Well its open season again ;) time for the yard saling to begin! Well at least here its hitting full swing. I have driven by at least 10 " Neighbourhood yard sale" signs in the last 2 days! I am planning my strategy now ;)

So, here is the place to brag about what you bought, complain about the prices, traffic, or pushy people and post in awe of the adult diapers ( only gently used) that you found at an estate sale... basically anything to do with yard sales!

So far this week,
I went out this morning and I scored big time. I found a day bed with a trundle for the guest room for $20. its gorgeous and will match perfectly. A dresser for same room for $5. a Shoji paper screen for my room for $5. and a new working vacuum for $1

So what did you find?

I have a basement full of stuff, and I would pay someone to come and take it all away! Want to make a trip to VT?

We are having a neighborhood yard sale on June 10th, and I think I will shlep is all upstairs and down the street. And none of it is coming back I tell you!

I need to have a yard sale, but I live in an apartment with a yard which is not conducive to a yard sale. I'm trying to figure out where else I may be able to sell off some of our junk.

We have probably two boxes of books, clothes, some housewares, and various other items that I'm ready to get rid of.

LOL Denae!

Sure why not?

When I left this morning I still had 2 rooms with NO furniture in them. Now the guest room will have a trundle bed and a dresser! :)

Now I need some chairs for the dining room, a comfy chair for my living room, some "floppy chairs" for the toy room and a table set for the girls room.
Its hard when you almost double the size of your house! I thought I had a lot of furniture but I dont have enough to fill this place!

So far that is what Im looking at. Whew!

Im pretty happy with my finds today though :)

I went out today again and found some amazing deals!

A 42 inch TV ( DH is in HEAVEN!!!) for $200. a small table and one chair :confused3: I guess the other one broke or something for the girls room for $2 for the set. a gorgeous pair of lanterns to put next to the hot tub. They are huge, on stainless stands with the lanterns hanging down from the hooks, remind me of old street lanterns, anyway, I asked the guy how much he wanted for the pair and the fireplace tool set right next to them and he said "I just want to get rid of it, how about $10 for all of it" ummm ok. SO I bought that then saw the same lantern later at the spa store, just ONE for $179!
then I found some misc toys for the girls and some other household stuff for cheap too,. I was very happy this weekend! :)

Anyone else go back out today?

no finds this week but I sold over $200 so I am HAPPY! :thumbsup2

My DH was the yard sale bargain finder a few days ago. He got a BIG box of Star Wars figures, ships, and other SW items for $50. The bargain part was that most everything was unopened in it's original packaging and some of the figures are very sought after collectibles. The seller was moving so he was anxious to get rid of things. I don't think he realized the value of what he had in that box but as soon as my DH saw it, he offered $50 for the whole thing and the guy said okay. I think he was taken by surprise when DH wanted to buy everything. The original selling price of the items is at least $150-$200 but some of the sought after figures are now worth much more than their original price. I'm very proud of my DH and his find. :thumbsup2

We went to a couple this morning ~ found a pair of roller blades for DD8 for $5, a 13" TV for the spare room in the new house for $10, a wooden Mickey Mouse frame from WDW for $2 that will be perfect for a family picture from our upcoming trip ;), DD7 spent $1 on 102 Dalmatians movie and a guy gave her a Lion King toy for free :simba: .

Wow!! I just want to subscribe. Love these deals!

The only thing I found was a $.25 plastic figurine of Lilo. :)

Thats awesome, good for you!!

We're going to have our own sale in a couple of weeks, Im amazed at how much stuff we had that just didnt "go" in this house KWIM?

Ok I havent posted for a couple of weeks so let me do a quick recap. I have furnished my guest room with the exception of a twin mattress for a total of.... ( drum roll please) $32!!!! thats right THIRTY TWO dollars!!!

I found the aforementioned daybed for $20, and dresser for $5 and then last week a coffee table to go in front of the daybed for $5!!! The coffee table is gorgeous, solid wood with 2 drawers.Well the bottom drawer fell apart so they sold it cheap. I have a perfect wicker basket that is the exact size and it looks so cute!!

Oh and I found a a beautiful framed print to go in there for $1 and a wreath for the other wall for $1. Im very happy!!

Todays steal though was an entertainment armoire. I found it this morning at a yard sale its 6 and half feet tall, has doors that slide into the sides and the TV shelf slides out and swivels AND the moulding on it exactly matches my fireplace. Its solid wood and very nice. It is missing a knob though so she sold it to me for $80! Very happy about that one!

Also found two can lights for $1 each, a ceramic parrot to hang from the ceiling from Mexico for Cams surfing room and a nice menu board for the kitchen for $4

Next?

I'd love to see some pictures of your finds.

You've motivated me to go out and look but I don't think I'm going to find any deals like you did.

DH and I were at a charity yardsale last month. I found two old brochures from a New Orleans restaurant for 10 cents each (we paid 50 cents since it was for charity! :sunny: ) and I just sold them on Amazon for a total of $56.00!

wtg Kitty! Thats awesome :)

OK here are some pictures of my some of my recent finds.

and my new to me to chairs that I bought for a total of $6. for all 3. I painted them all and I think they look really cool.

I decided to keep the coffee table in the living rom and move the coffee table that is in there now up to the guest room. The new coffee table and entertainment go so well together!
