra and Big band music, I have heard it. I am sure they have no control over it but listen to the play list.

YMCA, Hot, Hot, Hot, Bohemian Rhapsody, the Looney tune theme, Huffalumps and Woozels, the Rest of the Whinny the Pooh songs. I was waiting for the chicken dance. So yes with 2 Mai Tais I am dancing the whole way back to POP. I am probably singing too. And laughing. And having a great time.
We get to POP and I walk through and Mickey Mouse Club is playing, I march and sing along through the food court.

Not really loud but probably loud enough.

No Tye dye cheesecake after 11pm. Boo Hiss.

I walk by Petals.

IMG_5076.jpg

No I did not get another drink. At least I have not notes or pictures that I did.
I get up to the room and watch Stacy. My notes… I add at the bottom after a squiggle,…

Teamboat Springs- You can throw the whole family in that puppy. I guess I thought that was funny.

I pass out.
