One of my friends at work says I'm a stubborn redhead..........lol. I can't stand the idea that I am locked away. Seeing the Walmart commercials make me feel giddy thinking I may get to go there this weekend .

Oh, boy, what a day! I can picture you hobbling in on crutches, soaking wet. I probably would have cried! You did a good job!! Don't over do it though

I did look a mess by the time it was all over with. I have naturally wavy hair and I had blow dried it straight.........so you can imagine how it looked after I got soaking wet <<<<<just like his......... I think I would have cried if Ms Judy had made me go get my drivers license.

Omg, what a day. I'm proud of you for figuring all that out. Pain can make us do stupid things for sure. Glad you got your meds. It was to the point if you didn't get them you were going to have to have something stronger. And you got your paperwork so that is a good thing. Now maybe you can start getting more money. I know it is truly needed by now.

It was a day. When I got in the car to go you would have thought I was a 16 yo who had just been given the keys to the car. It was almost intoxicating . I'm hoping the payroll department at work doesn't drag their feet getting the papers filled out. I NEED SOME MONEY . Well, I'm not selling organs yet, but give me 3 weeks and I may have a kidney on ebay........

I did rest today and it was nice too .

The first thing I noticed when I read your post was the time....2:00 in the morning!

Poor thing. I am so sorry that you had to go through all of that. But, I also know that it had to feel good to get out of the house and do something productive. You also got to see you co-workers.

I have taken to staying up till all hours of the night, and morning, my days are running together. It felt fantastic to get out of the house and me actually be the one at the helm. I wish I could have waited till Wednesday because they had our Christmas lunch

I was tired today, but that was OK. I do worry about doing more damage to my leg though, but I knew I had to get all that paper work and stuff done. Shame on you Don't use the words May and Rain in the same sentence XXXXXXXXX........... When the doctor said 2-3 months off work I started adding now if it is 2 months I will go back to work at the end of January, 3 months the end of February. I should be back up to par by then. Right? Yeah.......

OH yeah, I almost forgot the news of Wednesday. I was talking to a co-worker on facebook and she asks me if I heard about what had happened to our assistant nurse manager(Shirley), I told her no. Well, her 6 week old grand baby had to be put in the hospital a couple of days ago with RSV so Shirley has been trying to get off work. When census is low we can request to be called off work, that gives us a day off and another nurse the chance to work and get hours and it doesn't count against us. We are all pretty good at taking our turn and so forth. So this morning about 4:30 or 5:00 Erica called Shirley to give her the day off, and as Shirley was trying to get to the phone she slipped and fell and broke her arm Now, there are two day shift nurses out in nursery(Shirley and Me) and one night shift nurse out on peds.

We are all getting clumsy........

Oh my goodness. Poor Shirley. Where my friend works the NIC unit here they are doing the same thing. Their census is very low for some reason. I think they only have 11 babies right now. A month ago it was over 30. She had tons of time off which she likes but she is using her comp time so she can still get paid. She isn't going to have any vacay left at this rate.

I know that feeling of independence and being out on your own. When I broke my leg I had to depend on people to drive me back and forth to work and after a month of that the Dr. said I could start driving. Left leg thank goodness. So 9 months on crutches non weight bearing, 3 months with a cane I was so ready to get that part of my life over. Sandi was a sophomore and Sheri 8th grade. I ended up missing 3 weeks of work. 1 week in the hosp. and 2 weeks in therapy everyday.

You can and will get thru this. You have great strength and HE will provide.

Dana, I had not realized I had not been over in so long....I am so sorry to be such a bad disser friend! when I was under the weather I was not keeping up with anyone and I have been so busy trying to catch up with Christmas since I started so late !


First, great date night!!! and yes I have been to Perdido although Danny still prefers to drive all the way to FWB; so it has been a number of years since I have been there. I'm sure it is nothing like I remember!!!

Next, I'm so happy that you were able to go to the mall and get out I know that you have been wanting to do that!

Now, onto your RX adventure I can't believe you did not at least take Dallas with you to help you carry everything.... WOW!! what an office setup....I use to deal with the front desk, take msg, fill msg, fill out the insurance forms, legal forms, pull charts for the next day, and when I found the time between checking in and out the pts I answered the phone....I would have loved a spot where I only had to do one of those things...not really!! I enjyoed the rush....and loved it even more when I was able to help out in the back if an asst was gone!!! we only had three doctors and two at a time...but, we were the only ortho surgerons in the parish... CAN YOU SAY BUSY!!

I 'm so sorry to hear about your friend Shirley I hope she is able to help with her grandbaby and still take care...

One day after the holidays we will have to plan a meet.... Danny is looking forward to it as much as we are!!! Hopefully, you can get around a little better as you learn how to get out on your own!!!

I know where I want to go this weekend, I want to go to Publix. They have fresh pizza dough that you roll out and yummy, yummy, yummy store made pizza sauce and fresh mozzarella cheese. YUMMMMMMMMMM that would be a good Christmas eve dinner. Dallas LOVES to help me make homemade pizza and I promise you can't find better pizza dough than Publix. They have some of the best looking cakes I have ever seen so I may buy one for our dessert for Christmas.

April, Lisa and Becky I got the Christmas cards. I have been sending Tyler out to the mailbox daily to check it for me because the cards help pick my spirit up. Ya'll I truly have a hard time being stuck in the house. It was a beautiful day yesterday, but the rain came back today .

I have some pictures of my tree so I am going to post them and a video of Niko "talking". See what happens to the mind when you have limited human interaction.

You have to ignore the crazy lady talking in the background. The poor dog would have cooked dinner if I had asked him to just so I would leave him alone........






