THE RETURN of THE WHATLEYS MAY 21-30. Our trip is done, now time for the TR :(

Dana,

I just received your package. You are such a sweetheart.

I hope that you and your entire family have a blessed Christmas. Many hugs and kisses,

Lisa

Awww!! What sweet words Dana!! I am so happy that we've become friends here on the DIS as well!! God really has blessed us with some wonderful friendships here!! Merry Christmas Dana!! :goodvibes

I think the Dis is a wonderful place to get Disney information, but it has become so much more to me. I thank God for all the wonderful people He has brought into my life and the Dis was His tool. MERRY CHRISTMAS BECKY!!

Dana, you took the words right out of my mouth. I started out on the Dis just as you did....seeking information. Never in a million years did I think I'd make such good friends on the Disboards. I now talk about you in my every day life just as if I actually saw you guy every day. God has blessed us all!

I do the same Lisa, I will be talking to someone about ya'll and it seems as if we have all been friends forever. I never thought the Disboards would be the place I would make some of the best friends I have ever had. I never feel uncomfortable talking to ya'll about anything because I know I will get honest heart felt advice. Not to mention some of the strongest women, I've ever been blessed with, to lean on.

Dana, Isn't it amazing how we all feel the same about our friendships. I know for a fact that HE arranged this to happen. As I told Lisa I know it wasn't Al Gore and his internet invention. Even tho he would love to take credit.

I have mentioned to a few that Don and I have decided not to do a cruise this year but we have talked about wanting to meet many of my Dis sisters and he has suggested a long 5 day weekend and making a drive. Starting in West Monroe to NO to Mobile. I will certainly plan it when I know you girls will be available.

Did you get your card from me yet?

I pray your Christmas to be fully blessed and your healing begin. It's time. I know our patience is tried but your trial needs to end.

Much love to you and your wonderful family. I love you all.

Ginny
Ginny you are so funny. Al Gore :lmao:. It IS amazing how we feel!!! I think it is great that we have become so close yet we are so many miles apart. Love knows no boundaries and that is the greatest gift of all. This Christmas I am so full of joy and part of it is due to having ya'll as friends.

You let me know when ya'll are coming this way and I will be there. If I am back at work( I hope, I hope) I am off every other weekend and I can see if I can swap off if it falls on my weekend to work. It would be great to have a GG like event at one of the hotels in Gulfport or Biloxi or even NO. I'm not sure how far that is for you Lisa, but I know for me and Connie it is very doable.

No, I haven't gotten your card yet. That doesn't surprise me with my mail lady though. She could have left it in the mail box down the street. I live in a duplex so sometimes she puts the mail in the wrong box and my neighbors are out of town.

Thank you for the prayers. I had a really, really, REALLY bad day yesterday, but I won't go into it until after Christmas. I have an appointment Monday and lets just say, I may be thrown out of the doctor's office :scared1:.

I love you too Ginny, I am truely honored that you call me your friend.

I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas and eat lots and lots of good food:banana:.

Ginny,

I mentioned your road trip idea to John last night and he got all excited. He said he wants to meet the infamous Ginny that I speak of all the time. We may just have to hop on the road with you so we can meet all of our other Dis friends too.

Hey I'm with John. I am all for a Dis meet any time any place :lovestruc:love:.

Would that be fun or what? I love road trips. We would have a ball. As long as Don doesn't have to eat at Taco Bell. He doesn't know what is good for him. We do Cracker Barrel tho

I'm ready, I'm ready :):love::banana:.

Dana, did you get my card?

:sad2:

Very sweet!! Thanks Dana!! I haven't been on much, have my step daughter here, and just been working...thankfully I still have a job!! :) Chris is home, and with the holidays, it's just been BUSY!!! My house got volunteered for 16 total people, so I've been cleaning like a mad fool!!! Plus the kids are hard to peel away from the computer sometimes!!! I hope ya'll have a VERY happy holidays, and best wishes to your family!!

Christie, I am so glad to hear from you. I can understand how busy you have been. I had planned a Christmas party here, but after I got hurt I had to cancel :sad2:. I could sure use a party right about now. I'm glad you still have your job and I hope all the troubles are over. It is hard enough to work, but to have someone on you all the time just makes it harder. I bet it is so much fun with Chris being home and Tyler having his sister there. I hope ya'll have a blessed and wonderful Christmas and a very Happy New Year.

