Nancy - the ribs were a HUGE hit. As I expected, Kenny and DS loved them. However, they didn't finish them, so we will have the leftovers tomorrow night.

Today I am making crockpot cheesy chicken pasta and bread.

WFD at your house?

Kathy Thanks.
How are you feeling? It's mighty expensive going to the movies I think I'm going to start smuggling in drinks. I paid 3.00 for a bottle of water  My the way this movie was pretty good I my opinion they left out to much of the book.

I'm feeling much better, just in time to go to work.

Tonight we're having Becky's Thai Chicken Curry (YUM) with jasmine rice!!

Have a great day everyone!

I think I may make some lasagna tonight. We did end up having breakfast for dinner last night, and it was a hit with all except DS (but he doesn't eat anything anyway)

Kathy--your dinner sounds so good! Jasmine rice and curry--my favs!

Kathy- I am so glad to hear that you are feeling better!!!

I am going to go see my grandmother today and try to get phone calls done for my dad.

Dinner tonight is going to be Baked haddock in a lime dressing, with glazed carrots, and cous cous.

I am so out of the Harry Potter loop - I love the movies and can't get DH to go to the theater to see them, so I wait until they come out on DVD.:sad2:

I can't either. He'll pay for the tickets as quietly as is possible for him, but the popcorn and soda put him over the edge. The exception is when he takes Kady, he can't say "no" to her so he'll take her Red Robin, order onion rings so she can scrape the coating off and nibble on them, order another kids meal because she may think she may still be hungry...head to the theater and buy everything under the sun, and then sit through movies that every five year old girl loves :rotfl2:.

We are going to finish the salads I made Sunday tonight. I am not sure what I will serve with them, but everyone seems to have plans so I need to make it quick and easy.

Last night's pizza came out well. I did not have time to upload the pictures before work, I will do it tonight.

I am not sure wfd yet--but I think it will include broccoli. I got some broccoli at the farmer's market that I need to use up, but I can't decide what to do with it. I am kind of in the mood for soup, but I think DH might revolt. He's not a big "soup for supper" fan.

Hi All! I can't seem to catch up with all of you. If I miss something, please forgive me. Yesterday I was taking it easy since my arthritis in my ankle has bee acting up.

Today Andrew is getting his phase 1 braces and Tom and I are joining weight watchers this evening. Please keep my in your thoughts since A is such a big baby at the orthodontist. Poor thing thought he was getting rid of the side brackets that get sore once in a while, but nope, they are staying. The palate expander is going.

I hear you guys on the movies. We love the movies but cannot go without buying popcorn and soda. It turns into a $50+ night....:confused3 Last time I did bring in my big purse with candy in it but gosh...$3.00 for a small soda.

I am totally out of the HP loop...never watch the movies or read the books. Maybe we'll start and add them to the Netflix order.

I loved all the pics of all of you celebrating HP!!!

****************

We are having meatloaf, mashed potatoes and corn...I am going to try and make them all lower fat.

Kathy, glad you are feeling better!

Wendie, hang in there girl!

Have a great day all!

Lauren---It seems unless you are from Maine no one knows the word "dooryard" (all one word) and all find it very odd. It means yard in front of door (usually side or back) of house, but mostly said in place of driveway. Here is a good example(true story): We had business clients come from Minnesota here last year, and while at dinner I said to Kris "Your father's (which is pronounced Fathah's) dooryard was wicked muddy"....Well between the word dooryard and wicked, never minding my thick maine accent, they were busting a gut, lol. They still can't figure out the usage of the word dooryard!! (pronounced doahyahd)
A few others that they might have told you could be:
Ayuh- Yup. Sure. Okay. That's right. You Bet.
Cunnin'- Cute..........my dsil still can't figure this one out...when my memere first said it to my dn she was shocked until we told bonnie what it meant, lol
this is an easy one but my neighbor said to put it:
Apiece- An undetermined distance: He lives down the road apiece.

the nice thing about everyone is ....noone thinks they have the accent, it is everyone else that does, lol.

I say sure all the time and it bugs the heck out of Tom. :confused3 Oh Yeah, the Maniacs were sure making fun of my accent...they kept telling me to say "Park the Car"...of course it comes out like Pahk the Cahr...yup totally NYC here! :)

Lauren- Give Andrew a big hug from me. And one more for you, how is your ankle today?

I take snacks into the movies with me as well, I cn't spend so much on treats :scared1:

Years ago when I started dating Buddy we used to go to the movies all the time and we could do dinner and a movie too. Today I get a :headache: over the price of a movie and always think about the time when I could throw dinner in for the same price.

Lauren- Give Andrew a big hug from me. And one more for you, how is your ankle today?

It's a little better...I did the treadmill this AM so it could not have been taht bad right? ;) I should really go for a cortizone shot but they don't last too long...I am loaded with scar tissue...

Thank you so much for the hugs!!!

