I have a pork loin in the freezer and I've never made one before (I got brave and bought one on sale last week, LOL) ~ does anyone have a favorite recipe for this? TIA! :)

You should try the Chinese BBQ Pork Tenderloin recipe on page 173. It is very yummy. We serve it with rice and make some extra sauce to put on the rice.

Last night's dinner was super yummy....talk about comfort food. I made THE HAT's hamburger w/gravy. Of course, I can never resist adding something so I threw in a can of golden mushroom soup. I always add that whenever I make brown gravy. We had rice and broccoli on the side. Excellent and so easy. That got added into my rotation!

Still don't know what we're having tonight. If I was smart, I would have put something in the crockpot this morning but I wasn't thinking that far ahead. DD7 is home again from school today and she's upset because she had perfect attendance until today. She made it until 10am roll call yesterday but since she still had fever this morning, I didn't think it was fair to the teacher and the other students to send her in this morning even with all of her begging! We couldn't get an appt with the doctor until this afternoon so hopefully they'll give her something to make her feel better. I really don't think it's the flu since she had the flu shot a couple of months ago but I haven't been able to get her fever to break even alternating tylenol and motrin. Enough of that.......I still need to figure out what DH and the other kids are going to have for dinner.

We're having that tomorrow. I forgot to mention, when I posted the recipe, that the hoisin sauce makes the whole recipe, so make sure you get one you know you like. I ran out of the kind I usually get (KA.ME) and I bought some other kind because that was all Walmart had. It was horrible. Luckily I tasted the sauce before I put it on the tenderloin.

Kathy- I have mine home and he has thrown a monkey wrench into all of my day. Hope your guy is not as sick when he is sick;).

Julie- Hope that your little one gets better fast! Perfect attendance is huge at that age!

Thanks Nancy but we just got back from the doctor and she has strep! Talk about messing up her perfect attendance! The doctor says she can't go back to school until Friday at the earliest. Luckily, my mom is off tomorrow so DD7 will be spending the day with grandma.

Looks like we'll be having something easy for dinner....BBQ sausage, macaroni & cheese and baked beans.

Julie, sorry your DD has strep. Although a day with grandma might be wonderful medicine for a 7 year old. I'm sure her day will be filled with ice cream.

I'm sorry about everyone else's sick/yucky feeling children too. However, I am especially sorry for Kathy and Nancy, I'd much rather have a sick child than a sick husband. Hope everyone gets better soon.

Amen to that!::yes:: I did Glynis' super easy skillet chicken, while he laid on the couch and watched and he said "gee I thought you spent hours in the kitchen every day".:sad2: Normally I do, but tonight was super quick and easy.

Glynis - I must say it was so quick and so YUMMY!!!!!! It's definitely a keeper here.:thumbsup2

nothing spectacular here....burgers, mac & cheese and salad!

That is Ds favorite meal.....He said if he has to ever have a last meal that would be it......wonder why he thinks he might need a last meal?:confused3 I wonder what he did that he thinks I might kill him for?

Glad you liked it! I was so surprised at the flavor for something that's literally thrown together. It's a keeper here, as well!

It's My 3-Year Wedding Anniversary!!!! :love::love::love::love:

Sorry!! Just had to get that out of my system. I'm so excited (and so is my Pooh)!!

Today we are going to T.G.I. Friday's. We LOVE the Jack Daniel's flat iron steaks. We only go and eat them a few times a year to keep them special :) When we come home, we are going to call WDW and make our November reservations, watch the planning video, and indulge with a Toll House ice cream cookie, another anniversary tradition.

It's going to be a sweet day (literally)!!!!

Happy Anniversary Lindsay! I wish you and your husband all the best!

Julie, so sorry that you daughter is sick, hope she starts feeling better soon.

Last night's spice rubbed pork chops were a hit...the rub can be used on chicken as well. I will post the recipe later.

I also made diet soda cupcakes. They are 1 point on weight watchers. They are really good!!!

Tonight I am making another WW recipe. General Tsao's Chicken. I never made this before but it looks good. WIth rice and broccoli.

Have a great day all!

Happy Anniversary Lindsay!

Tonight I'm trying OKWMom's Brown Sugar Pork Chops with au gratin potatoes and green beans. Can't wait!!

Happy Anniversary, Lindsay! Sounds like you have a great day planned. Enjoy!

TigerKat and Mermaid02, let us know how you like the pork chops. I want to try them, too.

Tonight we are having buttered egg noodles and on the side fresh chopped tomatoes that I top with olive oil, coarse salt/pepper then just pop them in oven for 3 minutes (I saw Rachael Ray do this - so simple). On the plate, their juices mix in with the noodles and it is delish.

Morning all! Going to try Glynis's Peached Stuffed Chicken tonight--need to defrost that chicken!

Lindsay--Happy Anniversary! What a sweet day you have planned!

Julie--Hope your daughter get well soon--I had strep last week, not fun!

Had to laugh when I read the last few posts.

OKWMom's brown sugar pork chops were on the menu for us last night (along with green beans & my 1st attempt at homemade au gratin potatoes)! We normally don't have dessert, but last night we indulged in a fruit salad of fresh LA strawberries, bananas & blueberries.

I did take some liberty with the recipe by grilling the chops on the pit instead of stove-top, so no sauce. Weather was too gorgeous and the chops were yummy!

Tonight's menu - planned leftovers. Soccer practice for DS, so no real time to cook.

Happy Anniversary, Lindsay! I hope you have the best day ever!!! Enjoy your traditions! Those are the things that keep your marriage alive! Although, from what I read from your posts, your marriage is as healthy as they come! Congratulations!

Dinner for us tonight will be taco pizza. I didn't get to make the cake last night, as my kids decided to pass their colds and sore throats to me! I just didn't feel like spending too much time in the kitchen. So, I'll do it tonight.

Happy Father's Day!!

I was going to cook for my dad today but that got postponed. He is teetering on a divorce right now and trying to work on his marriage. So I totally understood when he cancelled.

So tonight I am making cheesy crockpot chicken. Here's the recipe:

3 whole boneless chicken breasts
2 cans cream chicken soup
1 can cheddar cheese soup

Remove all fat and skin from chicken; rinse and pat dry, sprinkle with salt, pepper and garlic powder. Put in crock-pot and add the three soups straight from the cans. Cook on low all day (at least 8 hrs). Do not lift the lid. Serve over rice or noodles.

WFD at your house?

I am trying this out tonight. Ive been a lurker on this thread for some time and always look here for new meal ideas. I put my chicken on earlier this morning and cant wait to see how it turns out tonight-- smells so good!!

Thanks!!
