So I was reading Todd your post about the different ideas for Peepfest and he says, " It would be great if it was closer to July since you will have time off then." Uuuuhhhh, does that mean that we might consider going???? I think it might! :woohoo::woohoo: We have a foot in the door!

Considering your options, we would probably only go for a land portion of it. We would love to do the cruise but we would probably not be able to swing it with our budget (considering the reason I will have time off in July will be because the school is making me take a month off, unpaid. :headache: ). If we are able to go, we would at least go for a week since we would be flying all the way from CA to go. I will not let myself get too excited yet, but knowing that it is a possibility made me smile tonight. :)

Saturday, February 6th

So I set my alarm for 7:30am. I had a potential breakfast ADR with Winkers and DH, DJay. I wasn't sure when I went to bed whether I'd make it up for breakfast. 7:30am alarm goes off. Reset the alarm for 7:45. Alarm goes off. Reset for 8:00am. Alarm goes off. Reset for 8:15am. Alarm goes off. I finally look at the clock and get up at:
022.jpg

I shower. Dry off. Get ready. Put on one of these:
017.jpg

I break out the iron. Notice the shorts. I think this is the only time you see shorts....
023.jpg

Around this time Cherie calls to see if I'm gonna make it. I say yes. We decide to meet in the lobby at 9:15am for our 9:40am ADR at Kona Cafe. We're gonna cab it to save time.

On the way to the lobby, I snap off some pix of what I see along the way:

Hello Hippy Dippy Pool. Can't wait to use you:
027.jpg

Hello Petals. What drunks will you provide for me:
026.jpg

thank god I'm not eating breakfast here. What a zoo! I have a date with someone named, Tonga, Tonga Toast.
024.jpg

Lobby:
025.jpg

I saw DJay and kinda stared at him from afar, but he never looked my way. I saw Cherie looking at some of the posters on the wall. So I walked over and stood right behind her. It took her a second...we hugged and then DJay came over and we went out front and caught a cab.

And that's where the adventure begins....I will let Winkers tell the story on her TR....let's just say the fare from Pop to Poly is about 15 dollars...our total was 31 dollars.:scared1: I paid 20. We still managed to get there with in our ADR time frame...I think.

On our way up the stairs DJay noticed a group of folks all wearing lime green t-shirts with some sort of DIS-like design on it. I wanted to bang on the window, but it was my first day and didn't want to get sent home so soon.

We checked in at Kona Cafe.
028.jpg

Had to get a picture of Cherie and I:
029.jpg

We got sat rather quickly. Service was a bit slow, but we didn't care. Carolyn was our server and let us know she burnt her hand on coffee and showed us the burn marks on her hand. I hope none of the puss made it into my meal as extra flavor...:rolleyes1. Really there was no puss..that I saw.

Cherie and I both ordered Tonga Toast and DJay ordered Steak and Eggs. Djay and Cherie as we waited for our food
030.jpg

Finally our food
034.jpg

032.jpg

033.jpg

The strawberry puree stuff looked nasty. It was too sweet for my taste. The Tonga Toast was okay. I am not a French Toast person. I love banana pancakes so I figured I'd like this too. It was too rich for me. I am glad I tried it. I wouldn't turn it down, but I'd probably get the Big Kahuna plate next time. I may be the only person alive that isn't in love with Tonga Toast, but more for you guys...:thumbsup2

After the bill was settled we left. Djay had to use the restroom and so Cherie and I sat down only to see this:
035.jpg

It was like a housecoat. At least it looked comfortable.

We decided to forgo the MK and head to Epcot first. We hopped on the monorail. Cherie was drawn to every pole she saw. If you look carefully, her leg is trying to get around the pole.....
036.jpg

We switched monorails at the TTC. We were glad we decided against the MK, look at the line just to get on the monorail:
037.jpg

I was feeling the time change and lack of sleep:
038.jpg

Off to Epcot....

Random stuff:

On sunday we had a chicken lunch fundraiser at church. I took home 12 extra dinners. I gave 4 to my fixed income parents. I thought of taking some to those who had signs saying "homeless. need help" So I drove along Beach Blvd and found a few folks with signs. However, both people said they didn't want food, only cash. I mean I guess they have their reasons, but I got discouraged and just came home. Sometimes it's not about the act of giving, but the obedience to go out and do it in the first place-no matter what the result. I have no judgement against those 2 individuals....well I did, but I am trying to love like He does.

Do NOT go to the store when you're hungry. I had to go and buy a few items for dinner and ended up with this:
002-1.jpg

PeepFest2012. It looks like it will be Option 2. The dates may change a bit, but it'll probably be WDW/4-day DCL/WDW. HOWEVER, I know that there are several of you that can't make the June Dates. Soooo.....to accommodate everyone, I have added extra dates. I will probably make a short trip to WDW around my actual birthday in February. It'll probably just be 4-5 days total and only if enough people can go (4-5 families or individuals would probably make it worth it). Would anyone be interested in those dates. Feb 22-27th ish.