Lori--Ross is sooooo impressed with your pictures!!! Brownie points from him for Rick having the umbrella!!! (he had to tell me why that was a big deal, lol)
He said to me "Why can't we be related to people like that?!!?"........Out of the mouth of babes, lmao!!!
Awwwwwww! Thanks Ross! Ya'll can come be related to me whenever ya want! I started rereading HP7 last night so I can languish in it and enjoy it this time(instead of reading to figure it out before I hear it somewhere!):rotfl:

Last night was honey mustard pork tenderloin, roasted sweet potato chips, roasted parmesan asparagus, and cucumber salad. Rick's home a couple extra days this week.

Tonight I'm thinking Glynis' meatloaf muffins, mashed tater and leftover cuke salad.

I am going to go see my grandmother today and try to get phone calls done for my dad.

I hope things go well.

:lmao: I too remember the days when dinner and a movie were affordable!

Hugs to both of you!! Kyle had braces for 5 long years, but now when I see that beautiful smile, it was all worth it. Tell A to hang in there.:teeth:

It's Pioneer Day here in Utah, so we are having a typical Pioneer dinner. I'm making fried chicken, Dutch Oven potatoes, summer squash from our garden, and raspberry ice cream for dessert. In the meantime, the kids and I are making bread and "churning" our own butter. Actually, they are simply shaking a small amount of heavy cream in a baby food jar until it turns into butter. Then we'll serve it with the bread. Should be yummy! Luckily, it's only in the low 90's here, so it won't be too stifling once I turn the oven on!

I think it looked incredible and sounds amazing!!! Thanks for posting it!:thumbsup2 Did you use a boneless pork loin?

Kathy, it had a wierd name like ribeye loin or something like that. It was lean like the loin but thicker, rounder like a roast. I cut a deep slit in the middle & then went sideways with the knife to make a large pocket for the stuffing.

Have a great day all!

Lauren, Hope you feel better soon! I feel for A on the braces too. I wore them all through highschool & hated it! Poor kid! Good luck with the WW, it's worked for me for 5 years. When I start to pick up a few pounds I go back to watching our portion size & that works well for us. I don't want to give up any certain types of food, so WW works better for me.

Awwwwwww! Thanks Ross! Ya'll can come be related to me whenever ya want! I started rereading HP7 last night so I can languish in it and enjoy it this time(instead of reading to figure it out before I hear it somewhere!):rotfl:

Tonight I'm thinking Glynis' meatloaf muffins, mashed tater and leftover cuke salad.

Was that a diet meal, it sure sounds yummy!

Glynis, Your quote didn't come up with the rest, but that sure sounds fun & yummy! What a good mom you are! Let me know how that butter comes out, I'll have to let Alexis try that! :goodvibes

Tonight's dinner is going to be some kind of chicken curry. I have lots of eggplant, bought it at the grocery & the veg market forgetting I already had some, so I'll throw that in with the curry. I'll either do a red curry or use that nucpharm's Vindaloo sauce that was so yummy! I have cucumber for the raita so that will be good.

Hi everyone, just dropping in to share WFD. I'm cooking chicken wings right now. First timer. Smells good so that's a good sign. :) I'm going to have that, burritos, and make a salad & maybe some FF.

Hi Everyone! I've emerged from my Harry Potter cocoon. I finished the book last night, and Caili was so happy this morning to hear she was getting Mom back.

I loved the Harry Potter pics, Lori and Glynis. Lori, your costumes looked great.

Congratulations to Kyle, Kathy! What a great achievement, and that's wonderful to hear about the college scouts being there.

Lauren, I completely sympathize with Andrew about the braces. I wore them too. It's terrible at the time, but he will love his terrific smile when he is done.

Sorry, I know I am missing things...I forgot to do the multi-quote thing.

WFD tonight is grilled chicken, eggplant sticks, corn on the cob, and macaroni and cheese.

Hugs to both of you!! Kyle had braces for 5 long years, but now when I see that beautiful smile, it was all worth it. Tell A to hang in there.:teeth:

We are home and he did great...thanks for thinking of us. He did better than I expected. I guess he is getting used to going to the Ortho. He was so happy the expander came out.

It's Pioneer Day here in Utah

Happy Pioneer Day! Try and stay cool!

Hey Sheryl! I am feeling much better...thank you! As above, A did great today. I am so proud of him...yeah, I gave in a bought him those darn Pokemon cards when we were at the Pharmacy picking up more supplies...I can't say no to him half the time...:rolleyes1

I am really excited about WW...its a plan that is really do-able for us...

Thanks again!

Sounds like a wonderful day. Will you share the recipe for the potatoes?

YUMMO! What time is dinner?:rotfl2:

Hi Everyone! I've emerged from my Harry Potter cocoon.
Welcome back, we missed you!:flower3:

Sounds like a wonderful day. Will you share the recipe for the potatoes?

I'd be happy to share the recipe, but they are my husband's domain. He's the only one who uses our cast iron dutch ovens. I'll see if I can get him to tell me the recipe and I'll post it then.

Our plans are somewhat changed. My Leslie came down with a really high fever this morning, and I've spent the day dosing her with Tylenol/Motrin, and trying to keep her cool enough for the fever to come down. Just a couple of hours ago, she began throwing up, so I haven't had a chance to do anything but make the ice cream and the bread. The chicken is not fried, and the butter didn't get churned. Oh well. We'll see what Alan wants to do when he gets home. I may just send him to KFC for a bucket!
