The One with the Mommy Meltdown

yes and I loved it. i carried a couple of diapers, 2 jars of baby food, bibs, spoon, wallet, individual fans and snacks. and I dont remember what else.

That's cool that you even used it in place of a diaper bag, essentially! :thumbsup2 We had a backpack diaper bag that stayed on the stroller, the Bagallini bag held everything else :)

I bought this one last year in Khaki & it is still in the package

Bust it out, goofball! :) I think I want to order the Crinkle one in Platinum or whatever the greyish one is called now. Red just wasn't smart. It's a gorgeous color, but I always wear pink! :rotfl:

Jeff had the back pack that had change of clothes, autograph pages, sunscreen, cameras. I also had meds in the bagallini

I will use it this summer when we go to six flags

Love the latest installment! :thumbsup2

The girls look so cute holding up their medals from the race!!! You got some great pics of the Boardwalk. Ohhh....and your description of the filet at The Wave is enticing me to add it to our list of ADR's when we go for our adult-only trip this May!!

Hi...I just found your report. I remember you from the Newest moms to be thread. I can't believe your girls are going to be one soon (it was June wasn;t it??) They are too darn cute! I love the little girl clothes. My mom and I took Caleb shopping last weekend and we were looking for clothes for him and I saw all the cute little girls clothes. i am going to be in big trouble if I ever have a little girl. I have no will power...she will have all of the clothes...how will i ever decide??:confused3
Is your one daughter still dealing with reflux?? Caleb has it too still. I thought he would grow out of it by now (just turned 6 mos) but nope still spits up a ton. Doctor did take him off the meds and we don;t have to go to the specialist anymore bc he is a much happier baby but they are not concerned because it does not seem to bother him anymore.
We are planning on taking him to WDW when he will be 16 mos. We are planning on taking our own stroller which we will need at the airport anyways, so hopefully that will be some comfort of home for him (that and grandma and grandpa and his uncle, aunt and cousin LOL!) I too want to stay at BC or BCV depending on whatever is available. We love the close proximity to Epcot and DHS! We stayed at BW last time but want to try BC this time.

We have 4.5 year old twin boys, and our first few trips were adventures for lack of a better word! It's hard enough to work around one infant's sleep/eat/play schedule, much less two, even when they are in synch!

I highly recommened the Peg Perego Twin Aria XL Side-by-Side stroller. It's the same width as an adult wheelchair, so by law, it has to fit through doors and openings. It's easy to push, folds down very flat, has a little tray in front of both sides for meals on the go, and it's very sturdy. The sunshades are pathetic though, so you will need lots of sunscreen and hats!

I love your trip report. I am certain traveling with the wee ones is a challenge for all young parents. It sounds like you all adjusted quite well, in spite of it all! Looking forward to hearing more. Your little ones are gorgeous.

Barbara

I am all caught up again and really enjoying your trip report. Is it my imagination or do your daughters get prettier with each picture? :grouphug:

The run sounded like a lot of fun, but I am sorry that they breakfast was such a bust.

After reading your report, I really want to stay the BW villas. I hope one of these days I get a chance.

Hello! I just found your tr and I am loving every minute of it! Your girls are adorable! I am interested to hear how it is traveling with little ones....its as challanging as I imagined  but rewarding too. I cannot get over the crowds though.....man....did you know it would be soo crowded? :confused3 OK I am going to catch up on the rest tomorrow....I made it half way through plus I have to finish looking at all of your lovely pictures....what kind of camera do you have? You take great pics!!!!:thumbsup2

I know, I can't believe they'll be a year old before we know it! My girls FINALLY got off the Zantac at about 8.5 months old. They still spit up like crazy, but I think it might - MIGHT - be tapering :) They're "happy spitters" now, for the most part, and growing like weeds.... so we could finally stop the medicine. We tried every month before that, starting at about 4 months, and they just still needed it up to that point. I'm happy to hear it's not bother Caleb anymore! :goodvibes:

Have a great time planning his first trip! :teeth:

I will definitely check the stroller out. I "test drove" several and prefer the tandem for most outings, but we are looking to buy a side-by-side for places like Disney where they'll fight over the front seat as they get bigger ;) Thank you so much for the suggestion!

I am really enjoying hearing about your trip---and seeing the pcitures, of course :0

Thank you guys, for reading and for your sweet compliments. I think my girls are pretty sweet ;)

I was definitely blind-sided by the crowds. I knew it wasn't the slowest of times, but we really did seem to miss Spring Break (not all, but for the most part) since Easter is so late this year. I honestly have no idea where all the people came from.... perhaps the secret multiples convention that wasn't really going on? :upsidedow The crowd levels were that were predicted were not nearly as bad as it turned out to be, but it worked out ok!

Thanks for the comments on pictures, I wish I could have taken so many more! I have the Canon S5-IS, though I really want a Rebel XTi or similar. Some day.... I did have a lot of fun shooting with manual settings (for the most part, though not entirely), so I'm pleased with how some of them turned out!

I finally made it over to your report. Man, I love Spring Break!

Anyway, I haven't read it all, but wanted to comment on your first day. Wow, I can soooo relate. I have had those same distressed "no magic" thoughts. It's like you want magic and pixie dust and happy smiles so badly that it hurts all that much more when it doesn't work out. Damn Disney and my high expectations! :lmao:

And traveling to WDW with a baby (or babies!) is so different, so much more complicated, that it's not even a vacation. We hardly rode anything when we were there for the 5k. I think 3 rides. Total. In 3 days! It's fun in a different way - and when yours are Scooners age, you'll really start reeping some rewards.

Anyway, I'm really enjoying your report. Your girls are so precious I could just eat them up (I didn't know what that phrase really meant til I had Scooner. It's like you could honestly slap some frosting on them and start chewing! :rotfl: )

Hi there! Nice to see you here :goodvibes: Enjoy your time off with Lil' Scooner!

Sunday, March 8th

As we woke up for the first time on Sunday, we looked at the clock and saw it was nearly 7:00am! The girls hadn't made a peep, and - thanks to Daylight Savings Time changes - they wouldn't be ready for a nap at the exact time the parks would start to open! Sure, we lost an hour at Disney... but if it makes for a more enjoyable trip, I'd have given up a few! ;)

On our way to Epcot, I grabbed a Blueberry Mickey Muffin at the Bakery and Kyle grabbed a mug o' coffee at Boardwalk Joe's. We took our time and still strolled in just a few minutes after 9. As we headed toward Future World, we could see that the race was still in full swing. The later start time had a lot to do with it, I'm sure, but it actually worked out well. I don't know if people were avoiding Epcot because of the event or what, but the park was empty! We weren't sure how long it would last, but we were going to take advantage of it while we could.

Our first stop was the Land Pavilion. I had been dreaming of riding Soarin' again, and was so desperate to do so that I could practically smell the Orange Groves when I listened to the soundtrack at home. :cloud9: I grabbed a fast pass and then "waited" (walked right on) in the Standby Line, grabbing a rider swap pass on the way. We might both get to ride twice, with very little or no wait! :thumbsup2

Every time I ride it, that ride is every bit as good as the first time. It was made more sweet by sitting between two first time riders, too! :goodvibes

While Kyle was riding, the girls decided to wake up. They played with their Mickey and Pluto plushes while we waited, and as soon as he returned we strapped the girls in their carriers, left the stroller behind, and headed for the Seas! Maybe Avery and Elise would get to enjoy something, too! ;)

We walked immediately onto The Seas w/Nemo and Friends, which the girls found moderately interesting. I'm sure it pales in comparison to some dark rides, when you are too distracted by things like jacket zippers to notice fish in distant aquariums :upsidedow They actually enjoyed the aquariums in the pavilion after the ride much more, because they had time to notice and watch the fish.

008-averyattheseas03.jpg

Turtle Talk was just about to begin when we exited the ride, so we walked in to see if the girls would make it through the show. They did well, and Avery was actually captivated by Crush! Elise couldn't have cared less, and wanted to get out and go somewhere else, but she stayed very quiet. Thank you, Cheerios. ;)

Next stop was the Imagination Pavilion, to introduce the girls to our friend Figment. They enjoyed the ride, but were - as you might expect - scared silly with the Blast(!) :)

011-elisewatchingfigment03.jpg

We stopped in the Kodak Labs to send a quick hello to the grandparents, and were disappointed to find most of the options for silly postcards had been removed! Oh, well. 3920483 takes later, and we were all at least looking at the camera. It would have to do!

So here we were, before lunch, and we'd already ridden three rides AND posed for a postcard. What was happening?! :rotfl: All the excitement left the girls exhausted, so they got a bottle and settled back into the stroller while Kyle rode Soarin' on the FP. A series of unfortunate events, crabby (nay, hysterical) babies, etc would leave me unable to ride again, but it's ok. We'll go back :) I took them to the companion restroom to change diapers, then for a walk around FW West to calm down until Kyle met up with us.

