I just read everything so far..well using the cheat links...You have me in tears laughing. You sound like so much fun!

Great update!!!

I hope you getting up late isn't a recurring theme for your trip. :lmao:

Your room view wasn't that bad.... as long as you kept looking to the right. Remember our view from our POP room in October... no you say? Let me remind you....

DSC06039.jpg

:eek::eek: :scared1::scared1: :eek::eek::eek: :scared1::scared1:

At least you had some cars to look at!!! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

It really seems like there was hardly any crowds in Epcot! Hope that means you will be able to make up for the late start! ;)

Keep 'em coming! :coffee:

Chapter 14. A Mission: Space Blast Off.

When I read the title I would have bet money that it was you who would be blasting off in space. Good job minding your P's and Q's.

But you make me think....this is something that is lacking in our space movies. I think they're missing some reality in this area. I mean, "Apollo 13" could have had a scene where everybody's squinting and Kevin Bacon says, "Yo Lovell!! Take it easy on the O2 scrubbers!" Gives new meaning to "Houston, we have a problem." Or even Star Wars. Can you imagine what the cockpit of the Millenium Falcon was like with Chewbacca in there? That growling noise he makes is probably just a diversionary tactic, if you know what I mean.

By the way, which version of Mission Space did you ride? Orange or green?

There was someone in the stall when I took the picture. I was holding the door open as I took the picture. As I was putting my camera away, 2 WDW Supervisors walked by to go backstage. I was a bit nervous as it might look a bit funny having someone putting his camera away as he leaves the restroom. Just think, I could've been famous for all the wrong reasons.

Now that was a close one!

Here's a picture of my food:
092.jpg

The food looks good. The sneakers look great.

Let me tell you this story of how outspoken I am...me, my mom, my sister, and Hollie were at the mall one day. Hollie was about 8 months old. WE got in the elevator and this teenage boy and his girlfriend got in with us. They were probably 15 and 14. Anyways, Hollie is waving and smiling at them and the girl is looking at Hollie like she is a germ or bug that is about to latch on her. She actually gave Hollie a dirty look!!! I immediately looked at my mom (who I can embarrass really easily) and said, "You know what bugs me?? People who are so rude that when a small baby looks at them and smiles, they look at the baby like its gonna eat them or that the baby is a germ. That bugs me!" Then I looked at this girl and said, "When my baby smiles and waves at you...you smile and wave back if you want to keep your limbs attached....got it???? Don't even look at my baby without so much as a huge smile on your face" OH MY GOSH....my mom was about to pass out!! My sister starts laughing and the guy is like uh oh.... But, I was still kind of hormonal and just could not understand why people are the way they are!! :lmao:

WHOA! :scared1: You ARE bold!! I might have done the "talk loudly so they can hear me" thing but I am definitely not so brave to actually tell them to their face! Yowza. Your kids have nothing to fear if they need sticking up for because MOMMA'S GONNA BRING IT!! You are definitely a brave soul. What did the girl do??? Bet she looked like this --> and then --> :guilty:

Glad they let the kiddos sleep in! Better to avert trouble than to force them and risk unnecessary melt-downs.

I agree... gotta pick your battles. ::yes::

Wow. You were up before young children?? :rotfl: I can't believe the kids slept so late! Maybe mine are just odd and up at the crack of dawn at all times.

I am blessed with sleep-in late children as well. Usually it's a blessing. Not at Disney though. I'm all about rope drop but the kids not so much. It makes for extensive pleading and bargaining on my part the night before to ensure they are motivated to get up and going.

Yeah - the kids were still on west coast time, and even at home they aren't early risers... so like 8am for us would be 11am at WDW... so right on schedule... but I'm a late sleeper so I'm glad they are TOTALLY early risers (like up at 5:30!) because otherwise I'd have to get up too. :headache: I think a lot of kids are early risers... mine, not so much.

Although, oddly - as the trip went on, we actually got up earlier and earlier (it used to be the opposite - we'd start out with lots of excitement and get to parks early and then as the trip went on, we'd sleep in later and later... ah, that was before kids...) so later in the trip we were able to maximize our day a little more. :thumbsup2

Notice people's attire....BRRRRRRR. shrinkage anyone?
Not going to say it, not going to say it…..

I thought I would get creative with my camera. I tried to get artsy with the canopies..I've seen many folks do this picture...
Niiiiiiice!

I noticed the fountains weren't very happy to see me...;)
:lmao: Not going to say it, not going to say it....

BLAST OFF. As the ship blasts off, all of a sudden a strong smell takes over the capsule. Someone blasted alright! Someone blasted a HUGE poof!. I know it wasn't me (I think). I just started laughing out loud. I thought to myself "How does this stuff just find me. This is so TR worthy"
:rotfl2: Maybe they are lurkers and wanted to give you some TR fodder.

