THE RETURN of THE WHATLEYS MAY 21-30. Our trip is done, now time for the TR :(

I know how proud you must be of Amanda. It is so nice when a child has a goal and strives very hard to see it thru. It makes you want to do all you can to help them. We are that way with Austin. His whole life he has known his plan. Just not sure of what kind of work he would get into. We always said he would have to be his own boss not that he is not good with taking orders he is very good at being the leader.

Tell your insurance girl Connie to call me, I'll fix them right up. Oh, how I wish I could for you for sure. It's that not knowing the outcome that makes it so hard for you.

Cookies sound like fun. I have always had my girls and grandchildren work in the kitchen with me. It is tons of fun and they feel like they have acomplished something.

Lacey has one more year and will have her degree in Humanities. I have no idea what the heck you do with a degree in Humanities. We fought for almost a year before she went to Mission Georgia Master's Commission. The tuition is $11,000.00 a year and they can have no job at all. I told her if she could come up with half of the money, I'd quit fussing. I just couldn't see her making a living doing something like missionary work or work in a church.

The people at our church stood behind her and donated over $3,000.00. They also pledged to keep sending her money the first year. So, I stopped fussing. I still worry a lot though. I don't know how in the world she's going to earn money to live.

Right now, she is dating one of her fellow Mission students, Jessie. His parents are pastors and travel all over the United States helping children who have been abused. They also run a homeless shelter in Tennessee. Jessie has traveled to India and two other countries that I can't remember doing missionary work.

The thought of Lacey going out of the country scares me to death. Heck, I am scared to death when I know it's her day to work at the homeless shelter in Atlanta. She said some of the people are nice to her and some are downright mean to her.

I just continue to pray for her every day. I know that the good Lord above has a plan for Lacey. I just hope that plan is to keep her safe and sound in the good ole U.S.A.

Good morning dear Dana. I hope you are having a grand day. I wish you were here with me enjoying the 16 degree temp and snow flurries. Ok, I lied. I do wish I were there with you tho. That is no lie and not because of the weather either. I hope you can have a semi-productive day and your pain and aggravation is not as severe.

Ginny

Morning Dana,

Just getting around to post my "good mornings". I read that you and the hubby have a date tonight. I know you are ready to get out of the house. Hope the leg is not paining you too much today. (gosh that sounded just like something off of an old Western movie:laughing:)

Hey! Dana
seen you have a date tonight....:yay: I know that will feel good to get out!!! I don't have a hurt foot but I get like that alot I just want to get out of the house and do something that is not geared to a three yr old

Have a great evening!!!
:wave2: Connie

Sorry I have been MIA- I wasn't getting e-mail notification- and I realized I hadn't subscribed!! That was a big DUH on my part. I missed a ton! I'm going to go back & read through. From this page, though, I wanted to say I hope you get good news from the doctor & congratulations to Amanda. :goodvibes She WILL get that job.

I'm glad you are back! I go MIA for a day or two at times. Thank you April, I know Amanda is really good at what she does, so I have faith she will get the job.

Amanda has always been such a go getter. I had to work hard to get good grades and they seem to come easy to her.

Connie is such a sweet person. Dr D's nurse finally called me back and I told her I needed the letter of medical necessity. So she was suppose to put a note on my chart so the Dr D can write it, but the kicker is......he has been out sick this week and won't be back until Monday :sad2:. I feel like I am running into a wall at every turn.

I knew Amanda wanted to go into the computer field. I thought it would be a good choice. Her freshman year her minor was German language, but sophomore year she decided to change it and was able to get enough business classes to graduate with the double major. She has a couple of friends who are art majors. ART majors? I asked her why in the world they majored in art? The two girls are sisters, one wants to go into graphic design and the other wants to be a painter. I told Amanda that, in my opinion, being a painter was dependent on talent not college.

Amanda's boyfriend is majoring is business of some sort :confused3. Matt's dad is a politician and his mom owns a catering and florist business.

I don't even try to push Tyler. He has got to get more serious before we will even discuss him going to college :rolleyes1.

I know you worry about Lacey. I was holding my breath when Amanda said the home office, for the company she is interviewing with, is in Atlanta. I glad they have an office here in Mobile.

I so wish it would snow here. We didn't get any the other day. It is pretty cool here. It is 39 here now, but it isn't suppose to get much cooler. I didn't accomplish much of anything today. My leg was REALLY hurting today. I called to get the doctor to write me another Rx because I am almost out of pain meds. Well, he is still out and won't be back until Monday. I have 4 pain pills to last until Monday :scared1:. OH, I just wish this was over with. I want to go see the Christmas decorations in the mall :sad1::sad2::upsidedow.