We would have loved to hit Sunshine Seasons for lunch at this time, but it would have obviously been impossible while the girls were asleep, since there are no strollers allowed downstairs. Electric Umbrella it is! Oh, well, I thought. I secretly love WDW Chicken Finger meals, and haven't had one in several trips! Except that the Electric Umbrella is apparently closed. Seriously, where did the Planner in me go?!

At some point during the trip thus far, we had decided we would just do our best to hang out wherever we were if the girls fell asleep somewhere on the go. This day, it meant wandering around Mouse Gear until they woke up. This girl had no complaints about that! ;) I do, however, have a complaint about the new Vinylmation ..... things that we first saw there. Um, what? Perhaps I'm just not cultured enough or something, but .... what? They weren't for us, anyway

We grabbed lunch at the Lotus Blossom Cafe on the way back to the hotel, eating quickly so we could get back and swim when the girls were awake. Someone remind me what they might have served for dessert in a previous trip... the smoothies on the menu aren't an option (which I don't recall having anyway) and your choices are two different ice creams. We each got a different flavor, and the Caramel Ginger ice cream tasted EXACTLY like a spa treatment. I live for said Treatments, and the aroma that fills the entire room at a local day spa I (sort of) frequent (though not nearly as often as I would like) is somehow instantly relaxing to me. Via my nostrils, not my taste buds. It was the strangest thing to taste, and I just couldn't do it.... Kyle's Red Bean stuff wasn't much better. Oh, well, chalk it up to a new experience! ;)

Saturday, cont'd

Since the girls had caught a pretty decent (read: 40 minute) nap in the stroller, we thought it would be the perfect time to go for a swim!

031-averypool03.jpg

We quickly found out they were just a few inches too small to sit in the baby pool on their own, so most of our time was spent motoring them around the Luna Park pool. They loved every minute of it, even the (multiple) times we took them underwater. What can I say, Kyle used to teach lessons and I have swam since I was younger than they are... they had no choice! Swim lessons here we come! :yay:

We stayed in the pool for about an hour, then headed to the room for baths/showers and naps. As I sat in the room listening to the whimsical sounds of the Boardwalk (even that blasted, obnoxious seagull!), the Resort TV music playing softly in the room, and the girls snoring away (remnants of pneumonia and all ), I realized that the trip had passed the "break even" point to "I'm (finally) at least glad we came". Perhaps it would even end up a "good" trip, after all!

034-eliseasleep03.jpg

Before long, it was ready to head to dinner with Pooh and friends at the Crystal Palace! When we got there, there were dozens of people filling the porch, the walkways all around the restaurant, etc. Seriously, where did everyone come from? Still, the girls enjoyed playing (out of the stroller) while we waited, and we were seated in about 15 minutes.

051-sweetgirlsplaying03.jpg

It also gave me opportunity to get pictures of their adorable outfits, from DIS friend my3princes! :goodvibes

It was during this dinner that we learned Elise and Avery really DO like the characters, so long as they haven't been up since 4:30am traveling. They loved every bit of interaction with Pooh, Piglet, Tigger and Eeyore. They loved feeling them (I'm sure the fact that they are like giant plush helps!). They watched as each one approached the table (including staring as they visited tables before us),

084-eliselovestiggertoo03.jpg

interacted with them the entire time they were with us,

and watched as they walked away and until they were out of sight.

After dinner (which wasn't bad either ;)), I took Avery to the Baby Care Center to get changed and wait for Kyle and Elise. We made lots of wonderful CM friends, and soon the 4 of us were heading down Main Street to grab a spot for Spectromagic afterall.

097-girlsears03.jpg

For whatever reason, things had worked out today and - even though the crowd situation wasn't ideal - we'd get to see Spectro & Wishes after all! I literally had tears in my eyes as it started, I was so excited.

104-jenandgirls03.jpg

Elise tried her darndest to stay awake for the parade,

100-elisewatchingspectro03.jpg

and Avery woke up for a minute here and there.

101-sleepygirlswatchingspectro03.jpg

They seemed to be as enamored of it as I am, from what I could tell. ;) We got one of my favorite spots for Wishes, too. What a beautiful night! :goodvibes

110-wishes03.jpg

It was utter chaos trying to leave, as we expected, but the girls slept and we were actually transferring them to the car by 9:45pm. We were all exhausted when we got back to the room, but couldn't have asked for a better day. Finally ;)