The crowds were so much better than yesterday!
Score! :woohoo:

My first view of WS...again a bit overcome with emotion...
Yes! :sunny:

I started walking over to Canada, but had to use the restroom. There is a restroom right next to the Refreshment Port (they used to sell McDonalds food there). I decided to use it.
Isn’t this the spot of Zzub’s infamous number 4? :tilt:

Just think, I could've been famous for all the wrong reasons.
:rotfl:

So I decided to have a snack. I walked up to the Refreshment Port and ordered a Beef and Cheese Empanada and a drink.
Breakfast of champions my friend. Hope you didn’t go back on Mission Space. You could have changed assignments to Blaster. :darth:

I made my way back to the entrance to meet up with them. Okay, so in a little over 2 hours--only one attraction. Was it a waste of a morning? Absolutely not. What a relaxing, different morning. So crazy just to walk around and not be running from ride to ride....
Sounds like an Awesome morning to me my friend.

I love how you put everything from your perspective with the pictures. Makes me feel like I'm right there with ya!

Mission Space Blast off :rotfl2:

What a silly small bathroom. When they're that small, why even bother?! You've got some mega kahunas for taking pictures in the bathroom!

Now that all the Peeps have completed the initial meet day, I figured it was a good time to update the list. Links are in approximate chronological order. (Click each title for the link.)

Sounds like you had a great weekend. So sorry about the traffic and racisim. Like many have said I just didn't expect that in Cali. I think of it being such a melting pot and liberal. I can't believe you carry crazy glue everywhere but not gas medicine.:confused3 If you're going to be prepared do it right.

Your Epcot morning sounds so nice. No crowds. :cloud9: So did you ditch lunch at Sunshine Sesons?

:rotfl2: Maybe they are lurkers and wanted to give you some TR fodder.

Now THAT would be a first! People following Jordan around to get a mention in his TR! How funny would that be? Now I want to see who deliberately dresses "inappropriately" and walks in front of him (lingering just long enough for Jordan to snap a pic :thumbsup2) and then looks on the TR to see if they were commented about... :cool1: hey... do you think that homeless man in Ventura is a secret DIS'er?

Wendy and Derrick travel to WDW and check into BLT - Part 1

Just an aside... since I'm sure you'll be mentioning him again... but DH is spelled "Derek" vs. "Derrick" (I have another friend named Derrick and so my DH likes to differentiate - ha ha. Also it reminds him of an oil well.)

But love love love the quick links! I don't get to read through the threads as much so the links are SO helpful! Gotta love links! :lovestruc

Somehow, I'm not seeing it.

DOH! I should have caught that! Tell Derek, (whom we know is not a crude oil extraction device) I said sorry about that! It has been updated!

But love love love the quick links! I don't get to read through the threads as much so the links are SO helpful! Gotta love links! :lovestruc
No prob. I'm a compulsive sorter. Half my job consists of categorizing and organizing call data. Well, techincally chat data since we are doing most of our support via IM, but the big dogs still refer to it as call data so until that changes, I'll have to mentally translate.

:lmao: I just choked on a Tater Tot. I really should stop trying to eat while DISing.

What a great view of your room at Pop! :lmao:

Whew! That was a close call on your bathroom picture taking! :rotfl:

The room with no view as I called it, but you know what...late at night I'd go out on the balcony and just kinda look out and it was still relaxing....who knew a parking lot could bring a sense of calm.:)

I thought that the man in the stall would come out and find the supervisors; they would confiscate my camera and then kick me out.

Glad you got a bus so quickly! We thought the bus system at Pop was great!

I like the "artsy" canopy shot :thumbsup2

Glad you didn't get busted for your bathroom pics

I never had issues with the busses my whole trip.

I think you'll find you and I took very similar pix throughout the trip.

I'm glad too. The supervisors were in the Refresment Port talking. So as I'm ordering I'm wondering if they were calling security...

What a GREAT morning!!! After the crazy (yet fun) day before, it was probably fabulous to just go at your own pace and relax!

LOVE the blast off story... I bet it was the dad!!

It was a great morning. So relaxing and you definitely see the parks differently.

It coulda been the dad...but the ride is going so fast that there was no time to look around and they say to keep your head back....

Relaxing is exactly the right word I use for this kind of morning.

Glad they let the kiddos sleep in! Better to avert trouble than to force them and risk unnecessary melt-downs.

All I can say is the bathroom looks squeaky clean. I wonder if the guy in the stall heard the camara click?

Glad the little guy didn't poo his pants! But the space in so small even a poof must have been mighty powerful stuff.

Liesa, I hope any solo time you have is spent like this--relaxing, sitting on benches....