Dana,
I'm so sorry to hear that you are hurting so much! Your doctor doesn't have a partner to call something in (that sux!)...I hope things get straightened out soon for you! Hang in there!!! you need to get out in a wheel chair or wobble over to a bench and just people watch to help you feel the spirit!!!
Connie

Hey Lisa, I can't believe I haven't been on here today. If it weren't for my Dis friends I would be certifiable. I have it all planned..........tell me what you think. I go out rob some banks dressed as an elf, make loads of money, make the tellers feel really bad for me because I am an elf who got injured. Then if I get caught I call your boss to help in my defense AND AND get Ginny's boss to examine me and say I have PTSD brought on by the leg injury and my fragile mind just couldn't take the lack of human interaction and missing out on all the Christmas fun. Yeah that could work............:lmao:. You see what happens when I have WAYYYYYYYYYY to much time on my hands and watch wayyyy too much ID Channel?

Gonna post the date info :lovestruc.

I really have to praise all you wonderful SAHMs. I know your day consists of much much more than I am able to do right now, but I have been running out of ideas to keep me and Dallas busy. I was hurting pretty bad today so we didn't get any extra stuff done, but WE did learn a lot about Cathedrals. That is one wonderful thing about homeschooling, I learn as much as he does. We never studied about cathedrals in school. Did you know cathedrals are typically built in the shape of a cross? I sure didn't. Ginny, how far are you from Highlandsville? The smallest cathedral in the world is there.

Date post coming up :lovestruc

Lets hear about date night!!

Coming up next :lovestruc

How was your date last night??? :)

Coming up next :lovestruc

I was just about to post the same question.:rotfl:

Same here. How was the date? Are you tired this morning? Did Dale manage to get to work? We want to know the whole scoop. Nothing is sacred or to personal on this board.:rotfl:

Ok almost there.............:lmao:.

I HAVE TO SAY THIS................THANK YOU MY WONDERFUL DISISTERS FOR HANGING WITH ME. :grouphug:

OK, so Dale leaves for work at like 6am and I doze back off for a little bit. Well, he scared the bejeebers out of me at about 8:30. I am a very light sleeper and I hear the front door open and Niko goes bonkers barking and growling :scared1:. Connie's friend came to mind and then Dale comes walking into the bedroom :confused3. I forgot that he has to go to Sam's on Wednesdays to pick up stuff for work. So, he takes Niko out for me :goodvibes and heads out to the office. I got up and waddled on into the living room :sad2:. Around 11:30 he calls and says he will be home about 2. Two? Yeah, his boss was going to let him get out early because he knew Dale was taking me out and he also had an ulterior motive :rolleyes1.

I started getting ready about noon because I knew it was going to take a while since I can't stand at the mirror for too long and for some reason I just can't sit down and put on my make-up. Sad huh? At about 1:45 I was finishing up and Dale called and said he was on his way :yay::woohoo::cheer2:. I was seriously excited, like it was our first date .

It felt so nice to be dressed up and getting out of the house. I wore my black jeans and a silver and black sweater. The black jeans were nice because my designer foot/leg wear blended in :lmao:. So off to Pensacola we go. Not only were we going out, but we had some business to take care of too. Dale had to sign some papers on our truck. Since I am off work and don't know when Aflac is going to get started, we extended the loan on our truck for 5 months. Not much, but since I'm not on the note we couldn't use the disability clause on the loan. It actually lowered the payments too :yay:. So now instead of paying off in May, it will be October. OK, OK , OK, so much for that mumbo jumbo.

I love Mexican food, it just has the right blend of spices, textures, colors and flavors. I could sit down and eat a bunch of cilantro right by itself . Now, I know what we get is really Tex-Mex, but that is what I like. The best Mexican food is at Vallarta's. There are several in Pensacola and I think some in south Florida too. There are 3 that we frequent and the managers at all 3 know who we are, sad isn't it, that when we walk in they say "Hey, Señora so nice to see you again"........:lmao: There is one in Perdido Beach(Lisa and Connie may know where Perdido Beach is), one right by Pensacola Naval Air Station and one on Hwy.29 in Ensley. Well, we decided to go to the one on Hwy. 29. The manager here actually use to manage a Mexican restaurant here in Mobile so he has know us for a LONG time. We get there around 4:30. When we walked in after saying "nice to see you" he looks at my leg and says "OH no, what has happened to you?" I tell him "Ruptured Achilles tendon", and he says "That is very painful", I had to agree.

