Tonite will be what we call "smothered" pork chops (cooked with green peppers and onions in a gravy), mashed potatoes and corn.

What's in your gravy?? And would it be just as good on chicken breasts?

Sure, you can "smother" chicken as well. Just dust the chicken with flour and saute in a little oil, add sliced bell peppers and onions, a little water or white wine, cover and "smother" over low heat until done. Sometimes I cheat and mix up a pack of gravy mix and add it for even more gravy. Down here we "smother" pork chops, chicken and even a tougher cut of steak, like a round steak.
 
OK, I know I posted already today and I was hoping to have take out Chinese...me being lazy, but I am craving Kathy's Chicken Rueben so that is what I will make...

the smothering of chicken and pork sounds great too...I have to make that soon as well...thanks TigerKat!!!!

We're having Boar's Head hot dogs, corn, and maybe mac & cheese. I don't feel that great today so I'm glad I planned on an easy dinner tonight. We also have cub scouts that I'm going to try to get out of and just send DH with DS. I almost always have to take DS by myself so DH better not complain when I tell him I'd rather stay home.

It is a cold rainy day here and I'm in the mood for chili so I think that is what I'm going to do. I might even go all out and make my super duper fattening chili with ground beef and mild pork sausage. *drool*
 
We had sausage last night too! I made chicken-apple sausages, pan roasted with apples, sage and onions. We also had mashed potato cakes from the leftover potato moussiline and broccoli (again).

Tonight I am making shirred eggs and serving them with a compote of roasted cherry tomatoes, garlic, and rosemary. Plus some crustry bread.

Carne adovada...one pot of beef and one pot of pork. I am leaving for a cruise Saturday and having a party every night until then to make up to my family and friends that are not going. We will have guacamole and all the fixings as well.
 
Finally had my grilled chicken (last night I ended up at Dsis's house and made dinner--homemade chicken nuggets and mashed taters for them) tonight--kiddos had hotdogs! Really hoping to try the Chicken Reuben recipe--DH LOVES 1000 Island dressing, so maybe I can convince him to try it

Turkey and black bean taco's on whole wheat soft taco's.

Funny thing happened though...............my pepper grinder broke when I was grinding the pepper. A bunch of pepper corns fell into the meat mixture. I thought I spooned them all out but DD bit into a few---talk about spicey!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
 
We are going to my grandmother's for dinner tonight. She is making pork bbq, potato salad, and something else. I can't wait!! :)

OOH, Lindsay that sounds good to me too! Well since tonight is the first night for "Survivor", I planned ahead. A few weeks ago I had made meatballs ( double batch) and spaghetti. Just took a big container of meatballs and sauce out of the freezer, all I need to do this evening is cook the spaghetti, make a salad and garlic bread. I'll be ready to :happytv:
