Please help me decide which one to go to. I have a 4:25pm at the Plaza or I can get a 5:05pm at Kona Cafe. I looked at both menus and both look good. It is just DH and myself. If I eat at Kona I am thinking that we should be able to get to the park around 6:30pm. If we eat at the Plaza we will be done earlier. Which one has better food? Please help me decide !!! Thanks everyone !!!!:banana:

IMHO, the food at Kona is better. BUT, I would absolutely do the Plaza with the ADR you've already got.

That's because we've learned that a vacation at WDW involves lots and lots of walking, and waiting for transportation, and riding transportation. That's all well and good, but we've found that the less "to-ing" and "fro-ing" that we put ourselves through, the more we enjoy the trips. (And we're averaging 12 to 15 miles walking per day, and we park hop, and we go back to the resort to swim mid-day -- so our style does have a lot of action to it).

So for us, the best restaurant choices are the ones that fit with our location best. Hope that makes sense....

I had reservations at Plaza on our party day. . . then I changed to Kona Cafe. . . then I changed that to O'Hanas! I bet no matter where you go, it'll be fabulous - especially since you're going to MVMCP!!

Based on our experience at The Plaza before a MNSSHP party I am not sure it would take longer at Kona. We had a very long wait to get into the Plaza (free dining and a party night?). At least a 45 min wait and then very slow service once inside. Now our ADR was for 5:30 so it may be less backed-up at an earlier ADR. Also the food is better at Kona. Just MHO!

Have a great trip!

This is disappointing to hear. I also have a 4:15 ADR on our party day at the Plaza. I would still think you would have more party time if you kept the Plaza ADR as opposed to Kona even with more waiting since you are already in the park.

Good luck with your decision and I hope you have a wonderful anniversary trip.

Agree completely. Hate the pressure of "we need to get done, eat faster, cause the party is going to start without us"!Whenever we do a special event party at the MK we get an early ADR inside the park, usually Liberty Tree for my kids. If we get done a little early, we love walking around the park before everybody else gets to the party.

If it is only about the food, I'd pick Kona.

We are doing Kona before the MVMCP on Dec 15th. I really really loved Kona for breakfast and always wanted to try it for dinner. We are going to ride the monorail around a little first and look at the Christmas decor in the resorts, eat at Kona and then just take the monorail back to MK. I really want a nice sit down dinner with good food before hand so all we have to eat at the party is hot chocolate and cookies! ;)

Just had a fantastic meal at The Plaza on Monday!!! It was my 2nd time eating there and both times were great. The food and service were perfect each time!!!!:goodvibes

Thanks everyone !!!!!! I was thinking the Plaza just because it would get us in the park early but DH wants to go to Kona and have a good meal before the party. We have done the party a couple times so he does not feel the big rush to hurry up and get there early. I on the other hand can't wait to get in and see all the decorations and shop for more Disney Christmas stuff. We usually don't do the rides at this event just the parade, Wishes and walking around and just taking it all in. I LOVE the snow on Main Street and the hot cocco and cookies !!!!!! I wish I was there right now !!!!!

I like Kona better. The food is outstanding. Ohana is also good, and you can watch from the restaurant. If you want Kona, try to walk up before your Reservation to be seated earlier. They usually will. Good Luck

I would say the Plaza. We love both places, but being you are eating in MK you do not have to wait for any transportation and you can enjoy the park more.

Agreed! ... especially given the price of the MVMCP tickets! (I just spent $220 on them for our family of 4!)

Kona for dinner The Plaza for sandwiches. It really depends what you want to eat. Both are good. If I had to pick one it would be Kona cause I would want a dinner.

Given the rush at the beginning of the party and how things really do slow down as the night goes on, I think I would opt for the more relaxed Kona option.

We just had a 5:30 ressie with Kona before MNSSHP. We told our server at the beginning of the meal that we wanted to get out pretty quick and they were great. Its one of our favorite places to eat and its a quick monorail ride over. We were at the MK right at 7pm.
