The Parking Issue

Please read the thread. The question is where to park.

You missed the point of my post.

I was letting you know what the general opinion seems to be with the parking threads, its only a couple people who actually argue what you bring up in the this.

As for the rest of my post, it very much relates to what you posted about in regards to separating parking by the amounts people pay. So I'll ask again, assuming your family enjoys the GF pool, would you support it being open to anyone regardless of the fact that you paid to use it? Does it make you elitist to want to restrict it to GF resort guests only? Also, you pay more than other guests at the GF for CL service, should the lounge be open to all GF guests anyways? Again, does it make you elitist to want to restrict the lounge to people who paid top dollar to use it?

I don't think people should park at the back of the lot simply because they aren't staying at the resort, but if you simply want to use it for park access I don't think you should be parking there at all.

Why is that a question? If you are eating there, you get your parking pass and park in an open spot.

Maybe I missed something - was there a thread that said dining guests should park seperately from guests staying there?

No I agree with what you are saying. What struck me as odd was the way the information was presented - so matter of fact.

Wow calling someone stupid or a liar is uncalled for. :hippie:

You're right. In fact I should be thanking him. $100,000.00 a year and choose to forgo all discounts, thanks to people like him Disney can continue to offer such great discounts to everyone else.

Yes! The information presented was that even if you paid, got your sticker, confirmed your ADR... the known etiquette is that you park in the further lot as to save spots for guests staying at the hotel.

This is what I am questioning.

Just for fun I did a quick search for out typical stay. July 17-30, three people, 2 bedroom suite CL. Tickets and food - $36,518.64. Which to be honest is higher than previous years.

You are welcome to use the same criteria and come back and tell us your price.

Went on the Disney website...tried to book the most expensive package allowable using just the website.....

TOP THIS!

8 adults
14 nights (12/16-12/30) AKL Club Level 2 bedroom suite
10 day hoppers with wpf&m and no expiration
Platinum Dining Package with Wine Add-On

Total: $57,680.58

Does not include flights or trip insurance.

Regarding the spinning - Isn't Walt frozen? :rolleyes1

We are only a family of three and it runs in the 30 range. That's not bad for 8 people.

I agree with the OP. I don't understand the "I paid more" or "I am staying at the resort" therefore I should get the better parking spaces.

We dine at Victoria & Albert's several times a year. We do not stay at the GF and while we usually take a taxi, there is the option of parking as well.

Let's say we drove to GF, self parked and went to V&A for dinner. We have never had a V&A meal last less than 3 hours, in fact, ours are typically 4. We are seated at 5:30 and by the time we are walking out the door it is usually 9:30.

Based on the mentality from the other parking threads I have broken two rules. I have occupied a space in the resort lot even though I am not staying there, AND I have occupied it for more than the alloted "3 hour window" (of which we have never been informed by a guard at the gate).

In reality, going on the "paid more, deserve more" mentality....our meal would likely come in around the $700 mark. That is more than a guest in a standard room at GF pays. Does that mean I am entitled to better parking? No, of course not.

Maybe you should park your RR at a soup kitchen parking lot and donate some of your 30k to feed some of the homeless people in this world or donate to the cancer foundation. Because if all you have to be irked about in life is a parking situation and you are so well off,,,,Then really your life is not as well off as you say ,,, think about the pettiness of your statement and then think there are children anywhere between the ages of infancy to teens with childhood cancer who will never see the inside of the happiest place on earth. PEOPLE LIKE YOU NEED TO GET OVER YOURSELVES:confused3

Come on 30K for a vacation and he is posting on disboards - please give me a break. .. very funny though :rotfl:

i agree....and drives a RR...not to mention SHOPS Nordstroms.....not the faciest shop in town. It is funny though. Also why wouldn't someone who spends that 3x a year 90k just buy DVC or buy a condo down there near WDW. Obviouslky they could afford it.

OP-
You started a new thread and I have no idea what other thread you are referencing. Are you wanting separate parking or do you think it is not right? What is your question, or grief?
Why are there 4 pages of posts when the first post doesn't make any sense? :confused3

I know, right??????

I just got it up to $58,501.38

changed the dates to 9/2 -9/16 and moved to GF Outer Building CL 2 BR.

so that's the number to beat, if anyone else is playing.

I know I can make that larger with a xmas eve and new years eve castle view. Unfortunately I can't play because every time I try to access to book a vacation part of the site it kicks me into a "summer deal". Bummer!

Op is talking about a thread where one poster was insisting that only people staying at the Boardwalk should use the Boardwalk parking lot and other guests, even ones with ADRs, should use the overflow parking.

At least that's my assumption.

Over the last two weeks, two very Sr. members of these boards have stated that known etiquette is that if you are not staying at the resort you should park further away even if open spots are available.

I never knew this and wanted to know if others did this as well.

Nordstrom's is a great store and the only store that had a nice selection of Toms. I'm not going to get into finances but DVC is not for us. We like to vacation and go home. And what fun is an Orlando condo?
