Gretchen, I am glad your nephew is doing better. It is sad about that long recovery time.

Sheryl, I hope you feel better.

DS has a baseball game at 6 so we will be eating on the run...I am making some sausage and peppers and eggplant parm...we can just eat whatever we choose. Of course, they will be low carb recipes.

Have a great day all!

Glynis, I forgot to mention a friend who suffered a long time with kidney stones, squeezes lemon into practically everything he drinks! He's read up on it & really feels like it helps. He did say it had to do with the acidity of the lemons.

Sheryl

Morning,

I won't go into for fear of sounding like a Wacko Hypochondriac!

That sounds right up the BeadPirate's Alley! (My homegirls, get it Bead Pirate's Alley ! )

Stick a little bit of that hardening shell a la "Bunny" Chocolate in there! Lori & Rick will be having a really good time!

Sheryl

Well my Wacko friend.....Shall we sit out on the front porch for awhile? We can chat up the tourists and give them some stories to tell everyone back home about the crazy people in NOLA!:rotfl2:

And the shop we have is just steps away from "Bead" Pirate's Alley!:rotfl2:

I like both those baskets but I'd think for $150 you'd get a whole bottle of Rosa Regale, not just a split! C'mon, I hate to sound like a drunk, but you gotta have more of the good stuff in there! The split in the big basket only has 2 glasses in it. If that were the case Rick would have to be happy with the crackers and cutting board cause the Banfi and the chocolates are mine! I love him and understand sharing but there are just some things in life that aren't gonna happen!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Last night I had a care package dinner- my friend Joey made homemade pasta with homemade sauce and brought me a bowl- It was loverly!

Tonight is leftover pork loin, sugar peas, and rice.

.

Girl you really crack me up!:rotfl2: So you want to sit out on the stoop & chat up the tourists, uh? :scared:  So now we know for sure, if it's a bit WACKO it's right up BeadPirate's Alley!:upsidedow pirate:

On the basket, I was thinking you could make up something yourself!

For a lot less than 150 bucks, you could really cover you in "Bunny Chocolate" & buy many bottles of Rosa! THEN, Y'all could really Pass a Good Time! ;)

Isn't that what you're supposed to do with the crazy relatives in the South?!? Sit em outside on the porch and let them chat up the Yankees?:dance3:

Not for this Southern girl, in our family, we try to hide all the crazy relatives:crazy: :jester: :charac4: in the attic!

Thanks. It's worth a try!!!

i am excited to have found this thread! i am subscribing but i will share some recipes too...

Welcome! Please join us and share recipes. We love new ones!

Gretchen- It's good to hear that your SIL is going to be able to join you, your trip is going to be even more special!

I made the Ritz chicken and Lindsay's "Kittentash" the night before last and it was so good! I made a 5 * noodle recipe from Recipezaar to go with it, but that was only 1* for us.

Last night we had egg sandwiches. I did not want to stop to cook and DH escapes when I am on a roll, so a sandwich way away from me was just right for him :thumbsup2.

We will have a late chicken dinner tonight. I am cleaning and my family is going to help my DS unload the truck he rented. They can't start until after 5 when they get out of work. It is going to be a moving weekend because they are going to use the truck to move DD things from her storage unit tomorrow and then on Saturday they are headed over to move my niece from her third floor apartment. Narrow stairwells and a massive living room set, so they need my DH because he got the thing in there so now he has to get it out.

Dinners the past couple of nights have not been too exciting because I've been getting home from work later than usual so I don't have a lot of time. Last night we just had roasted garlic chicken sausage sandwiches with sauteed onions and peppers, provolone and mustard.

Tonight we are having gnocchi stuffed with portobello mushrooms (they are already made, I just have to take them out of the freezer), that I am going to make a sauce for out of some aged gouda. Plus a big salad with greens, cukes, tomatoes, radishes, etc., and some olive oil ciabatta.

Can I get the Gouda sauce recipe, please?

Tonight I am making the crockpot cheesy chicken thingy. I will toss some gigli pasta to go in it. I can't wait. This is one of my favorite dishes. I am making garlic crescent rolls to go with it.

WFD at your house?

So glad you liked it!! I haven't made kitten-tash in a long time. Sorry for the corny-ness of all the Kitten stuff. It's totally my husband's doing. :lmao:

Morning ladies
didn't post yesterday as it was a crazy crazy day here, and we ended up having "whatever you can grab yourself that is somewhat healthy, and NO that doesn't mean fruit flavored gum drops" .....yeah it was a night like that...ugh!

