Tonight it's leftover chicken provencal soup and ciabatta bread.

WFD at your house?

ETA: I have a question. I have a couple of Pink Lady apples I need to use. Would they be any good to stuff with brown sugar, oats, nuts, and cinnamon, then bake? I normally do that kind of thing with red delicious apples. I was wondering if these apples would work.

Thanks!

Lindsay, I just googled Pink Ladies and it says they are great for cooking...:goodvibes

Tonight, I am making can chicken, glazed carrots, stuffing...maybe potatoes.

Have a great day...I will check back later!!! :)

Thanks :) I love these apples as snacks, I've just never cooked with them.

Morning all! Sorry I've been MIA this weekend, but work took over. And dinner was nothing to write about anyway, pizza and grilled chicken. Tonight I have a craving for pad thai--so if I can make it to the grocery store, that's what DH and I will have. Kiddos will probably just have the noodles

Lauren-love the new pics. You were such a beautiful bride!:cutie:

first contact the other kid kicked Ross in the chest, and knocked the wind out of him......so Ross was out of breath and hurting the rest of the (quick) match. He has a bruise on his chest.

we LIVE on the parade route....(of the biggest 4th of july parade (and festivities) in the state.....yep our lil ole town) and we have a HUGE parade party............which I have to go buy for, and get ready for in 2 days!!!

I know it's the nature of the sport, but how do you not go crazy seeing your boy getting kicked? I'm sure he's been doing it for a while and you're used to it, but doesn't it hurt you? Being a baseball Mom this must sound stupid, huh?

You'd better get goin sista on that parade party! Sounds like a lot of fun, what are you serving besides margaritas????

Tonight is Nancy night!! We're having her Prosciutto stuffed Pork Loin, Parmesan potatoes and a green salad! I can't wait.:cool1:

Gretchen - The scallops were a big hit - excellent!!!

Glad y'all liked them.

No cooking for me tonight. DH and I are going out for a quick anniversary dinner. We are planning on a night away this weekend, but he wanted to go out to dinner tonight since it is our actual anniversary.

Last night I made Paula Deen's Chicken Boudine. It was so good. I hope the leftovers will still be good tomorrow.

Hey Glynis, I am making breakfast for dinner later this week. My husband looked at me really pitiful (I'm telling you, he looked like a little boy!), and said really sweetly, "Would you please make the blueberry muffins again?"

It was hilarious! I just had to tell you!

Thanks, Lindsay! I really needed a smile right about now. I'm planning on making a batch for the 4th of July, along with a batch of cherry muffins. (I'm using the same recipe, just subbing cherry pie filling and frozen cherries) I'll let you know how they turn out. We have to get to the parade route by 5:45 a.m. to get a spot in the shade, so I make breakfast the night before and we eat as we wait for the parade.

Please let me know how that turns out. I would LOVE a homemade cherry muffin!! :) :) :)

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY !!!!!

I saw that recipe in her cookbook, it sure sounds good!

OMG how do you stand it? You are one brave Mom to be able to handle your DS sport. I think I would be a basket case.

Now on to the party :faint:

I am back from my conference to DC this week - I had amazing meals there! It helps to be on an expense acct too, of course ;) AND with all the dang walking you do, I convinced myself I didn't have to hold back on calories.

Isn't that how it works?

That is how it works for me :thumbsup2

:rotfl:

I have not idea what I am serving tonight. We really should have leftovers from last night.

Thank you all so much for the prayers and good thoughts. You have no idea how comforted I felt all weekend.

Here's my story, in a nutshell:

DH and I were married 17 years ago. Tried for 7 years to have children. Told by at least 5 doctors that we would never be able to have any. Found an infertility doctor that helped us with a diagnosis, and through him we were able to have our 4 kids.

Almost 2 years ago, I had a gastric bypass. Lost 100 pounds in a year!!! Surprising side effect of that loss: I ovulate now!!!! DH felt like there was one more child for us, so we began trying after our DL trip. On Friday, I realized I was 2 weeks late, so I took a home pregnancy test. It came back positive!!! DH and I were thrilled, and were looking forward to my appointment with the doctor to confirm it. On Saturday, I began spotting and cramping, and eventually miscarried.

I'm ok with it (after some major bawling episodes on Saturday). I guess it just wasn't the right time. I know that without your prayers and good thoughts things would have been much worse for me! I really felt so surrounded by love all weekend. Thank you, my friends, for supporting me with your prayers through this. You are the best family!!!

Anyway, back on topic: Tonight's dinner will be the five flavor chicken from this thread, brown rice on the side with a green salad. It's too hot to use the oven today, so I'm letting the crockpot do the work for me!

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh, Glynis. I'm so sorry you are having to go through this. Please know we are all here for you.

Glynis - for you my dear. I am so sorry this happened. You do have the right attitude that this just wasn't meant to be this time. I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason but I know it's hard to understand why. You will be in my prayers.

Gretchen - I forgot to mention that the scallops were so "EASY"!! I saw Ina Garten do a Scallops Provencal dish last week that looked super easy too, gotta try that one!

Glad y'all liked them.

Happy Anniversary!!!!

Glynis I am so sorry you are going through this.  My ex and I went through infertility problems. I didn't ovulate. We were blessed with Alex. God is mysterious. We are here if you need us. We seem to be good criers if that what you need or we can give you a laugh too.

Glynis - I'll continue to keep you in my thoughts and prayers. I agree with Kathy, although we don't always understand God's purpose when things happen the way they do, He always has a plan. I'm sorry this is one of those things that is so hard to understand and accept. Hang in there, we will all be praying for you and thinking of you. :grouphug:

Kathy and Nancy - Thanks for the warm wishes today. It really is a happy anniversary for us. I am a very lucky woman.
