The Pursuit of Disney Magic (June 7-14, 2008) ~ UPDATED 9/30 pg. 191

I'm jealous of the only 10 days of school left. I have 21!

We have been at it since August so we are definitely ready for the end. :goodvibes

I LOVE your your PTR and have been reading off the links from page 1. I think you have officially SOLD on planning our first WDW trip after our DLR/DCA trip in October! But the timing will be tricky because our first trip to Orlando will be for the opening of Hogwarts at Universal in late '09!!

Well, whatever, but I think it's safe to say that you can claim yourself responsible for beginning someone else's future planning obsessions! :worship:

So... great writing and thanks(?)!!

Thank you and welcome! I am so tickled that I have inspired you to plan your first trip to WDW!

Yah! CharlestonPrincess is back!

Don't you just love getting new clothes before vacation? I'm trying to hold off and be good, but I know it's coming! :lmao:

And to all those searching for Indy M&Ms, another place to look is Walgreens. This past week, the small bags were two for $1.

Back on topic, I can't believe you have less than a month!

The hard part is to stop buying new clothes for the trip -- I keep having to tell myself that we are all set. ;)

Less than a month....

:dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

:yay: :yay: :yay:

Charleston Princess- you are so lucky to only have 10 days of school left. Here, there's about 15 plus 4 days of finals. :scared1:
It's getting so exciting to be 28-ish days out. Like I said, it's really ll I can do to stop myself from packing right now!

I hope we make it! :rotfl:

We will! :goodvibes

I found Indy on my 2 liter of Diet Dr. Pepper today!

He's on our 12 pack of Dr. Pepper, too -- oh, and the box of cereal I bought yesterday (with spoon inside)! :rotfl:

We through our used up books away on Thursday:banana:

The 3 of us were HAPPY-school is DONE, till mid July for us!!!

We are doing some reading daily though through the summer:rolleyes1

Lori

That's awesome! I know you are excited to have a break! Does that mean you will get to DIS more? :flower3:

Happy Mother's Day!! :flower3:

Thank you so much! :goodvibes

Flat out exhausted here, but wanted to pop in really quick and say I hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day! :goodvibes

10 days, woo hoo for you! :thumbsup2 My kids don't get out till June 18th. Seems like a long ways from now!

New clothes for the trip are so fun! You need stylin' threads!

Allyson :)

I bet you are exhausted -- it's been a long day for you! I did have a great Mother's Day -- I hope you did, too!

June 18th? Wow! But it will speed up and go very quickly here soon!

New clothes are a must since I don't want to have to do laundry while we are there, and I don't want to look like something that crawled out from under a rock -- that's my reasoning anyway! :lmao:

Glad to hear you had a great mother's day.

But now, I want details! Are you getting excited? You're so close to your trip...please post something so I can live vicariously through you! :rotfl2:

Packing pix?

Luggage pix?

Anything?

Glad to hear you had a great mother's day.

:lmao: Unfortunately with all the madness of the end-of-school-year I haven't really had a chance to do any planning/organizing/prepping for the trip. I did manage to make a shopping list of everything I still need to get. It goes something like this:

2 shirts for Charles
Underwear for Connor
Camera batteries
AA Batteries
Snacks for the road
Grape juices for Charles in case his sugar levels drop (he's diabetic)
Children's tylenol
Adult tylenol
Ziploc bags
Paper towels
Stamps
Glow necklaces

I also went through Charles's stuff tonight to make sure he was okay on socks and boxers for the trip.

Pretty exciting stuff, right? ;)

Oh, and since I am the Indy person on the DIS, a couple of pieces of news on that front -- our local movie theater is now selling advance tickets for next week (can you believe it's opening next week???) so that is on my to-do list, and one of my co-workers brought me a Dr. Pepper today with Indy on it -- he was able to keep me company while I taught today. :lmao:

CP~ I thought of you today when I was in Wal-Mart.....toy section....whole display of Indy toys! It was 3/4 gone already...the little figures I wanted were sold out :sad1:

Action figures? There are action figures already? I need to look at those next time I am at Walmart! :thumbsup2

We have been drooling over the Indy legos at our house -- we bought a couple of the smaller sets (the Arc temple and the motorcycle chase) but are waiting on the bigger sets until after Disney.

As I predicted, there has been a lot of arguing about the Indy spoon that came in the Apple Jacks -- I think I have created monsters. :rotfl:

Even my students have picked up on all of it. Today I got to hear about how Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade was on yesterday (which I knew because I watched it). I was so proud of my 8th graders though because they connected it to the King Arthur unit that we are doing right now. Yeay! They are paying attention!

DH watched all 3 Indy movies on Sunday. There are action figures for the new movie and little cartoony ones for the old movies (they had them for Star Wars too awhile ago). The set I wanted was Indy and the guy with the sword in the alley that Indy shoots

I will have to keep an eye out for that one! That is one of my favorite scenes from all of the movies! I am sure you know the story behind the filming of it?

I do have to say that the middle film is my least favorite -- I rarely will sit through the entire thing.

Aww, how sweet. He's a teacher, you're a teacher. ;) ;)

I saw the commercial for the Legos yesterday and immediately thought of you. Then I was drooling over how cool they are!

I think it's time for more cereal. :lmao:

I sense a repeat of the SW debacle.

Yesterday, we were at the grocery store, and we had run out of cereal...so I perused to see what was on sale...but what to my wondering eyes did appear? INDY! On Frosted Flakes...we haven't had those in a while, and I normally don't by junk, but ah well, another light up spoon for us. :lmao:

I finally found the Indy M&Ms at our WalMart here. They were just putting them out. The guy that was stocking the shelves said they were going really fast and there was practically a mob when people realized what he was putting out. They still didn't have the ice cream sandwiches, I just made my own.

Hey Jackie,

Looks like a good shopping list so far--Now, will there be a certain "Indy" theme to the car snacks? Just wondering!!! Have a great Tuesday!!! Jen

Ok where is my brain? I thought you were talking about the Indy 500 car race which I thought was random but oh well... My DH and dad are going so it was on my mind. ;)

:lmao: That's funny -- at our house the only Indy is Indiana Jones. :thumbsup2

Aww, how sweet. He's a teacher, you're a teacher. ;) ;)

I hadn't even thought of that -- see, we do have a connection, Dr. Jones and me! :rotfl:

Yes, I think cereal will be our breakfast of choice for a few weeks just so everyone is happy. :sad2:

Hurray for finding Indiana Jones M&Ms! :yay:

I bet those homemade ice cream sandwiches were delicious!

Hi, Jen! I hadn't thought of theming our car snacks to Indy -- I wonder if that would make the 7 hour drive go faster??? :rolleyes1

See, I bring up things you don't even realize! :thumbsup2

Breakfast of Champions...although usually when I say this, I am referring to the free lollipops we give away at the drive-thru at the bank. I'm all for the 900am pop...especially when it's not my DS! :rotfl2:

I wonder if that would make the 7 hour drive go faster??? :rolleyes1

Oh, yes. Oh, yes it will. Much like if I were loaded down with a various assortment of POTC goodies, I would be sooooo happy. See, Pirates is to TK what Indy is to CP.:thumbsup2
