Thank goodness I had the big lenses from our 35mm Canon rebel. You're right they are . You can't beat the pics we get with our camera and the bigger lens when we do the safari. The pics are beautiful. Joe thinks he's so cool with that big lens on the camera.. The standard lens does a great job too though and is plenty of lens for most pics. Maybe you could talk Dale and the kids into a bigger lens for Mother's Day.

I looked at some of the 75mm-300mm lenses and they are about $150 I don't think I will need more than that, ya think? The one I am looking at doesn't have the image stabilization, but I think it will be OK? The one with IS is over $500 . I want the extra zoom lens so I can get the good pictures at AK and take pictures at the beach. That is a very good idea for a Mother's Day present

Over 15,000 pics later we've had very few pics that weren't crisp and clear and when they weren't it was my fault. Hope you get to try it out more this weekend. Thanks for the info Leanne. I will get that lens. I hope it isn't raining this weekend I want to get out and take some pix with my camera. I went outside tonight to look at the moon and try to get a pic of it, but I couldn't find it.........

Got a call from the doctor's office this morning. They had to cancel my appointment for tomorrow and reschedule me for Friday at 1:35 PM . The lady said Dr Daugherty had surgeries scheduled for the whole day and she wanted to know if I would like to reschedule? Of course, I wanted today, but she said they didn't have anything. I am really disappointed, but I have to just take it one day at a time and realize I am closer to getting back to work today than I was yesterday. I called work and told them and had them put me on the schedule for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday. I soooooo hope they don't cancel on my again

Thank you Leanne. I was really disappointed, but I guess I have to keep my eye on the total picture?..... Thanks about the picture, the weather was soooooooo nasty here today I didn't even get my camera out of the bag and I was so busy. I had a few spots on the walls that needed touching up so I broke out the paint and before I knew it I was touching up walls in every room of the house . Now that I have started I have to finish. I guess that is the thing about cledaning, once you start you see more and more that needs to be done. Still have the carpet cleaner out too following behind Niko. I do need to go back to work so I can get some rest.

I wish there was more planning to do for Disney, but right now I guess we are just in the wait mode.

I love my camera. Like I said I really haven't had the chance to play with it. I hope we get out and go somewhere this weekend so I can try it out. It takes amazingly clear pictures. I have got to get the zoom lens so I can get some real close ups.

It did upset me that I had to reschedule my appointment, but I will just take it as I get it . I hope they don't reschedule me again, because then they may see the "other Dana" come out

This is the zoom lens I have as well and I LOVE it!! We used it a lot at WDW!!

That is good to know. Now I feel comfortable getting that lens. I love taking pictures and it really is important to me to get a good lens so I can have some quality pictures.

Thanks April. I love my camera. It is such a pretty day here today I am going to get the boys outside so I can take some pictures. I hope they turn out good and I will post them. Dale and the kids don't know it yet, but I ordered my lens today shhhhhhhhhhh. I want to have it asap. I now have my birthday and Mother's day gifts all at once...... Niko is feeling better and he only has a couple of pills left. He was so bad at the vets office. If they had just shown me how to handle the IV I could have done that here and saved us $654 dollars . I think my appointment will go well, I'm a nurse so I know just what to say . I am looking forward to getting back to work and getting back to normal.

Here are some pictures I took this afternoon. I have to learn how to compensate for the shadows. There is this really cool site online that will adjust your photos for you so I am going to upload these photos to their site and see what it does about the shadows. I have Photoshop, but it is just way to complicated for such simple things. I also ordered my telephoto lens today and I had it overnighted so I will have it tomorrow.

The second picture is the edited picture. I can't see much of a difference, maybe his face doesn't have quite as much shadow? I don't know, but anybody that knows how to work with the shadows let me know so when I take pictures again I can take the picures and not have shadows. I had the flash on so that isn't the answer in this case.

Thank you Connie. I made his get dressed and everything. He said, "Cain't I just wear what I got on?", it was an old Kyle Busch shirt(I'm not a big Kyle fan) and a pair of shorts . Boys, just little men .

I can't remember if I posted the model or not, but it is a Canon EOS Rebel XS 1000D. I can't wait until tomorrow when I get my telephoto lens .
