The only way to have a friend is to be one." -- Ralph Waldo Emerson

I know, aren't I a dork?! I always do ALOT of research on pets before I buy them, its a sickness!

Actually, that's really good. That way your aren't just buying a pet because you think it's cute and fun.

Lyzziesmom- Have fun at the bar!

Lin- Have fun at the wedding!

Well, I might have to look for another job.... our store manager is leaving and apparently let it slip that our new manager might let everyone go and hire a new staff. :sad2: Now there are two people that I honestly think should be let go, but I guess I'll take the rumor with a grain of salt. But then there's talk of me possibly becoming a assistant manager because one lady is leaving. :confused3 It's all so confusing! I just hope I don't lose my job, I've only been there a month!

Oh no Nicole!! I hope it all works out. Maybe its a sign that you should go back to working at Disney.:rolleyes1 ;)

Good Morning

Nicole, I hope it works out; that really stinks. :grouphug:

Ashley, I don't think you are a dork either for researching pets. So many people just buy something because it's cute (or whatever) and then have no idea what goes into caring for it.
Mike and his best friend love aquariums; I can't tell you how much research they do just to have a couple fish and some plants.

Well, one of my molars cracked last night. So, I have a jagged piece stabbing my tongue and I'm scared of getting the tooth fixed. :sad1:

Oh no Nicole! I hope the promotion rumor is true and the other one is not. That would really stink if the new manager starts over, I don't really see the point in that at all.

Amber, I hope your tooth isn't too bad. When I cracked a molar I decided to just have it pulled out, because it was the last one way in the back and it would have taken so much to fix it. I cracked the darn thing nearly in half eating a Cheez-It! Hopefully yours won't be too bad. You shouldn't wait to get it looked at though, it could get a lot worse. Sorry for being such a mother hen, I can't help it!

Well we went yesterday to look at crabs and then went back today to buy one. Lyzzie likes it a lot, but Emma LOVES it! And of course the kitties love it too, I don't know how we are going to keep them away.

The pet store we went to was really neat. They let you touch all the animals except for one -- the monkey in a huge cage in the middle of the store!

After crab shopping we went to a St. Patty's Day parade. The newspaper said the parade would be from 1-3pm but it was only about 15 minutes long. It is a little chilly out today so that was just about right. The kids were upset because they didn't get any candy , just one broken peppermint. As if we don't have a big candy bowl at home that they hardly ever touch!

Now I am printing out coupons from my email, and we are getting ready to go grocery shopping. I have been putting it off for too long, we hardly have any food in the house. I hate grocery shopping!

I finally joined FaceBook this morning. I have wasted all morning on that darn thing!

Lyzziesmom, congrats on the new addition!

I love Facebook!

My tooth is horrible. :guilty: The piece broke off so now I have a jagged edge poking my tongue. I have an appointment for next Wednesday (that's the soonest I could get in). I hope it's ok until then. They will probably have to surgically remove it and I do NOT want to be put under. I am such a baby, but I HATE HATE HATE the dentist.

Amber, I'm so so sorry about your tooth! Teeth problems REALLY suck. Hopefully everything turns out ok. Maybe you should call the dentist and let them know you are in pain, they could be able to get you in sooner. I would highly recommend getting sedated if they pull it, its sooooo easy, but I totally understand your apprehension. Everything will be ok! Let the dentist know you are nervous. When I went to the dentist this last time for my root canal I took half a Xanax and it worked wonders!

Lyzziesmom, Congrats on the hermit crab and your new Facebook page!:yay:

I'm so, so happy this weekend is over. It was just nightmarish. I feel like my family might be mad because my Mom and I didn't stay as long at the house like some others did, but I would just get so exhausted! We were there atleast 5-6 hours every day. I feel worried that they think I didn't contribute enough, but I honestly did what I could...I just wasn't up to doing alot of bending and heavy lifting. Plus I couldn't really be in the house because of all the dust, and I have a sneaking suspicion there is a mold problem. My asthma has really been acting up! My Mom and I mostly headed up the garage sale outside, which helped to get out of the dust. But it was very hot! I don't think we got everything accomplished, which is what I thought would happen, but atleast my Grandparents got a head start. We painted 1 bedroom and the whole living room so it looks really good. I tried to throw out as much as I could, but some people were pretty resistant......:rolleyes1