I'm happy that you tried Kona for breakfast. I had the Tonga Toast & only ate 1/2 of it and it was a lot for me to eat. I didn't eat any of the strawberry stuff either. It was sweet enough w/ out it. I loved it though & can't wait to get it again.

Hope your day at Epcot goes well!

I'll either have the Big Kahuna or the macadamia nut pancakes....

Be Right back to read after lunch... Stay tuned.

That was one expensive cab ride!!

I really want to try the Tonga toast, but I am afraid it is going to be way too sweet...

I started giving Terry my pouty face about going to Peepfest...

Hello Westerners! Looks like we're all here together! I've been too busy to keep up lately! Nice to see everyone here!

For the 2012 poll: I think we would vote for option 2. We will need to use some points that year, so we could use points and then cruise, but a 7 day on top of a stay would be really long for us. I don't think Jim can take that much time off all at once. I am really hoping the DREAM will still be doing short cruises that Summer.

Okay, if all the guys are eating cabbage and flying out together - I vote for the girls taking another flight and drinking LOTS! :drinking1

That reminds me of our wedding story. We kind of eloped, except Jim's uncle and aunt from Anaheim flew out to Illinois for the occasion. Our friends had a little reception for us at their trailer house (we were all really young and in the AF) Jim's uncle thought it was funny to keep re-filling my champagne glass all afternoon, then took us all out to dinner at a local steak place. I couldn't read the menu in my - Hic - state, so I just ordered chicken fried steak - for my wedding dinner - couldn't tell you what it tasted like, or anything else that happened after that! :rotfl2:

I'm glad you found Cherie and DJay okay. We will have to keep an eye on Cherie with those poles! :lmao: Hmm tonga toast - I'm glad I tried it, but way too much to eat, and kind of too rich. I think I'd rather try the macadamia nut pancakes next time. ( I think I remember those on the menu?)

the girls can just sit in the front and the guys by the restrooms...:thumbsup2

Champagne and fried food=recipe for disaster...did you get sick? or do you remember?:rotfl2:

Poles will come up alot....:rotfl2:

I actually think the macadamia nut pancakes are also a part of the Big Kahuna Breakfast.

Option 2 is looking pretty good right now.

The correct response is, "Gig 'em Aggies!"

Elizabeth!! My Texas Sista!!
I never have gotten this....but she's right.

Camille! Congrats again...but it is MAROON not red! You know College Station would be cool in some ways for him...only an hour or hour and a half away...close enough to come home whenever he wants but far enough to have the full "going away to college" thing. But just for you I hope he gets into UT (t.u.) also!

Oops! Your right, I wasn't thinking. Bad Aggie mom, bad Aggie mom! :goodvibes Thank you for your words of congrats! Now we're hoping for the UT letter to come through any day. :rolleyes1 Honestly, either will be good, I just like the idea of my boy being closer to home.
Not to mention the girlfriend goes to UT already and knows how to keep him in line, she's hardcore about getting good grades. She's also hard core about getting through school before making future plans, hope that lasts out, they are already talking marriage. :sad1:

CSR is wonderful. There is a great resort thread. 2 Queens :thumbsup2
I have been there 3 times. Twice for a conference. Some rooms are quite a walk but I am sure you can request a pretty close one. I had no trouble when I was put out in what I thought was the boonies asking for a closer room. I have stayed twice in the casitas after renovation and once in the cabanas before renovation. Food court is great of you are on the dining plan but can be expensive if you are not.

Thank you Poolrat!! This was so nice of you to take the time to comment since you knew I was intimidated to staying in a new place. It was so thoughtful of you.

Jordan
I would opt for Land only. I can get away with some advance planning and well 2 years is pretty advanced, even for me :lmao:

I may be going solo since the DH is a Dishater right now.

Hate hearing that your DH is hatin the DIS. :sad1:
This is a sad state of affairs my friends. :sad2:
Well I hope you'll be there and we'll get to meet. :goodvibes

Jordy, I have to say the land part would work for me, I don't do well on boats, and I would be concerned about the money going into it. With that in mind I would love to do a 8-9 day trip staying at the POP. If Amanda (Pipersmom) can swing it, she's talked about trying to come as well. :woohoo: I'm pretty sure she would only do the land portion. Wouldn't that be a hoot having a lot of peeps in the POP!
Besides it will be my year of turning 40! :yay: So it will be a celebration for me as well. Let's see, that's You, Rosie, her friend Christina (hope I got that right) and I can't remember what other wonderful Diser said it was their birthday? :confused3 :woohoo: This will be a celebration to beat all other celebrations!! Would love to be a west coaster just to fly in with Leisa, Cynthia, and Cherie....I know I'm leaving someone off of here...Terry's wife! Sorry I forgot your name. :guilty: I know you live in Oregon, does that count for anything?!? :goodvibes That would be one heck of a flight, we would be banned for sure from the airline, after that flight. :rotfl:

I'm really surprised you got up so early after such a late night! Impressive. :thumbsup2

I've been trying to work in a breakfast at Kona for my January trip. We ate there for my birthday dinner last year, but I'd like to try breakfast. Which table service restaurant is your favorite (non-character meal) for breakfast?