The masks you see on the wall are from New Orleans. I have had them for over 25 years. I bought them at the French Market. I really need to change the ribbons on them, but I hate to change anything on them.

I was playing the video and Niko was looking at me and wondering where my voice was coming from . Thank you Ginny. We have soooooooo many ornaments I would need 8 or 9 trees to use them all. The masks were to be the start of a collection, but I never collected any more.

I have never tried to make the dough myself, I have always bought the kits. It is a chore with the Publix crust too because it is hard to roll out. One done though it is so good. I have to make 2 large pizzas.

I hope ya'll have a good weekend too. It is suppose to be sunny and cool here, I am more than ready to see the sun. I hope everybody has gotten the cards I sent out. I will be watcing the mail.

I didn't get it today Connie, so it will probably be in the mail tomorrow. Did you get yours? I don't think Niko likes doing it too much . He just does it for me and Dale. Dale can make him sound like he is really talking... I will have to get Dale to make Niko say he loves Ashton.

I am going to try and talk Dale into coming to NO around my birthday and if we do I will look for some more masks.

Thanks about the tree. I want a big ole fat tree. I have decided I am going to move some stuff around and next year have the whole corner to put my tree in. I may just have to do that this weekend . I will have to sneak it in on Dale though, if I come right out and say something about it he will try and talk me out of it.

Thanks Pam. Niko things he is a boy, I swear he does. I only have part of my Disney ornaments on the tree. I am going to organize my ornaments this year. I made myself a promise . I saw that tree topper too Pam and I want it so bad. I may have to just cave in and get it for myself for Christmas .

I'm going to post about my Saturday, it was super fun and the weather was beautiful. I'm glad you got the card. I still have two more to send out and then I will be done. I'm excited about Christmas almost being here .
I forgot to check the mail yesterday, I was so tired when we finished the day.

For some reason tonight I started with a migraine and it is one of those nagging type that just seems to want to hang on, not the blinding, lock yourself in a dark room type, just the it won't leave me alone type. But anyway I refuse to give in to any more pain. I will forge ahead . So Saturday was a very good, full, fun day. On Friday I spoke with my good friend Lisa. We have been friends for almost 30 years. She lives in Pensacola. I called her to see if she wanted to meet up for lunch Saturday since we were going to ride over.

Before going to lunch we had a few things we needed to do. I wanted a pair of headphones for Christmas and Dale wanted a new recliner, yeah he likes the expensive stuff..... We went and looked at a few recliners, but we wanted to talk it over before making a decision. We headed to BestBuy to check out the headphones and I found a pair that are really nice. They are called Skullcandy. They have a sub-woofer on them....... I like to rock out . I'm not sure how good they will be, but I will have to let ya'll know. While we were at BB, I saw the G-Force DVD so I had to get it for Dallas.

Now, just a little background on Lisa and my friendship. She is my oldest nephew's ex wife, they have been divorced almost 22 years. They got married when they were 17 and they have 3 children together, Dwayne is 27, Joseph is 25, and Bekah is 24, they are the grandchildren to my sister Pat, who passed away in July. Despite their divorce Lisa and I have remained friends. There was a period when we lost contact, but when we started talking again it was as if no time had even passed. Bekah has two little girls, Mariah 4 and Taylee 2.

I haven't seen them since my sister's funeral and I wanted to catch up. We decided to eat at....................can you guess?...............Vallarta's.........lol. Dale and I got there first and then Lisa, Randy(Lisa's DBF), and Mariah came in. She said Bekah and Taylee were following and that she had spoken to Joe and he was going to join us too.............. Dwayne is in Atlanta so he couldn't be there. My 3 were at home, they didn't want to come .
Dale and I had gotten the girls a Christmas gift and I didn't want to just give it to them without Bekah's permission, so I was holding Taylee and whispered, very quietly, to Bekah to let me know if she wanted to just take the presents home, I didn't want to cause a problem with Santa. After about 10 minutes, as we were all sitting around eating, Taylee looks at me from across the table and very softly asks, "Aunt Dana, what you get me?" I almost choked on my chip....

After we finished eating we went out to the parking lot and gave the girls their presents. We gave Mariah a Barbie and Taylee a Tinker Bell doll. I wanted one of the Tinker Bell dolls, but they didn't have any more .

You can see my lovely designer leg wear in the picture. It was really funny seeing Mariah hug Dale, because she had been stand offish all day. Hey, give a girl a gift and they was hug you every time . If you look close they both have a bag of M & M's. Dale just HAD to put some candy in the bags. I told him Bekah was going to kill him. They loved their dolls, but Taylee was happier with the M & M's. I have a Tinker Bell tag on the front of my truck. I showed it to the girls and they was just awed. They thought it was so pretty. They both had on princess shoes, and if you ask Mariah what she is she will say "I'm a princess", if you ask Taylee she will say "I'm a gurl"....

So, after many, many hugs we parted ways. When we got back to Mobile we went and bought Dale his new recliner , and we still had to go to the grocery store.

Thus we had a very good Saturday. The only thing that would have made it better would have been for Amanda, Tyler, Dallas and Dwayne to have been there.

My migraine is now gone .

So glad you liked the Christmas card!! The girls LOVED yours!!! And I just LOVE your Disney tree!! I plan on having one next year--I've been buying ornaments on clearance and I bought the Tinkerbell tree topper from the Disney Store.

So sorry you had a migraine! I get migraines a lot--but I see lights, get blind spots, and have to go lay down in a dark room. They are no fun! What a sweet family get together! It looks like you had a wonderful time!!