Anyway, moving on from that long, rambling paragraph!....I think I need a nap! My family wanted me to go to Ikea with them this afternoon, but that place is so huge I just don't have the strength!! We went to Japan Inn for lunch, it was so fun! They have a hibachi grill and we had a funny chef that cooked all the food. I got yummy chicken and teriyaki steak. Now I think I'm going to take a nap.:cloud9:

Amber, I'm so sorry your tooth got so bad! I can't believe they are making you wait until next Wednesday. Is there an emergency dentist that you maybe can go to? (I just noticed that all my banner ads on the page are about teeth! :teeth:)

Ashley: I wouldn't worry about what your family thinks about your helping... the important thing is that you helped and did what you could. If some others were able to do more, well good for them but they shouldn't expect everyone else to do the same. You did what you could and I'm sure it made a huge difference. It sounds like it was a really big job.

Your Japan lunch sounds pretty good, I love teriyaki. Funny story about the hermit crab -- when we bought it, the store clerk said the cage was a little dusty (it looked fine to me) so he would give us a travel container to bring the little guy home in. He came back with the crab in a Chinese to-go box!! :rotfl: Just looking at that thing made me hungry, so we went to lunch at Bo Lings (our fave Chinese restaurant) and Lyzzie almost named her crab Bo Ling. He still doesn't have a name, she is thinking about K (as in Krab-with-a-k, the fake crab meat my dad likes from the supermarket) or Hermie. I think the kitties would rather name him Lunch! I have a great pic of them checking out the cage but can't get my phone to upload it. Grrr!

Amber- I'm sorry about your tooth! See if they can get you in sooner.

Ashley- Don't worry about what everyone else thinks. You helped out and that's all that matters!

Lyzziesmom-Facebook is addicting isn't it! I'm glad the girls like the crab!

Well, I'm not sure about work, one of the girls that works in another mall came by (the new manager was being trained at another mall) and told us that the new manager is nice, but kind of strict, which is what we need. She also said that she has been accepting applications. I'm not sure if that includes sales associates or not. I work with her on Friday, I wonder if I should talk to her about possibly replacing the lady that is leaving. :confused3 I doubt they would even consider me since I haven't been there long. One of the assistant managers was going to go by the store even though it was her day off to kiss butt! It's so funny, this girl says she likes her job and doesn't want to be let go, but she is so lazy! I feel like telling her if she really wants to stay, do some actual work and prove yourself! She even told the new manager that she wasn't trained properly, which is a lie, she's just lazy. :sad2:

Nicole -- I'm sorry about your lazy coworker. I'm sure the new manager will figure it out on her own pretty quickly. Usually when people talk about how they don't want to lose their job because they like it so much, it's because they are having too much fun and not doing enough work and are afraid there is a reason to lose their job. If they are really good at it, they shouldn't have to tell people how much they deserve to keep it.

Last night was inventory at TDS. I felt kind of bad, because I was scheduled to leave just after everyone else was showing up to do inventory. I got a few dirty looks as I was leaving for sure! My store manager asked me to stay but I just couldn't, it would have been way too late after working a full 14 hours already. She started telling me, "Well y'know, this one and that one are coming in and they have kids too so you should be able to do it." I was thinking, "Yeah, but they don't have another job, they are coming in when I'm leaving, and they have a husband at home with the kids." It turned out fine though because she showed me how to count down the drawers and do the nightly deposit, which usually only managers are supposed to do.

Did everyone remember to wear their green today? Don't want anybody to get pinched! ;)

Hey guys!

pugpaddy2007.jpg

Is anybody else not getting their email notifications for their subscribed threads? It's annoying me alittle!:headache:

Nicole, hopefully you get some concrete answers about your job soon. That must be so stressful!! Kissing butt is never a bad idea if you do like working there....:rolleyes1

Lyzziesmom, My hats off to you, I'm just not sure how you do it! I wouldn't be able to work those long hours. You would think they would be understanding! I'm so glad they are giving you more responsibility though, that's great!!

Amber, how's the tooth? Is it feeling any better?

Jeremiah and I are trying to decide if we are going to the West Coast this weekend (of Florida of course!) to my cousin's baby shower. After this past weekend I just want to relax but I do want to see my Grandparents. I think we'll probably wait a couple weeks to drive up and skip this weekend. It would be fun to go to Busch Gardens though, since we have our annual passes to there!

