I don't feel like making a thread... so I'll just ask here... I went to the eye doctor (I don't remember the "official" name) today and I have 20/40 vision in my left eye (20/25 in my right, incase you were wondering). So, the doctor told me that I needed glasses for distance (reading the board/overhead/smartboard/tv at school, playing outside/ watching tv, ect.). I haven't gotten them yet, I'm going back soon to pick out the lenses with my mom, because she wants to have a say in this. So for those of you who wear glasses, how do you like them? Do you get used to them after a while? And any other common questions you've ever been asked about glasses before :]

Any help would be gratefully appreciated!

My sister wears glasses, and she likes her contacts much better. She also said her glasses also made her eyesight worse than it was before her glasses, without them on.

I won't have to wear them all the time, just for distance stuff, since I'm nearsighted, so I'll just have to deal with it, haha.

I wouldn't wear my glasses when I first got them, and my eyesight got worse. Now I wear them almost all day (except at school because I forget to bring them... And I sit near the front so I can see the board) and it's improved. Better then my sister's who don't wear their glasses as often and borrow other pairs around the house.

I've had glasses since like, 5th/6th grade (10th now...) They're kind of annoying but seeing everything all blurry/giant blobs of color is more annoying.

I got my glasses in 4th grade and I would never wear them. I still think they suck.

I hate when anyone touches my glasses because they smudge them. I don't even know why it doesn't bother them, having this smudge on their glasses! It's so annoying. It's like looking through a fogged up window throughout the day.

I need new ones, mine I got like the second week of April in 2008 (I usually get new ones each year)...the lenses keep falling out and I almost lost the tiny screws lol. It's weird that they didn't get crushed when they fell off at a concert, it took me like 30 seconds to find them. They're also kind of scratched...but you can't see it if you're wearing them...

No. lol. We were measuring how much heat was in a gummy bear.

We put it in the test tube and put some calcium? I can't remember in it, and it burnt the test tube up and the gummy bear melted and started overflowing the tube, plus some fire was coming out the top and it was smoking tremendously. One of them got over 400* fahrenheit. 0_o
