I cannot tell you how important this is!!! The downloading that is. Resting is overrated.

Ther is a power source and an outlet in the jungle there. I guess it was better job than I thought.

I thought I would share an update of my progress.

I am continuing to run/walk. I am running at least 3-4 minutes and only walking 1-2 minutes.
I am trying to run more - walk less and do it more often.
i have started timing out the 5k and recording the mile splits and .... <drumroll>
I have been keeping 15 minute miles and mostly less that that and
the 5K time is under 45min, by 1 or 2 seconds.

The knees have stopped protesting as much- they let me know they are there but I think the taping ( vs bracing) works the best.

I am out of the hate running mode and into the this is not so bad mode.

I have less than 5 months. thanks to dawn (punkin413) posting that on FB.

by one or two seconds. OK, seriously, Pat, I'm your biggest cheerleader!! I started my training again yesterday, and actually joined a gym for the treadmill. I've decided that the cruel fate of me having to live in Oregon means I will NEVER see spring, let alone summer (coast range saw snow plows again over the weekend!) so the gym it will have to be for me.

I am back to walking more than running, but am excited to see my progress over the months. Think more about our phone call, my friend!

I was toying around with doing a trip with just me and Hannah for her 10th birthday next year. Her birthday is in June and school would get out right before her birthday. Then I got to thinking that there would be drama because I wasn't taking Alison (from Clay's Mom and sister) even though there's no way in heck her Mom would let her go on a trip like that with just me and Clay would probably whine about not going as a family so I don't know if I want to deal with all that.

What is really funny is that I went out again today - 1 day rest and usually that means a real hard and crummy run but the 5K time was 41:12!!!! How did that happen????? I am sure teh next one will be back to 45 but at least now I know i can do it and not just squeak it in.

Being inside won't so bad, I prefer outside too but hey if it is snowing- inside is better thatslushing through snow.

I am thinking about that phone call. If things continue the way they have been iwould be up for it.

Since I had a double post I thought I would share what happened after my run.
While I was running I notice the water utility guys out in the neighborhood. Other than being self conscious as I ran past them, I paid them no attention.

I get home, make notes about the run and record time ( yes I am that geek but it really helps), I go shower and ice the old knees. I ready to head into work and go to the kitchen so I can get some ice water to rehydrate and I lift the faucet and ...




NOTHING- I guess those wonderful utility guys shut water off to my part of the neighborhood. Luckily I did not put off getting in the shower or was not IN the shower when they decided to turn the water off.

Yes on my way out I passed them and rolled down my window to ask how much longer the water would be off. They said about an hour, I told them they were lucky I got my shower in before they turned it off.

We're going to miss everyone that first week of October, but it will be great getting to read so many good reports about the 40th anniversary celebration and the race. Jill said we'd shoot for being there on the 50th, if I'm still around. If not, I will haunt her because we didn't go on the 40th.

I have had near misses many times.


The best one was when they were in my yard at another house. I hear a ripping boom, and look outside. Three guys standing over a hole and water pouring out.

I yell out in most annoyed voice - What are you doing? Don't just stand there looking at it- DO SOMETHING!!!!

I arrive at the DVC Sales office and have a seat.

I look around and up at the murals

I get ushered back to a room. The CM Fernando- starts his spiel. Now I have heard, no pressure, but it is still a sales pitch. He was no different. What I found amazing is that he was offering both BLT and AKL and I said price BLT just for kicks. Well he basically ignored me and went on to price AKL since that is what I would want. Huh???? I knew enough going in to ask some questions but I did not think I would stump him. Maybe he was new?? He was trying hard to not to let me leave but eventually I did with a Disney Gift card to boot. Once he realized that no sale was taking place, he was not the suave salesman he was before.
I got my ice cream and went back to DHS. It was good to get the info. I walk back in to DHS a bit after 4pm. I still had to pick up my goodie bag from the BC but I had to do it on the way back to POP so I would not be lugging it through the park.


Down Sunset to use my FP and I hit a roadblock.

I immediately pick up another FP for Tot because I must always have one in hand

I then join the FP line for RnR. I see this.

The FP line is long but the Single rider is short. I hop over to the Single rider and save the FP.

I ride twice and the second time the line is going really slowly. The second time I spent 20 min in line. The guy in front of me goes WOW and I turn to see this.

This guy was huge. I think he heard the guy and maybe me with the camera because he started slouching down. Sorry guy.

I go a third time but use the FP- now the single rider line is empty. Go figures. Walk across park to see this.

But, hearing what it's all about was probably a good thing for someone who hears about it all the time here on the DIS. DId that make sense?

I'd love to hear more about the reasons you chose NOT to go DVC.

That Streetmosphere Lady is too funny. We have a hilarious story with her. Did you stop and interact with her?

I'm glad you got the gift card. Most people go to the timeshare talks just for the free swag, right? If you really wanted to annoy him, you could have kept raising your hand and pointing out geographical errors on the murals.

It was for $10.00. If I was staying at a Deluxe with DVC- Boardwalk, Beach Club, Wilderness, AKL and maybe CR. it would have been $100.00.

I got my earring and part of something else for free so I am not really complaining.

It was a good experience for me. I was trying to slow down a bit and I don't feel I wasted time by going. i was fine up until I said I was not going to buy and then I almost felt like I was never going to leave.