Tonight is not much better as ds found out last night that he is going to be testing tonight for his green belt in Karate!!!! Whooo Hoooo!!!
So he has to have the same supper he has had all the other times he tests, which is cheesy scrambled eggs and toast. I think I made it the first time due to a time issue, and now he has apparently(sp) become superstitious(sp) to this....I don't know I just go along with it, I find it easier on things, lol!!

To early for me to think about spelling as I haven't had coffee yet, lol.

Glynis-the chicken sounds yummy and easy!!!
Nancy- good luck with all the moving this weekend!!!

Today's my b-day so dh and I are going out to lunch at our favorite Thai restaurant. We'll have our usual - spicy red chicken curry, spring rolls, salad with ginger dressing, clear soup, and Thai iced tea. It'll be cake for dinner! :cool1:

TGIF all! Hoping DH will want to go out tonight since he's off work today, and I have to work all weekend. but we'll see. Dinner last night was really yummy. I found a "Spicy Peanut Bake" spice mix from Taste of Thai at the store and it was oh, so good. It's kinda like Thai shake and bake--but much yummier. It was sweet and spicy, kinda like me!;)

Morning Y'all!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LUCAS!!!!

Last night I made big spinach salads. I put in the leftover chicken, onions & mushrooms I had grilled earlier in the week. Then at the last minute (because I had also had a salad for lunch & was bored with it) decided to make a warm bacon dressing for the salad. Yummy, but not light at all & my tummy paid for it later on.

I'll have Alexis this evening, her Mom has a work function so we might head to our church & her school fair tonight. That means lots of yummy fried seafood & funnel cakes! Boy, am I going to be sorry for that!

Alexis will be singing with her class at the fair tomorrow, so guess where I'll be! Probably won't be cooking all weekend!

Have a great Friday!

:bday: party: :bday: Happy Birthday Lucas!

It is pouring here...the thunder and lightening was so bad last night that we woke up at 1:30 and I finally fell asleep at 4:30...yeah! and to top it off, I ran out of coffee! Yeah me!

I have boneless pork chops out...have no idea how to make them...I am going to go through the recipes here.

Have a great day all!

ETA: I am going to make Sephanie's Pork Chops with Hot and Sweet Peppers.

Happy Birthday Lucas! You are haveing one of my favorites dinners..:cake:..so have a piece for me!

Lindsay- No need to apologize for the name of you dish, my family is used to the WFD names for dinner. It would not be the same if it was called just plain succotash.

Lauren- we had heavy weather here as well and the storms you just had are headed our way. What a lousy day! For the pork chops, my vote is for the fried pork chops. Ever time I cook them another way I get a big thumbs down from my family.

Sheryl- I love funnel cakes! Have a great time with Alexis!

The Hat- :cheer2:for your DS. Let us know how he does today.

We had shake and Bake chicken last night. I doctored up the crumb mix and added some melted butter on top. It was so good. We had a farfalle pasta with a garlicky sauce and broccoli, corn as a veggie. I also had a green salad that only my DS touched :confused3.

Tonight we are having the leftove chicken but I'm not sure what i am doing with it. I am also making chicken soup, I have the chicken poaching now.

Does anyone know what teh pearl pasta is in chickarina soup? I like it and cannot find it, so I bought Israeli couscous. I'm not sure if it will hold it's shape though.

Happy Birthday lucas!!!

Sheryl - who's fair is this weekend?

No cooking for me tonight - it's fried green tomato night!! In fact I probably won't be cooking all weekend - DH is going to FINALLY wrap up the kitchen renovations that we started after Katrina. It's a good thing because the freezer has more room in it every day.

It was sweet and spicy, kinda like me!;)

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I wanted to let you know we have two lurkers here. My DD and DDIL check everyday to see what we are having for dinner. They also live to torment my DH so they now have him convinced that there is a sandwich out there somewhere named just for him. His name is Charles, so "Charlie the Tuna" plays into it. I think that he is more comfortable with the Po boys though :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:. Anyway, they are checking in and using anything here to make him wonder if he has no food secrets, and of course I tell him there are no secrets here. When they were talking about magic shell on his ice cream I thought I was going to choke :rolleyes1