Hey Ginny- I'll be going home for Christmas, so I'll be up there in your neck of the woods- how neat to meet someone on here from where I am from! I'll be waving at ya!

That is so neat. I'm glad you found Ginny. She is one of the SWEETEST people you would every want to meet. Brandi, I hope you have a safe and wonderful Christmas going home.

Dana, We have been blessed to have you as a friend. I'm am so greatful that I posted on Wendy's report last year as that was the start of so many new friendships here on the DIS. I can't wait to meet up with you,
Dale and Dallas again. :goodvibes I hope you have a fantastic Christmas!! :santa:
 Kinda leaves a big mouth like me speechless.

Hi Brandi, I'm really from far North. SW Missouri actually. My DH and I are planning to drive to West Monroe to pick up Lisa (Mickeystoontown) then go to NO to get Connie (Longing2batdisney) and then to Mobile for Dana. I've decided that is the only way we are ever going to get together.

Sometimes when you can't get to Disney one must improvise.

I've been reading your PTR just haven't made a comment yet.

Have a safe trip and Merry Christmas.

Ginny

I can have a bag packed at the drop of a hat!! Just say the word.

Dana you are such a stinker. Thanks so much for our surprise! You REALLY did not have to do that! But thank you for being so kind.

Merry Christmas  I hope ya'll have a wonderful Christmas and that the New Year brings only the best. Much love coming your way.

Dana,

I just received your package. You are such a sweetheart.

I hope that you and your entire family have a blessed Christmas. Many hugs and kisses,

Lisa

I remember that candy from when I was a kid. It is really so good and brings back so many memories. Maybe you and John have some of the same memories and will share them with Hunter and Lacey.
Love and wishes for a blessed and joyous Christmas.

MERRY CHRISTMAS DEAR FRIEND

What a shopping day I had. Just had to get Don his new office chair. Sheri, Aust and I headed to Sams. They were not busy at all. No chair so to Office Depot. Got a chair YAY and then to grocery store and home. We went to Sheri's for dinner and just got home minutes ago, Sheri and I worked on a jig saw puzzle. Love to do that. Austin's new gf came (Mazzie). A very sweet girl. She goes to . I'a school about 10 miles from Willard. We unloaded the truck full of presents and left at Sheri's. So we will get up early in the morning and have Christmas. Fun Fun.

I hope you have a wonderful Christmas. I know you will have a busy one. Enjoy your precious children. I'm Dallas is most excited.

Many Blessings for you tomorrow and always.

On a side note. I really am working on a road trip. Kathy says she is not sure they can do it which would be a bummer but we will make our own Disney being together.

Love you bunches,

Ginny

I hope eventually you get my card. It was in a plain brown envelope folded over. Not a card envelope.

Hello all my wonderful Disney friends. I am sorry I have been MIA for a few days, but I have been doing a few other things. You know like hooking up DVD players, cleaning up boxes, watching movies with Dallas, all the fun after Christmas stuff. We had a nice Christmas spent at home. Watched the Disney parade and wished I was there, and UNINJURED :rotfl:.

I HOPE EVERYONE HAD A WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS.

This has been a strange Christmas for me since I have been pretty much "home bound". I'm glad it is over, now I can focus on getting the doctor to do something about my leg.

I have an appointment to see the doctor tomorrow at 10:40. I am going to try and get some answers. I called last Friday, Monday, Tuesday and did not get a return call, when I called Wednesday that is when I found out my doctor was off until tomorrow.

My co-workers called me today to check up on me . I was talking to Allison and she asked me if I had heard that our nurse manager tore her achilles tendon several years ago. I told her "no" I had not heard. The story is she had to fight for weeks to get her MRI and when they finally did the MRI they found that she needed surgery. After she had her surgery she had to continue to wear her boot for A YEAR :scared1:. The damage that was done, because they took so long doing the surgery, caused her rehab to be much longer than it would have been had she had surgery sooner. Beth is about 36 so she is 10 years younger than I.

I will post tomorrow what I find out. I just hope I get some kind of answer, this has really gotten more than frustrating.

I hope you and your family had a very Merry Christmas, Dana!! :santa: And I'm praying you get some answers tomorrow!! :goodvibes

Please keep us posted! I watched the WDW parade, too....wishing I was there- or anywhere but where I was. :)

 :grouphug:
Hello! Dana
I've been thinking about you; although I have not been on the boards very much lately...I'm glad you were finally able to get an appointment...hope they are able to help you get to the bottom of this and finally start on the path of resolution!

