Tonight's pork tenderloin with asian marinade/gravy was awesome. If you like the flavors of soy sauce, hoisin sauce, garlic you will love this. It's quick and supereasy. If anyone's interested I'd be happy to share! It can also be done with pork chops.(in fact that's what the recipe calls for) :thumbsup2

Share, share, share!!! I'm interested!!!!!

Here it is:

Asian Marinated Pork Chops/Tenderloin

5 Tbsp soy sauce
2 Tbsp hoisin sauce
2 crushed garlic cloves
1 Tbsp honey
1 Tbsp sugar
4 center cut pork chops or 1 tenderloin

Preheat the broiler or grill. In a baking dish, stir together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, garlic, honey and sugar. Put pork in the dish and marinate for at least one hour (or up to 24 hrs) turning occasionally.

Remove pork from marinade and broil or grill until internal temp is 170 degrees, turning once. Put marinade into saucepan and bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes. If using a tenderloin let it rest 15 - 20 minutes before carving.

I double the marinade recipe amounts for more sauce to put over rice or noodles. YUMMO!

Tonight is spaghetti with brocolli in my DH's amazing garlic, olive oil and parm cheese sauce. Can't wait.

Glynnis, I know how you feel about the whole wheat buns. While my kids are used to whole wheat bread, they get so mad when I make whole wheat pasta. :cool1:

I'm with you on the whole wheat pasta. we eat a lot of whole grains in my home, Dh choking them all down disguised in muffins and on his sandwiches, but the pasta gets a hands down whenever I try to serve it. I don't care how much stuff I put on it, they won't eat it.

I made meatballs yesterday for my Mom, and today I will make sauce for her and my DS who stays with her. He stayed there after I married so she is not alone, and now she can't stand long enough to cook so my sister and I get meals over to her and to my aunt. My family will have leftovers tonite, there is plenty of ham and chicken for hot sandwiches and a salad.

Tonight is jumbo mexican stuffed pasta shells (family favorite), refried beans and DS's favorite mexican salad!!

I posted the mexican shells recipe on Lindsay's cookbook thread, but if anyone's interested I'd be happy to post it here. It's quick and yummy!

Have a great day everyone!!

Morning all! :sunny:

Tigerkat--thanks for sharing that recipe, sounds like something I would really like!!!

Tonight, hmmm, not sure yet--Maybe some spaghetti with meat sauce. I'm really dragging today, so we'll see

I spent the evening in the emergency room with my mother last night so we will have Mexican tonight. Never got to dinner last night- had hospital cafeteria food!

Been there, done that. How is your Mom?

I haven't talked to her this morning- they sent her home at about 10 pm last night. She has some nasty respiratory thing going on. She had a Solumedrol IV and 5 Nebulizer treatments in 5 hours. I thought they should keep her, but she was determined to go home.

we are having baked ziti - the best part is that it is already made and just needs to go into the oven.

I'll keep her in my prayers!

Thanks. I just talked to her and she's headed to work  But she does work at the hospital so I guess it's not as bad as it sounds.

I LOVE whole wheat pasta!! I had GB surgery last year and have spent this year losing 100 pounds. Now, I'm down to my ideal weight and can start adding things back to my diet. I love pasta, but the regular doesn't sit well with my any more. However, the WW pasta does! I can eat about 1/3 Cup of pasta and be full. It's wonderful! I'm a huge fan of whole wheat now!

Hmmm, my kids love the whole wheat pasta. I wonder why? I like the texture. It's a lot nuttier. Maybe that's why my kids like it.

What is your mexican salad? That sounds really good!

Tonight we are having creamy pumpkin pasta (from pg 156 of this thread). I don't know how my kids will like it, but DH and I are very excited. Of course, I will be using whole wheat pasta :teeth: . I'm also grilling some chicken to go along with it for some protein. I KNOW the kids will eat that. For dessert, leftover birthday cake and ice cream.

It's a rainy, chilly day here, so the pasta is sounding very warm and comforting to me!

Lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, and shredded cheese. I buy a can of "ranch style beans", drain the liquid and use that as the base for the dressing, adding sour cream to thicken it. You can then put the beans in the salad, but my family doesn't like beans in a salad. After tossing the salad with the dressing, top with crushed bbq fritos. DS could eat this all day.
