Glynis Try drinking lemonade. There's something in the lemonade that helps you get rid of kidney stones. I learned this after my bout with them. Hope the pain passes quickly. Toradol and vidodin were by best friends.:thumbsup2

Today I'm not cooking my son is with his dad, I'll probably have Nacho's with all the stuff I like on them.:thumbsup2

Lemonade, huh? Interesting! Would sugar free work, do you think? That's the only kind I can drink! Thanks for the tip!

I don't think it's the sugar or lack of it that works. It's the acid. I drank it like I was dying, I had trouble drinking all that water and was looking for taste. Who knew I would actually be doing something good too

Glynis- I hope you feel better soon. Both my DH sis and dad both had kidney stones very recently. Yikes!

Dinner will be very easy tonight. One of the parents on our baseball team owns a pizza restaurant and he is bringing dinner to the game tonight for the whole team, familes included. The team has had a rough go of it lately and he throught the treat would be a nice pick me up for everyone!

Welcome!! We are excited you found us too!! We love new recipes, share often!!!

Glynis- I talked to my dad today and he has suffered from kidney stones in the past, and I asked him what it was that the dr's said to drink that helped him so much. it was Apple Juice, due to the acid levels in it, the same thing as the lemonade. He said the SF didn't matter.

Good stuff to know! Thanks so much!

That is wonderful, she'll get to see her baby enjoy it all!!!!! How is your nephew?

He is doing much better although we expect him to be in the hospital for at least the next week or so. The doctor said he could return to "light duty" (no such thing in his job) in two months, but it would be 8 months before he would be completely healed and could return to welding. We are hoping he is going to learn something from this as it has been quite painful and looks like it is going to be expensive as well. Thanks for asking.

Welcome!!

My sad frozen lasagna was terrible. I hadn't had one in quite some time and I had forgotten just how horrible it is, but as DH just said (reading over my shoulder), "But we're going to Disney", so we are going to overlook the bad meals between now and Friday.

I have no idea what we are doing for dinner tomorrow. Maybe take out, maybe something quick. I guess I'll decide tomorrow.

Gretchen

We are having Subway for dinner tonight. My BIL will be here for dinner tomorrow and what I was planning on making tonight would have enough leftovers for the 3 of us.

WFD at your house?

Good morning everyone!

No cooking for me tonight - I took the stuffed bell peppers that I did a few weeks ago out of the freezer and will whip up some mac & cheese to go with it.

Have a great day!!

I found a Thai Spicy Peanut bake spice mix at the store yesterday, so we're gonna have that and some Thai noodles as a side.

Morning,

I have no idea WFD? I'm not feeling great this morning, almost every ailment I have has decided to flair up today. I won't go into for fear of sounding like a Wacko Hypochondriac! So, dinner will probably be something Easy or takeout.

I'll know for sure tomorrow, but it looks like DSil is going with us on Friday!

Gretchen, I really hope she can go, it will be so much more fun for all of you! It sounds like it's going to be a tough year for your nephew, which is sad, but I would hope will keep him from doing that again!

Lauren, that's funny but also a really nice basket!

That sounds right up the BeadPirate's Alley! (My homegirls, get it Bead Pirate's Alley ! )

Stick a little bit of that hardening shell a la "Bunny" Chocolate in there! Lori & Rick will be having a really good time!

Morning, everyone! Dinner last night was really good! Simple, too! Here's the recipe:

Pepper Jack Chicken

4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
4 slices Pepper Jack Cheese (You could really use any kind of cheese you want)
Barbecue Sauce

Cut a slit in each chicken breast. Fill with cheese. Secure with soaked toothpicks. Brush with barbecue sauce. Grill or broil chicken for 6-8 minutes per side, or until juices run clear. Baste, frequently, with barbecue sauce.

I did season my chicken with salt and pepper before brushing with barbecue sauce. Everyone liked it! I used pepper jack for DH and me, and regular colby jack for the kids. Everyone agreed it was a nice, simple meal! The kids didn't fight me on eating it, and there weren't any leftovers!

Dinner tonight will be a Tomato Spinach Pasta Toss. I found the recipe in an old Kraft magazine, and it looks good. Surprisingly, I have all the ingredients, so it was a no brainer for me! It looks relatively simple, too, and since I've got 2 concerts to go to tonight, that will fit the bill nicely.
