My second gripe about TT is noticed once the cars are underway. You hear all this motor-revving, and tire squealing, but I’m sitting there thinking—THIS is supposed to be fast? I’ve had much more spirited rides on my bed at 3 in the morning after a good night out. Yes, that is an entirely different ride, but you get my point.

As a clarification: I was meaning that I've had rougher rides lying in bed after I have had too much to drink and gotten the "spins". My DF read this last weekend and took it to mean an entirely different "ride" in bed. I was totally NOT thinking about that connotation when I wrote it, and if it offended anyone, I apologize. It didn't really offend my DF, but she just wanted to make sure you all didn't think I was some sort of Mimbo. (Thats a Male bIMBO, for all of you not of the "Seinfeld" generation).

I'll be looking to write more tonight when I get back from the gym.

Later! :stitch:

BTW--do you guys name all your VWs too? I don't know if its a weird PA thing, but we've all had names for the cars--such as:

Loretta the Jetta
Babbit the Rabbit
Eli the GTi
Baloo the VW
and, when friends rented a car in Germany, they got a VW Polo--his name was Hans Polo.

I've named my 2000 Turbo Beetle... Gus. After Agustus Gloomp because I thought that my Beetle looks like a happy fat little German kid. :teeth:

Could be a weird PA thing, though, as I'm originally from Lebanon.

I guess your DF and I think alike. I was also far from offended, and actually thought it was pretty funny. Even funnier now since you didn't mean it. :goodvibes

pixiedust: Congrats to both of you! What a great story so far! I got engaged a few months ago and I thought for sure that it was going to be on our last trip to WDW in Nov., but it wasn't. I did see someone get engaged on our last night there in front of the castle right after the fireworks. I got all teary-eyed and wished that it could be me. But my DF finally (after almost 7 years) propsed on Christmas day with my entire family around us. My ring was too small also, but I got it on my finger and there it stayed until the correct setting came in! Everyone we know has asked us if we are getting married or honeymooning at WDW - the wedding is out of the question (unless a friend wins the lottery - she promised to pay for my entire family to go to WDW and the wedding there if she wins.) The honeymoon is a definite possiblity, although I've had af ew people tell us to go somewhere else because we'll be going ot Disney for the rest of our lives! Congrats again. Nothing but love and pixie dust to you both!

"VW Polo--his name was Hans Polo"
OK This got me laughing!

And on the "entirely different kind of ride" No offense taken at all - I thought is was hilarious!

Thanks for the report!

We must all have pretty dirty minds, because I get the idea that about everyone was thinking about something else than your different ride!

:rotfl:

Well if he was that drunk, would he remember correctly what sort of ride? :rotfl2:

Back to the point; looking forward to the next part! We honeymooned at disney in 2003!

Hey all,

First off I am new so just wanted to say hi. I have been coming here for awhile, using ths great site (and others) to plan my first WDW trip. I am going with my Girlfriend and it will be her first time too so we are quite excited.

I found VW's trip report and have gotten so hooked like everyone else. I registered just so I could reply and ask a really sumb question.

I can not for the life of me figure out what "DGF" and by extension, "DF" stands for! I should know, I am smarter than this.

Anyway once again great site, great report board and hello to all.

Hello and :welcome:

I assume DGF means dear girlfriend and DF means dear fiancee. If I am wrong someone please correct me!

Well, if we're all gonna let our minds tiptoe through the innuendo, then just be thankful you said "more spirited".... and not "quicker". ;)

Woo-hoo! I plowed through all 15 pages today and now I'm waiting for the next installment!! I'm loving the TR, great writing and all, but I'm mostly loving finding the other PSU alums on the DIS Boards!

My DH and I are both grads and we got engaged on our 3 year, one month anniversary after the Homecoming parade! We were both in the Blue Band so the Homecoming Parade was always a big deal for us. It is cool to come across Penn State people out here in the boards.

I know a lot of PA people who name their cars and drive them down the shore. I didn't realize car naming was a PA thing, but I know the "shore" is!

Keep writing and I'll be back to read more!

For the glory,

:cool1: This is such a great thread, what a a wonderful story, congrats!!

What a great couple!!

But, we must have more soon! PLEASE!! :) PRETTY PLEASE!! :wave2:
