The only way to have a friend is to be one." -- Ralph Waldo Emerson

Lyzziesmom, I just saw the "Piece of Flair" that you put on my Facebook about the stairs and I am laughing hysterically...:lmao: I wish I could figure out how to put it on my page! For some reason I have the hardest time figuring out Facebook!:confused3 Now that they changed the layout its even more confusing!

Well I'm solved the mystery about the missing email notifications!! Somehow they were going to my Spam folder....:confused3

Ashley, here's a link to explain how to add Pieces of Flair to your wall. http://apps.facebook.com/getflair/flair_tutorial.php#Feed

I am not a fan of country, so I didn't like much of AI last night. I do like the original "Ring of Fire" so I am not sure how I feel about Adam (Mike HATED it). There were some others I did like though.

Lzziesmom, Happy (belated) half birthday to Lyzzie!!!

Spencer has started to cover his ears when you say something he doesn't like (such as "no"). I don't know whether to be annoyed or think it's cute.

Thanks for the link!! I will have to try that. I don't know what to think of the Ring of Fire performance either, I think I kind of liked it though.:confused3 :lmao:

Spencer is so cute, but I can tell he's going to be a handful! :goodvibes

Vent of the day: Everytime we go to Redbox to get a movie, the free codes never work. Every.Single.Time. It is driving me alittle crazy!!!

Ashley- I didn't see DWTS, but I know who got kicked off.

Amber- Awww, Spencer is so cute!

I went to the art museum, so I could start working on a project for art. I'm so tired, I was running up and down stairs. But I did have a nice time there. I'll have to drag Steven there one day!

Amber -- I know what you mean about the annoying/cute thing. It's definitely cute! Even though it might irritate you when he does it, you'll miss it when he outgrows it. Hopefully he will outgrow it, and not still be covering his ears when he's a teenager! :rotfl: My girls love hearing about the silly things they used to do when they were little, especially the stinker, "little turd" stuff.

Ashley: I don't know why the Redbox codes aren't working for you. On the website you should be able to find a customer service number, I would call them. I had trouble with a DVD being dirty one time and I called them, they were very nice and gave me a few extra free rentals. Of course, those might not work for you  but hopefully they can figure out what the problem is. I wonder if it's a problem with the machine? Stupid question, but you are using the right codes on the right days before they expire, right? And pressing the "use promo code" button? I had a coworker tell me that she doesn't think the codes work if you reserve your movies in advance online, don't know if you were doing that or not. Good luck! I know it's only $1, but it's still annoying when it should be free and it's not. That would make me mad!

I'm glad I asked my mom to record Idol for us, because just as I thought my DVR was full and didn't record it. So tonight we are headed to Mom's house to watch Tuesday's Idol. I hate watching it over there, because my folks don't usually watch and they always talk through the whole thing with all these dumb comments about how everyone looks, it's hard to just enjoy it that way. Remember the show Rock Star? Mom took one look at the guy who ended up winning, and said, "Oh he'll never win, he has way too many tattoos." Ummm, because apparently in her world rock stars don't have tattoos?! :headache:

Nicole -- you were running around in the art museum?! What kind of project are you working on?

Lyzzie didn't come home until 9pm yesterday. She and her friend spent 8 hours in the waterpark, and did the same thing the day before!! I'm surprised she wasn't all pruney. She had a great time. They got a free breakfast because the hotel room was overrun with ladybugs - the girls counted 35 ladybugs on ONE window and said there were 2 more windows that looked the same! The lady at the front desk told them, "Oh Kansas and Missouri have been having a problem with ladybugs." Lyzzie's friend's mom said, "Uhhh, lady we LIVE in Kansas and haven't seen any." That's when they were offered the free meal. They didn't want to change rooms because they had already unpacked. I guess ladybugs aren't that bad! The girls had a great time. Now I'll have to think of some way to reciprocate and bring Lyzzie's friend somewhere with us.

Hope all my friends are having a great day!!

I was finally able to get my phone to upload some pics!

Lyzzie's new hermit crab (his name is either BoLing, Krab, K, Hermie, or Vladimir) at the St. Patty's Day parade.

A blurry, scary close-up pic of the crab... he actually is cute and doesn't look like a giant tarantula but you can't tell from this pic!

Lyzzie showed her crab to everyone, including the monkey at the pet store!

This was a couple weeks ago at PetCo, this canary was so funny because it looks like it's wearing a bad toupee!
ToupeeBird.jpg

And this one was last month at Science Night at Lyzzie's school. I didn't get to go but my dad sent me this pic of Emma.

Oops, I almost forgot the best pic of them all... the kitties checking out their new lunch!
CrabforLunch.jpg

Good afternoon everyone!!

Lyzziesmom, Great pictures! Thanks for sharing them! Lyzzie's little hermit crab is adorable!! My suggestion is to buy some sand from the pet store and have one half of the tank with a layer of sand and the other half with gravel- the crabs love to dig in the sand! I can't believe how brave Emma is with that snake!!:scared1: I would probably be screaming.:rolleyes1 I don't think I would enjoy having ladybugs in my hotel room :scared: but they are good luck so you never know!!

Let me know what you think about American Idol. I know what you mean about how annoying it is when people talk during shows, when we have Survivor night at my house my Grandma and Aunt are always talking and I can never hear the show!:headache:

We got some good news from my Grandparents. They want to refinance this house and said they want to rent us the house for another year! I was just thinking last night how much I like it here so I'm excited!

Ashley that's great news on the house! Just watch out for all those stairs. :rolleyes1:

The girls and I had a great night last night. We watched Tuesday's Idol performances at my folks house, while my parents went car shopping. I'm kind of irritated with them. I can't remember how much I told you guys about my brother, but he has really been awful. My mom has finally admitted he has a drug problem but refuses to do anything about it, thinking he will just "get better." He wrecked his car, so my parents lent him their van. He wrecked that too. They got the van fixed, and for the past month or two my mom has been chauffeuring my dad around as well as my kids because they GAVE my brother my old car (which became my dad's car when I bought the Cwooozah!)!! So hmmm.... wreck 2 cars... get a new one!

So my dad has been car shopping, and he wants to get a PT Cruiser. Normally I'd be flattered that he likes mine, but for some reason it is making me really mad. I can't explain it without sounding like a jealous donkey, but that car was my dream car for so long, and it's the first car I chose and bought myself, and I'm just so proud of it and really really love it. I don't want my dad to buy one that is newer and has better options that I couldn't afford. It would somehow make my pride & joy seem less special to me. How dumb is that?!

Anyway, he chose a different car to look at yesterday but ended up not buying it. Now he kind of hinted that he wants me to come car shopping with him because I was able to lowball the dealership so well on the Cwooooozah! :lmao:

All of that was a very longwinded (who, me? :rolleyes1 ) way to say that we were able to watch Idol in peace!! Lyzzie is so funny because she was in the middle of saying "Ugh, I hate country music, it's so.... ooooh! Dolly Parton! I love her!" The girl is in love with Adam Lambert and had to watch him again on YouTube when we got home. That led to watching some Johnny Cash, and one thing led to another and we had a very fun YouTube dance party until well past their bedtime. Oops! Good thing there's no school today! It was a blast.

Oh and I have good news on the job front! The boss came to me today and said he's going to put me on the temp-to-perm plan starting Monday. We still haven't heard from the lady I'm filling in for, so everyone is assuming she won't come back. The boss just needs final approval from the owner to go ahead and hire me, but he said he can't imagine he wouldn't give me rave reviews. :teeth: And the best news is that I'm pretty sure the new contract comes with a higher pay rate!

Nicole -- how are things at your job? Did you ever find out any more about all the rumors? When does the new manager start?

Ashley- That's great news on the house!

Lyzziesmom- I like ladybugs, but even I would get a little creeped out! :scared1: I went to the museum because I have to write 4 papers on 4 pieces of art. So I was running around finding paintings that I liked. I like the pics! Yes, the close-up of the crab is a little creepy, Emma was pretty brave to have the snake on her shoulders, I think I would only pet it!!! I am so sorry about your brother, I hope he gets the help he needs. He needs tough love, not a car. I hope your dad doesn't get a Cruiser. I'm so happy the job is permanent! And lastly....I work with the new manager tonight. I'm a little nervous, I hope things go well!

I hope everyone has a good day!

Lyzziesmom, I 100% completely understand your feelings about your parents getting the same car!! I've felt that way alot of times before. I hope they end up with a different car. Glad you finally got to see your girls and you enjoyed American Idol! What did you think of everyone? At first I couldn't figure out my reaction from Adam Lambert (I think I had the same reaction as Kara!;)) Did you see who got voted off?

I meant to ask, last year at free dining did you book the bounceback? Just curious. I wonder if free dining is going to be released to the general public this year? Of course this is all wishful thinking, I'm not even sure if we are going on a trip. But I've been wanting to go bad!

Nicole, good luck tonight!! Hopefully the new manager will work out well.

Ashley -- no, we did not book the bounceback. I have a hard time with that deal because of the way they word the pricing, and I feel pressured to make a decision when I'm there and can't compare rates. I don't think the bounceback prices are any better than the regular free dining offer. The only advantage I believe is that you get better chances of availability where/when you want. I can't plan that far out in advance anyway... waiting a year would drive me crazy! I doubt we're going to go for free dining this year if it's offered, but you never know. I know for sure we will NOT travel with my family again, and the girls & I are such light eaters it's not always the best deal for us. I do wish I had a trip in the works though, I can't believe it's only been 2 months since we were there. I think this year we are going to do a couple smaller, close-to-home vacations instead. Of course it all depends on what kind of vacation time I end up getting at this job once it turns permanent... I still have to do the temp-to-perm contract through the agency which is 3 months. (Oh and I found out there is no pay change, darn it!)

I think Adam is really good on Idol. He is different, and definitely changes things up to fit his style. I could really see him being popular on the radio/videos. Not sure that I loved his Ring of Fire, but it sure was memorable and you'd know right away upon hearing it who it is, y'know? Lyzzie had to hop right on YouTube and watch it again, so I guess she liked it. Also she loves his hair and thinks he's "hot," bad skin, guyliner and all. Yeesh. Emma's favorite is Allison (girl with the pink/red hair). We haven't watched the results yet but I think I read elsewhere about who goes home. I am not a fan of Michael Sarver, he's not bad but I just don't see him being a "star." Matt G. is starting to grow on me, but I don't think I'd ever buy his music because he's just too mellow.

Last night Lyzzie kept wanting to watch David Cook on YouTube from last year. She said, "I don't know why, but I like him so much more when I'm watching him than when I'm just listening. I think it's because he's pretty hot."

Good luck at work tonight Nicole! I'm sure the new manager will love you -- who wouldn't? ;)

She said, "I don't know why, but I like him so much more when I'm watching him than when I'm just listening. I think it's because he's pretty hot."

:scared1: Tell Lyzzie she is much much too young for this kind of talk! :scared1: Tell her I said she can start thinking like that when she turns 20.;)

I don't like Michael either. I think he should've gone this week. He's just not very entertaining. His little girl is adorable though!

I've been worried about my cat Lily, she's been limping alittle on one of her front paws.:guilty: She's never done anything like that before. Maybe she landed on it wrong?:confused3

Hey!

Lyzziesmom, that's great about your job!! :woohoo:

I COMPLETELY understand why you wouldn't want your dad to get the same car. My mom does that.

Ashley, maybe Lily just stepped on something.

Did you look into the 4 for 3 offer they have? I think they extended it through August; it may be a better offer than free dining. They also have FL resident deals, but I don't think they are for more than April right now.

We are suppose to go to Epcot this Sunday. It was just suppose to be Mike, Spencer, and I, but then his mom and dad wanted to go. So, now we are suppose to eat at Biergarten as well. I am a little worried about them going, because his dad tends to wander off and they take FOREVER to get ready. I don't want to waste half the day waiting on them. I am hoping it will be fun though.

Ugh Amber, I know exactly what you mean. I've found it works to just say, "We're going to head over to ____, you can catch up with us there," than to wait around for others. And bring cell phones!! I can't stand waiting around for slowpokes, and don't like to make other people wait around for me because I hate thinking I might be slowing them down. Good luck!

Ashley, oh I know! Lyzzie is too young to be talking like that! But I'm glad she doesn't feel embarrassed to say anything around me. Have you checked the bottom of your kitty's feet? Make sure she doesn't have any cuts on her pads, or any litter or anything stuck between her toes. I'm sure she's fine, cats tend to get a lot of small injuries and recover on their own. Unless she is crying and keeping it totally off the ground, I wouldn't worry about it.

That is a great deal, but we want to go around my birthday in October. Hopefully they extend the offer! I'm also waiting for the Florida Resident or Annual Pass discounts, I like booking the dining plan with the AP discount, that usually works for us. Hopefully you have fun at Epcot!! I agree with Lyzziesmom, if they are taking too long, just take cell phones and have them call to meet up again.

Lyzziesmom, it is great she confides in you! It's a great thing to have a close relationship with your Mom.

Tonight we are going out to dinner and then to a Twilight party for the release of the DVD! I feel slightly dorky but I want the DVD anyway so I'm going.;) Tomorrow we are going to a park that is having a little get together for pet rescues. Supposedly they are selling pug items so I better bring some money.:rolleyes1 Jeremiah also needs a haircut.

What are everyone else's plans for this weekend?

Tonight was hectic! The new manager was nice, and we got along well. I made a bonehead move, a customer told me she had a gift card and I forgot to ask her for it and charged it to her CC. And since I'm not authorized to do returns, the manager had to do it and recharge her for it and she got a little frazzled. I felt so bad. But she did tell me that there is an opening for a asst. manager, (the other lady is not leaving after all) and that we would talk about it later. So we will see.

That sounds like good news about the job Nicole! Best of luck. I'm glad you got along with the new manager.

Ashley, how was the Twilight release party? They had one the other night at the mall at Hot Topic, they are right upstairs from TDS and we could hear them all night. They were very loud! I stopped in with the girls yesterday (we were shopping in the mall after work anyway) and they are charging too much for the DVD -- almost $30. Thanks but no thanks! We will probably rent it from Redbox this week if they have it.

Some time this week we are having annual reviews at TDS. I guess this must be something new because a few months ago I asked if/when we get reviews and I was laughed at. Our store manager is very tough and picky so I'm sure it won't be fun. I was informed today that the store is doing a "realease party" for Bolt on Tuesday (even though WalMart is already selling it  ) and we're having story time and maybe a craft for the kids. Guess who is in charge of reading the story?! ME!! I thought it was funny because I suggested story time about 6 months ago. I'm looking forward to it, should be a fun time!

Gotta go get these kids to bed, it is waaaay past their bedtime and they are still on Spring Break time. Tomorrow is their last day off. Hope everyone had a good weekend.

PS - Ashley, did you buy Ruby any goodies at the park?