Wish I could join you all for peep fest. But, our next trip after January probably won't be until 2013 when Chuck retires from the navy.

I wish I could shut off an alaram and go back to sleep that easily :sad2:

I can't wait to be looking at that pool tomorrow :cool1: I am also hoping I get to use it at some point :)

Kona breakfast looks so good!

I don't think I would be a fan of Tonga Toast just because I don't like french toast or sweet foods in the morning... I do want to try the macadamia nut pancakes though!

Sorry about your random act of kindness not going the way you wanted it to..All that matters is that you went out and tried to do something nice for strangers :)

Alarm goes off. I finally look at the clock and get up at:
022.jpg

You are better man than me, i would have still been sleeping;)

I break out the iron. Notice the shorts. I think this is the only time you see shorts....
023.jpg

Uh oh, that sounds foreboding :scared:

And that's where the adventure begins....I will let Winkers tell the story on her TR....let's just say the fare from Pop to Poly is about 15 dollars...our total was 31 dollars.:scared1: I paid 20. We still managed to get there with in our ADR time frame...I think.

I have never had it, and it doesn't look like something I would like:confused3

We were glad we decided against the MK, look at the line just to get on the monorail:

As they say it is thought that counts:hug:

Do NOT go to the store when you're hungry. I had to go and buy a few items for dinner and ended up with this:
002-1.jpg

This is why Imake Jim do the food shopping;)

8:19's not a bad start for your late night. I bet those Gardettos in your belly were growling for some company. I don't like Tonga Toast either. Okay, I've never had it, but if someone stuck some bananas in my french toast, it might come to blows!

So I set my alarm for 7:30am. I had a potential breakfast ADR with Winkers and DH, DJay. I wasn't sure when I went to bed whether I'd make it up for breakfast. 7:30am alarm goes off. you sound just like my husband.

i'm drooling. and i mean it this time. looks so much better than my coffee and oatmeal i just ate.

The Tonga Toast was okay. I am not a French Toast person. I love banana pancakes so I figured I'd like this too. It was too rich for me. I am glad I tried it. I wouldn't turn it down, but I'd probably get the Big Kahuna plate next time. I may be the only person alive that isn't in love with Tonga Toast, but more for you guys...:thumbsup2

what???? :scared1: oh, the horror!!!! blasphemy! how could you not love it????? actually, i totally get it. i think i'm the only person on the disboards who doesn't like ohana. i thought it was loud and chaotic and the meat was dry and gross. but that's just me. and like you said....more for everyone else! i love tonga toast so much though that i attempt to make it home...and it's not easy!

After the bill was settled we left. Djay had to use the restroom and so Cherie and I sat down only to see this:
035.jpg

It was like a housecoat. At least it looked comfortable.

it goes well with what look like the house slippers she's wearing.

Cherie was drawn to every pole she saw. If you look carefully, her leg is trying to get around the pole.....
036.jpg

she missed her true calling in life. :lmao:

I thought of taking some to those who had signs saying "homeless. need help" So I drove along Beach Blvd and found a few folks with signs. However, both people said they didn't want food, only cash. I mean I guess they have their reasons, but I got discouraged and just came home. I have no judgement against those 2 individuals....well I did, but I am trying to love like He does.

and that's sometimes very hard to do. i hear ya. my grandfather stopped a few years ago and offered one of those guys $100 for 6 hours of work helping him bale hay. pretty good money if you ask me. the guy said, "no, thanks. i can make more just standing out here begging." i don't want to judge either but if those people were truly desperate they would probably go to a shelter or a mission somewhere. what kills me is when they have a dog with them.

Do NOT go to the store when you're hungry. I had to go and buy a few items for dinner and ended up with this:
002-1.jpg

again, you sound just like my husband. i was just looking at his debit receipts from when i was out of town and he spent $21 on sodas, junk food and candy at the QT (gas station) one night while i was gone. :confused3

I'm not sure if I would be a fan of Tonga Toast either. Its on my to do list.

Its hard not to have bad thoughts about those two people. But look at it this way, probably their addicition to whatever outweighs anything. So they needed cash. For that you can feel a bit sorry for them.

You are a good man. ;)

Great update as always. :dance3:

MMMMMmmmmmm.... Tonga Toast! Can't say I can eat the whole thing in one sitting, but I'm a big fan. The strawberry stuff never appealed to me either. That would just be sweetness overload.

I love how you took a picture of the alarm clock. Were you sleeping with your camera? :lmao:

Actually, if you're planning on going in February, I'd prefer those dates. I'm pretty flexible so I might just decide when the date gets closer.

Ok, I had the weirdest dream last night. I was getting ready for a Disney trip and reading a travel book. Ok, not so weird so far. I start reading and realize the book is your TR! Each up date was a different color and the emoticons weren't smiley faces they were marshmellow peeps! :confused3 :lmao:
Ok, Jordan, stay out of my head! :rotfl:
Now to read what I missed while dreaming of your TR.
