Disney rash doesn't sound like a marketable side effect
Hopefully it's just the lotion?

Wait a minute…. I had that happen to me at Aulani and WDW and though it might be my sunscreen….. now you have me wondering….. It’s so crazy. It’s kind of like hives. It’s no fun. So I’m taking Benadryl and I am even more tired than normal after these park days.
It’s a mystery that I really wish I knew the answer to. We have a trip back here in August and I’m for sure bringing my own stuff in hopes that it doesn’t happen again. I had mentioned this in a thread here in DIS awhile back and some people were adamant that it’s a heat rash. I don’t think that’s it. I get it on the sides of my neck and around my collar bone. I’d think heat rash would be where there is friction.Wait a minute…. I had that happen to me at Aulani and WDW and though it might be my sunscreen….. now you have me wondering….

Depending on where it is, maybe it’s “exercise-induced vasculitis” also known as Disney rash - search the forums for past discussions.Wait a minute…. I had that happen to me at Aulani and WDW and though it might be my sunscreen….. now you have me wondering….

The thing is that I’ve never had it happen at Disneyland or any other time when exercising inside or outside…. I’m going to try buying my own soap for my next trip to see what happens….Depending on where it is, maybe it’s “exercise-induced vasculitis” also known as Disney rash - search the forums for past discussions.

If you use the lotion too, bring your own. I’ve brought my own shampoo and body wash for years when traveling but used whatever lotion a hotel provided. It took several visits for me to realize it wasn’t sun and wind but H2O lotion that dried and irritated my hands so much when I was at WDW.The thing is that I’ve never had it happen at Disneyland or any other time when exercising inside or outside…. Same. Well it used to happen to me at Disneyland but that was back before 2021. That’s why I was thinking hmmm maybe it’s the h20.The thing is that I’ve never had it happen at Disneyland or any other time when exercising inside or outside…. I can't believe I still haven't seen those rooms. I do such short stays and I am always so busy. Do you access them from the ground floor of the tower? I haven't ever gone beyond the elevators, but I see people walking back there sometimes.I spent a fantastic five nights in a Garden studio last week (is it wrong that I think I always want to only stay in the Garden building?) and was disappointed to see that they didn’t have the live music by the DVC pool during the day like they did last September. However, painful transient tax bill aside, VDH remains one of my absolute favourite DVC resorts of all time. And the walk still doesn’t seem bad, even at 1:30am after Star Wars Nite![]()
The two story, detached from the tower, back of the palette pool area. There are stairs out back too. (Or can use tower elevators). Two gas bbq’s back there as well.I can't believe I still haven't seen those rooms. I do such short stays and I am always so busy. Do you access them from the ground floor of the tower? I always use the little path that goes beside the tower and then stairs up and down. Never even need to enter the towerI can't believe I still haven't seen those rooms. I know they have music over at Trader Sam’s…. the whole vibe of Disneyland Hotel isn’t really a heavy bass vibe….So sometimes they have live music at the pool? Is that pretty loud then?
At other times, do they have recorded music playing? Is it loud? I guess I should try to find some youtube videos or something.
I am very sensitive to certain kinds of sounds and live/loud music is definitely one of them. Especially if there's any bass.
To be specific, I *think* that the live music might actually be coming from somewhere in the VDH pool bar area. They only had it on Sunday this time, and I think only after 4pm. It runs the gamut, from 50s doowop to reggae to Greenday covers. I guess union musicians have to work! It’s audible from the pool deck and the garden studio patios, but I can’t see any way that you’d be able to hear it from the tower. So sometimes they have live music at the pool? There are very few 1BRs and even fewer declared so that makes sense. We've liked the studios, thoughI am trying to book a one bedroom for January and seems like theyre all gone... how are the deluxe studios and duo studios?
Is garden view the best view type? Any other tips? TIA![]()