What did everyone think of DWTS last night? I love Shawn Johnson, I think her and her partner are so cute together! I was kind of hoping they might be dating but I just read he is dating Joanna Pacitti, the girl who was kicked off of American Idol.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Tuesday!

P.S. Just cause I thought it was funny:) :

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

Lyzziesmom, I worked two jobs before and it was hard. I can't imagine doing it with kids.

Ashley, that sticker is too funny!!! :rotfl:
Good luck deciding what to do this weekend. I want to try Busch Gardens some time. Mike has been there before (many years ago). I did go the one in Williamsburg, but wasn't that thrilled with it.
We want to go to Epcot this week and see the Flower and Garden festival.

Nicole, I hope things work out with your job.

My tooth is ok for now (knock on wood). Although Spencer did hit me in the jaw (with his head) and I was terrified it was going to hurt the tooth more. :guilty:

I am trying to fold laundry, but Spencer keeps taking everything and unfolding it. Anyone know where I can buy a baby straight jack? :rolleyes1 ;)

ETA: He has now removed the pants he was wearing and is walking around yelling at them.

Amber, I am so cracking up at Spencer yelling at his pants!!

When Emma was little she loved to "help" with the laundry. If she wasn't busy unfolding & throwing clothes around, she was climbing into the laundry basket or the dryer.

I'm glad your tooth is feeling better.

Ashley -- I haven't been to Busch Gardens in many many years (pre-kids) but I remember loving it. They have great rollercoasters! OH... and I knew just what you meant when you said the West Coast. I still have to remind myself that there is a whole nother West Coast that's not on the Gulf. :rolleyes2

Oops, today is Lyzzie's half-birthday (she is 10 and 1/2) and I didn't get to talk to her today. I am working again tonight and she is off with her friend at Coco Key, which is sort of like Great Wolf Lodge. I bet she's having a blast!

Ashley -- are your emails working yet? I always have those turned off, otherwise my inbox gets flooded and I'm usually signed in here enough that I read the post before I even get the email anyway.

Ashley -- are your emails working yet?

Nope, they aren't!! It is so strange. I usually delete the emails unless its for this thread. It's just easier for me to find the thread by clicking on the link in the email. I wonder why they have stopped? I haven't gotten any since last week.

I'm so jealous of Lyzzie! I'm sure she's having a great time!!! (And tell her when you talk to her that I say Happy 10 1/2 Birthday!)

(Holy moly, I can't believe she is 10 1/2!!!!:scared1: Time is just flying by!!!)

Happy 10 1/2 Birthday Lyzzie!!!

Amber-That's too funny that Spencer was yelling at his pants!

Ashley- I like Shawn Johnson too, I hope she stays on the show for a while.

I hope everyone had a good St Patrick's Day!

I woke up this morning and it was a little bit light in my room, I thought I overslept! I have shades on my curtains so the only time light actually reaches into the room is around 10am -- I was freaking out and wondering why nobody called me. Turns out my bedside lamp was on low (it's only a 30-watt bulb and it has 4 settings, so low is like 5 watts) so that's where the light came from. It was only about 4:30am! :headache: I had a hard time getting back to sleep because I was so worried about oversleeping. Now I'm really REALLY tired.

Ashley -- that's weird about the emails. I usually find us by going under my subscribed threads, then I can just check any new posts on any thread I've ever posted on. It's funny because sometimes some really old ones come up!

Did anyone go out and have some green beer last night?

Did anyone go out and have some green beer last night?

No, we didn't, but we wanted to! We went out last St.Patrick's Day and it was so crowded, so we decided not to go. We were wishing it was on a weekend because there is this great Irish restaurant called The Field that we love and I know they were having a big party there! But, its hard enough to find parking on the weekends when it isn't a holiday so I know it would be extra hard yesterday!

Sorry you didn't sleep well Lyzziesmom! That is the worst.

Anybody have any thoughts on American Idol or DWTS last night? I don't really like country music so at first I was kind of bored, but I did end up liking a couple songs!!

Lalalalalaaaa! (I'm covering my eyes so I can't see!) I haven't watched Idol yet, I was working. I don't know if my DVR had room to record it -- I've been too pooped to watch much on it this week -- but I had Mom record it on hers just in case. So, I might not get to watch for a couple days if I have to watch at their house.