That bathroom was extremely clean!:thumbsup2 I bet it was because it was still early. I don't think the guy heard the camera. I also turned off the flash.

That enclosed space with the a/c blowing just magnified the smell sending it everywhere...

Wow. You were up before young children?? :rotfl: I can't believe the kids slept so late! Maybe mine are just odd and up at the crack of dawn at all times.

Sounds like some lovely alone time at Epcot. :goodvibes

I was up before the children. I was up before everyone and probably the last one asleep...I'm so relaxed just looking at those pix!

That's like punishment to me! This is something a SIL does. And when I look at the list, I always ask the same question. What? No schedule bathroom use?

I was glad to read you had a relaxing, albeit cool day, just wandering around Epcot. Now that sounds like a vacation.

WOW! Thanks so much for compiling this list. Makes checking TR's much easier. :thumbsup2 You ARE good!!!

"Blast-off" indeed! At least it wasn't you.

Of course, you know the old saying: "He who smelt it, dealt it!!"

I love starting off vacation on a relaxing note... I think you'll agree that it really has its advantages, physically and emotionally. :goodvibes

Looking forward to more...

Kathy

I don't look forward to the day when I can't control the poofs and they just come out. My dad's like that now...

I did do a quick sniff test around my area. I don't think it was me.

I was happy that I was getting some relaxation time so early. It was a bit unexpected to get these few hours in as I expected Kim and Allan to join me.

I am blessed with sleep-in late children as well. Usually it's a blessing. Not at Disney though. I'm all about rope drop but the kids not so much. It makes for extensive pleading and bargaining on my part the night before to ensure they are motivated to get up and going.

Love your quiet morning. Maybe I should just ditch the family and have my own quiet morning next trip. Hmm.... not a bad idea.

The time change definitely affected them. They got up earlier as the week moved on.

Having those 2 hours does help for sure. :thumbsup2 I can then watch the kids and let the rest of them do rides which you'll see is what I did.

Looks like you had a great weekend at the retreat-other than the rude comments of some ignorant people. Its terrible that some people are so judgemental AND vocal about it.
You had a nice relaxing morning at EPCOT. Sounds good to me! I haven't tried Mission Space yet but I will probably have a "blast off" of my own also-I tend to do that when I am nervous! :rotfl2:

I think nervous release is what happened to one of the kids!:rotfl2:

Have mercy! I don't read your trip report for a few days and I am, literally, tens of pages behind. Let me see if I can remember what I wanted to post about. Yucky smucky for the traffic. My daughter does mission work and attends college near Atlanta. The traffic there is horrible and we have always always been delayed. Wouldn't want to drive in California traffic for sure!

It's hard to believe that in this day and age there are still so many racist out there. Living herein the Deep South, I see it all the time. So very very sad.

It sounds like the retreat was powerful and moving. I think we all need retreats like these to cleanse our souls and remind us of what's truly important in life. I thank the good Lord above that there are people out there like you who are helping lay a good foundation for our youth. My daughter knew as a young teenager that she wanted to go into the ministry and I am ever so proud of my baby (even though she's 22, she's still my baby).

I don't think it's odd at all that you carry a tube of Super Glue around with you. I never ever ever go anywhere without one. In 2008, I had a temporary crown fall out of my mouth right in the middle of our lunch at the Electric Umbrella. Yep, it popped out and bounced right across the table like a grasshopper. Thankfully, I had a tube of Super Glue and I glued that baby back in. When I got back home, my dentist said I did a mighty fine job! Needless to say, that vacation memory sticks with me (get it...sticks with me:laughing:) and I never leave home without my super glue.

Now, on to your latest Disney trip update. Too bad you didn't make rope drop but sometimes even the best of us hit that snooze button a few too many times.

I loved the Mission Space story. Too cute! I really figured that one of them would be barfing too from the way the story started out. I can handle a little fart or two much better than a barf.

MouseGears is one of my favorite stores in DisneyWorld. I could walk around in there for hours just looking around.

I had to laugh outloud at your bathroom pictures. My daughter and I take bathroom pictures all the time. We often wonder if people think we're nuts but I guess I don't really care 'cause I keep sneaking in and taking them.

I don't think you've wasted your time at Epcot at all. It's nice to take a park at a leisurely pace and not have any real plans.

Looking forward to more!

You'll see...I do slot in Restroom breaks somewhere in my itinerary coming up.;)

We rarely look at the itinerary once we're there. I usually have it pretty well memorized. They are definite guidelines for sure not something to follow. I put times down to give me an idea of how the day flows and if we can fit everything in including downtime.

What a relaxing morning at Epcot! It's so nice to just sit back, relax and go with the flow. Glad you had such a good time!