Gald to hear you had a wonderful Christmas...and your kind words are the same way I feel too! I guess we were all brought here for the same reason...one another!

I look forward to we can all meet and I know you and I will be meeting very soon!!!! :yay:

:wave2: waiting and praying for good news (in whatever form it should come)
Connie

Good morning Dana,

Please let us know what the doctor says as soon as you can. You know we are all sitting on pins and needles waiting to hear.

Lisa

I've been thinking about you today, Dana!! Let us know what the doctors said when you get a chance!! :goodvibes

Ah Dana, your post before Christmas made me teary. I really hope your appt today went well. Please let us know!

Hi Dana! Hope you have some good news this morning on whether you will be returning on light duty or not. :goodvibes Still praying for you.

I can't believe I didn't post my doctor's appointment news. I could have sworn I did. Must be the pain-------or the pain meds :lmao:. First, I want to say thank you to all my friends for their prayers and concern. I am just so blessed to have you as my friends and Disisters :grouphug:.

Amanda took me to the doctor, thank goodness she was off. I can't believe how long it takes me to get things done now :sad2:. We were about 5 minutes late for the appointment, but to my surprise the office was almost empty . We are talking a waiting room that has about 300 chairs and has a secondary waiting room with probably half that many and an x-ray area with about 25 chairs. I counted 20 people and that included me and Amanda. I was called back to the second waiting room after about 10 minutes and then put in a room after another 10 or so. When Nancy, Dr. Daugherty's nurse, came in the room I asked her if she could fill out my Aflac papers so I wouldn't have to leave them and wait. I explained to her that I have NO money coming in as I am now out of sick time and vacation time. She filled in her part and then said she would have to ask Dr. D if he would fill in his part. When Dr. D came in he asked how I was doing and asked about my pain. I told him the pain was about the same as it was from the start and he said that was understandable :sad1:. Understandable? I was hoping he would say it was going to go away today....:lmao: I told him I had taken the cam walker off and tried to take two steps without it, and if he could, I think he would have whipped me. Now, for those who don't know I worked Orthopedics for many years and I know Dr. D well. He was a doctor in the military so he believe in going by the numbers. He was REALLY upset that BCBS had denied the MRI. I was nice and I didn't mention to him that his nurse had not been following through with all the things I needed. He said he would get the letter of medical necessity dictated so we could get the fight with BCBS started. He had me take my boot off and he began to run his hand up and down my leg and squeeze my calf and when he rubbed the center of my calf I thought I was going to come off the table. Now my leg has been really cramping all day. He explained the whole injury again and said he didn't think I would need surgery, but we needed the MRI to tell exactly how long I will need to be wearing the cam walker. Before he left I asked him to fill out his part of the Aflac papers and explained why I needed it done ASAP and, bless his heart, he sat down and filled them out for me :lovestruc. Normally the doctors will not fill out the paper work. It has to be left and they call you about a week later to come and pick the papers up and they charge $10 every time. Amanda had asked him about letting me go back to work on light duty and he said if my nurse manager could find something for me to do he would consider it  :cool1::dance3::yay::woohoo:.

We left the office and dropped my Rx off and went to the nursery. I needed to pay my health insurance and let Beth, my nurse manager, know that I would be able to come back on light duty. She told me about her one year ordeal with her torn achilles tendon, boy she had a rough time. She said she would have to talk to Danielle, our HR supervisor, to see if I could come back light duty.

Beth called me today to say I couldn't come back light duty in patient care areas because of the liability to the hospital on my part and the patients :sad1:. Danielle did say I could come back light duty if they could find something for me to do that did not entail patient care. Beth sent an email to our nursing supervisor to see if she has an opening in bed board(room assignments) and she also sent one to our infection control/employee health department to see if they have anything for me to do. So, everybody please keep me in your prayers that there will be somewhere I can fill in until I have a full release. Not only am I going nuts sitting around here, but being cut back to one paycheck means the money is really tight. If Aflac would do what they are suppose to do things wouldn't be quite so bad :rolleyes1.

Again, thanks everybody for your prayers and concern. And for listening to me rant and rave :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:.

We are always here for you Dana. That was good of the nurse and Doc to do their part on the disability papers. I do my share of them and do my best to get them out within 2 days. People depend on these to live. I hope they can get the MRI authorized quickly. It has been long enough. No it has been way too long. Nothing but good wishes for you. Prayers extended.

Ginny
