Happy Birthday lucas!!!​

No cooking for me tonight - it's fried green tomato night!! In fact I probably won't be cooking all weekend - DH is going to FINALLY wrap up the kitchen renovations that we started after Katrina. It's a good thing because the freezer has more room in it every day.

I don't know whether to laugh or cheer. Hey, it's Friday so I think I'll do both...... Have a great weekend in your brand new kitchen, Kathy!

Kathy, it's Visitation's in Marrero. Y'all should come out, if you're not heading to Jazz Fest. We're going to have some pretty good bands & the Dad's Club will be out there with thier famous Crawfish Pirogue! They usually have a booth at Gretna Fest too! If you haven't had it, I'll bet it even rivals your friend green tomatoes! It's Fried Eggplant with a creamy Crawfish Sauce on top! I'll post a link for more info for you on the Nola Board.

Question for you ladies in New Orleans. I few years back I had a stuffed eggplant and the best hush puppies. I remember they both had crawfish in them. I'm hoping it's a famous regional recipe. Would you happen to have a recipe for an appreciative yankee?

No clue what is for dinner in my house tonight? I'll have to go a browse the recipes on the first page.

Tomorrow I'm meeting up with some of my area DISer's for a bowling meet should be lots of fun.

Last night we had broiled garlic bbq salmon, broccoli and pasta shells with white cheddar sauce.

I'm not sure what we're having tonight. I have to get to the store or we won't have anything.

Ed's in the bedroom working with the physical therapist... He's getting a bunch of new exercises to do do because he's getting stronger.
It's cold and rainy and I'm making comfort food.. Turkey, mashed potatoes stuffinf etc.

They also live to torment my DH so they now have him convinced that there is a sandwich out there somewhere named just for him. His name is Charles, so "Charlie the Tuna" plays into it. I think that he is more comfortable with the Po boys though . Anyway, they are checking in and using anything here to make him wonder if he has no food secrets, and of course I tell him there are no secrets here. When they were talking about magic shell on his ice cream I thought I was going to choke

I now have to wipe the Diet Coke off the computer screen. Sorry to corrupt the innocents!

Last night was dinner on the run as we had baseball, soccer and scouts. I will be in Big Bear this weekend scrapbooking with girlfriends so the boys are on their own

The weather is miserable here today, so I am making cheddar ale soup. I've made it before, but it has never been quite right, so I am tweaking it again tonight. If it comes out good, I'll post the recipe.

The kids won't eat the soup, so they'll have ravioli.

Sides are salad and ciabatta rolls I found in the store today that were still warm when I bought them.

Dinner tonight was good comfort food on a rainy day. I intended to use the leftover chicken for chicken smothered in gravy over noodles, but Buddy came home early and hit the leftovers...can you say sandwiches????? So I poached more and added it to what I had, gosh was it good! Brocolli and green salad for sides. Pineapple upside down cake for dessert.

OT: Wedding Vent...how long do you think it will take DF to give me the addresses (for the invites) for the people he works with...I have only been asking for 2 weeks now. He better get them to me before he leaves for France next week or he'll be writing the darn things out himself! OK, I feel better I vented...

I am getting really excited...in the next couple weeks I can make my ADRs for my upcoming DW trip! Kathy, that thread on Le Cellier is a hoot!!!

Lauren- We just got rain- a lot of rain- but not the storms that you got, so I consider us in CT lucky.

I feel your pain about address issues! Buddy had a list a long list and was supposed to get addresses for those he worked with. I finally called the office manager and she sent me the addresses.

Now don't you stop rambling because then I am going to feel really lonely in the Chatty Cathy group.

No cooking for me tonight! We are taking our neighbors out to dinner this evening. I don't know where, but I hope I see them before it is too late to get ressies somewhere.

They cooked for my family after my Mom passed on and I cannot tell you how much I appreciated their kindness. You have all heard about my issues in the kitchen so my family was grateful as well.

We went to the fair, ate lots of good New Orleans food, spent lots of money on kiddy games to keep Alexis happy! And we'll be back doing it again today!

We are going to the mall today, so it'll be Food Court fare for us. Tomorrow we are having a meatloaf that the kids love (it's slightly sweet), macaroni and cheese, and brussel sprouts. Now, I've never cooked brussel sprouts in my life, so can someone please tell me what to do with them? Thanks!
