FYI we’re headed back to VDH Jan 5-9. Will be our second trip. Bringing our early 20 something daughters who will be on university break. First trip last year was sans kiddos…and it was great!
We're 18 days away - excited! 1 night in a Garden Duo (might as well burn the arrival night on few points) and 3 nights in a Grand Villa. Oogie Boogie perfection :-)

Wow, nice! Are you hosting a lot of folks or just splurging on yourselves to experience the beautiful grand villas?

What’s the better move on 160ish points?

1) Fixed Week that you might not ever use
2) Small contracts for higher resale residual with extra $400 closing cost per contract
3) Going up to 200 for more incentives
4) Other

Hard one. I kind of did all 3 in one.

Hard one. I kind of did all 3 in one. FW at 138 points, 2nd contract of 62 points to bring to 200 points. If I sell the 62 point I would make a profit right now, but then it puts me below 150 direct points. I will cross that bridge in the future. Maybe one day I can snag 25-50 points direct at VGC and then sell my small VDH.

138 points $379 closing cost
62 points $359 closing cost
Oh interesting….. so one fixed week and one top up.

Well…I’m not up on the current offering but for what it’s worth last year we did #2: 110 pts and 65 pts for a total of 175.

I’d still do that again today. I’m not good at a FW. We don’t have a regular pattern. I stopped at the next largest incentive level as getting to 200 was only a $1 savings per point. Also we have 440 other points at WDW resorts, so didn’t need +25 points.

Down the road, I’d sell my 65 if needing to trim back or best case bank a profit. But we will see. Primary reason was to stay at Disneyland VDH.
