Disney rash doesn't sound like a marketable side effect
Hopefully it's just the lotion?

Wait a minuteā¦. I had that happen to me at Aulani and WDW and though it might be my sunscreenā¦.. now you have me wonderingā¦.. Itās so crazy. Itās kind of like hives. Itās no fun. So Iām taking Benadryl and I am even more tired than normal after these park days.
Itās a mystery that I really wish I knew the answer to. We have a trip back here in August and Iām for sure bringing my own stuff in hopes that it doesnāt happen again. I had mentioned this in a thread here in DIS awhile back and some people were adamant that itās a heat rash. I donāt think thatās it. I get it on the sides of my neck and around my collar bone. Iād think heat rash would be where there is friction.Wait a minuteā¦. I had that happen to me at Aulani and WDW and though it might be my sunscreenā¦.. now you have me wonderingā¦.

Depending on where it is, maybe itās āexercise-induced vasculitisā also known as Disney rash - search the forums for past discussions.Wait a minuteā¦. I had that happen to me at Aulani and WDW and though it might be my sunscreenā¦.. now you have me wonderingā¦.

The thing is that Iāve never had it happen at Disneyland or any other time when exercising inside or outsideā¦. Iām going to try buying my own soap for my next trip to see what happensā¦.Depending on where it is, maybe itās āexercise-induced vasculitisā also known as Disney rash - search the forums for past discussions.

If you use the lotion too, bring your own. Iāve brought my own shampoo and body wash for years when traveling but used whatever lotion a hotel provided. It took several visits for me to realize it wasnāt sun and wind but H2O lotion that dried and irritated my hands so much when I was at WDW.The thing is that Iāve never had it happen at Disneyland or any other time when exercising inside or outsideā¦. Same. Well it used to happen to me at Disneyland but that was back before 2021. Thatās why I was thinking hmmm maybe itās the h20.The thing is that Iāve never had it happen at Disneyland or any other time when exercising inside or outsideā¦. I can't believe I still haven't seen those rooms. I do such short stays and I am always so busy. Do you access them from the ground floor of the tower? I haven't ever gone beyond the elevators, but I see people walking back there sometimes.I spent a fantastic five nights in a Garden studio last week (is it wrong that I think I always want to only stay in the Garden building?) and was disappointed to see that they didnāt have the live music by the DVC pool during the day like they did last September. However, painful transient tax bill aside, VDH remains one of my absolute favourite DVC resorts of all time. And the walk still doesnāt seem bad, even at 1:30am after Star Wars Nite![]()
The two story, detached from the tower, back of the palette pool area. There are stairs out back too. (Or can use tower elevators). Two gas bbqās back there as well.I can't believe I still haven't seen those rooms. I do such short stays and I am always so busy. Do you access them from the ground floor of the tower? I always use the little path that goes beside the tower and then stairs up and down. Never even need to enter the towerI can't believe I still haven't seen those rooms. I know they have music over at Trader Samāsā¦. the whole vibe of Disneyland Hotel isnāt really a heavy bass vibeā¦.So sometimes they have live music at the pool? Is that pretty loud then?
At other times, do they have recorded music playing? Is it loud? I guess I should try to find some youtube videos or something.
I am very sensitive to certain kinds of sounds and live/loud music is definitely one of them. Especially if there's any bass.
To be specific, I *think* that the live music might actually be coming from somewhere in the VDH pool bar area. They only had it on Sunday this time, and I think only after 4pm. It runs the gamut, from 50s doowop to reggae to Greenday covers. I guess union musicians have to work! Itās audible from the pool deck and the garden studio patios, but I canāt see any way that youād be able to hear it from the tower. So sometimes they have live music at the pool? There are very few 1BRs and even fewer declared so that makes sense. We've liked the studios, thoughI am trying to book a one bedroom for January and seems like theyre all gone... how are the deluxe studios and duo studios?
Is garden view the best view type? Any other tips? TIA![]()