He took us to our table and I, like my Disister Lisa, had to go pee. I waddle to the bathroom and when I got back to the table there was my favorite food in the world waiting for me............SALSA. I will confess, I got a medium frozen margarita. I had not eaten anything all day and had not taken any pain meds since I first got out of bed because I love a good margarita, so I saved up my calories and took only ibuprofen so I could have one. I ordered a chicken chimichanga which comes with refried beans, rice, lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream and guacamole. Dale got a chicken quesadilla which also comes with the beans and rice. YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM is all I can say. After we finished our main course Dale ordered a fried ice cream. Now if you have never had fried ice cream it is out of this world. The ice cream is coated with egg and corn flakes, or something crunchy, then fried. It comes in a flaky cinnamon crust, think sweet cinnamon taco salad shell, topped with whipped topping, chocolate sauce and a cherry. Again YUMMMMMMMMMMMM. When we get one we share, because we are usually full after the main course. We shared this one too. They know us so well they always bring 2 spoons :lmao:. When our waiter brought us our ticket he asked if everything was "OK" and then he says "Maam, I hope you get much better soon". AWWWWWWWW, I think that was really sweet of him.

We leave Vallarta's and we are heading up Hwy 29 and there it is...........a DOLLAR TREE. I love me some Dollar Tree. I talked Dale into going in. I finally got all the stuff I ordered for the bathroom and I need some new pictures and Dollar Tree sometimes has some pretty good pictures. No luck this time :sad1:. If you remember I said Dale's boss had an ulterior motive? Well, he wanted Dale to get him some lottery tickets. Dale works in Mississippi and even though they have casinos, his boss like to play the lottery....:confused3. We head back to Mobile. When we got back in town I needed some stuff so we were going to stop at Walmart, but instead we stopped at Walgreens and I got some flour, baking soda, eggs and a few other odds and ends. We got home about 8:00-8:30.

I had such a GREAT time. It was really nice to be out in the world again. So, I guess today I paid for the few minutes of walking around with my leg hurting all day. Would I do it again? Probably. I had a very good time. With the doctor saying I would probably be out 2-3 months it won't take much to make me happy :goodvibes.

We are so on this. What's our cut?

but WE did learn a lot about Cathedrals. That is one wonderful thing about homeschooling, I learn as much as he does. We never studied about cathedrals in school. Did you know cathedrals are typically built in the shape of a cross? I sure didn't. Ginny, how far are you from Highlandsville? The smallest cathedral in the world is there

Highlandvile is about 25 miles and yes I have been to that Cathedral before. It is really quite pretty. And they have a really good restaurant that has homemade fried chicken. The real stuff. Delish.

Now, on to this wonderful date of yours. Totally well deserved. I bet you looked really nice in the black jeans. I'm sure Dale was thrilled to have a date night too. We eat at that Vallarta's in Perdido Beach when we go beaching in the summer. We really like it too. And I always order the chicken chimi. That is my fav Mexican food. And chips and salsa. I love me some margaritas but on the rocks not frozen. Sounds so yummy. Makes me want to head to the beach. We stay in Perdido Key on the end closest to Pensacola.

I bet you paid the price when you got home being up so much. But I know it was totally worth it. That super sweet hubby of yours making it so special for you. That had to lift your spirits tremendously.

You rest today so you'll feel like going out again.

Love ya bunches

Ginny

Sounds like you and Dale had a wonderful date night. I've gotta tell you that your date nights sound just like mine and John's. The last time we went out by ourselves, we went to eat seafood and then stopped at the Dollar Tree and Big Lots. Whoooey! Do we live it up or what?!?!?:lmao:

I am glad that you got to get out of the house. I know that you needed it!

1. That is SO sweet!

2. I'm the same way about mexican food & I LOVE Cilantro, too!!!

3. I always have to pee & I could strap on a feed bag of salsa & go to town. :lmao:

I'm glad you had such a great date night- you deserve it!

What a great date night Dana! It doesn't have to be fancy to be fun for me either. We went out Saturday to his work's Christmas party, but I'd much rather have a night like what you and Dale had. I'm so glad you got out of the house and had a little fun. :goodvibes

We are so on this. What's our cut?

Ginny, I will cut you and Lisa 25% each. Since I'm the one taking the risk in person..........:lmao::rotfl2:

Next time you go to the cathedral get some pictures. I would love to see it. I sure would like to have some homemade fried chicken. I haven't had any good fried chicken in a while.

I didn't know you stayed in Perdido. Next time you stay we really need to get together. The Vallarta's there is the first one we ever ate at. The Blue Angel's Vallarta's is on the same road but about 10 miles east. I love their food, it is always so good. I love the fajitas too, but I usually get them when Tyler is with me because I can only eat one. I get so full on the chips and salsa. If I got the margarita on the rocks I would drink it too fast :lmao:. I can't make a margarita that tastes like theirs. I have bought all the stuff and made them from scratch and I have bought mixers and they just don't taste the same :confused3.

I really enjoyed being out of the house. I did pay for it, but it was worth it. I am hoping I can get him to take me riding tomorrow. I am going to be on the scooter at Wally World so we can buy groceries, but I want to do more than that. I'm trying to convince him to take us to Bellingrath Gardens to see the Christmas lights.

Yay for date night
Love me some mexixan, but cilantro YUCK-sorry. I :love:salsa
Glad you guys had so much fun. Hope the leg starts to feel better soon.
