"The Official 'True Blood' Vampire Thread" ...spoilers included.

Oh, and who is the "authority" that the magister and Russell keep talking about?

Jessica Tuck shows up next week according to the previews. I don't know her character name. She was that blonde snooty woman who is always on TV representing vamps, and gave Godric such a hard time. She mentioned with him that she could make trouble with the "authority." (I don't think she called it that back then, but she's got some high up power & connections.)

:
Are we up to that book yet? Remember, in True Blood, it's only been a few months. Even though it's 3 seasons for us.

So far the seasons are moving in the same time frame as the books.

Season 1 - Dead Until Dark - Sookie and Bill meet and begin dating. Rene is the serial killer.

Season 2- Book 2- Living Dead in Dallas - Sookie goes to Dallas to work for Eric by reading people's minds.

Season 3 - Book 3 - Club Dead. Bill goes to Lorena in Mississippi and she tortures him. We meet Russell, Alcide, Debbie Pelt. Club Dead is a version of Lou Pine's in the series.

I hope Season 4 goes along with Book 4 because I love amnesiac Eric.

Found her name. It is Nan Flanagan and she represents the Vampire League of America.

Haha, they have a "website" and here is a letter addressed to the "public" from Nan.

We lost 3 characters last night: Lorena, Cooter and the Magister -- I was a little surprised!

I figure the killing of the magister is going to put Eric in tight with the King and Queen.

I was pleased that last night did follow the books a bit, but I do like a surprise. ;) I'm thinking Sookie will continue and kick Bill to the curb. I mean when you come to in a hospital and your first reaction is to scream bloody murder when you see your "true love," well ..... :rotfl2:

So I am going to assume that Bill is going to want to drink from Sookie and she will have to keep him away from her? I guess that is the angle I see coming. Should be interesting.

I hope she has more powers revealed to her so we can see another side of Sookie. That would be cool.

As far as the Jason storyline, not getting it.

And Sam's storyline is a little on the twisted side.

I would like to see more Layfette.

I'm really bored with the Jason storyline. I just don't get it. They better reveal more on that soon.

Other than that, I really enjoyed the episode. Oh and I loved the postmortem last night! I hope Franklin makes an appearance next week. I'm pretty sure he isn't dead because he didn't spout gooey blood everywhere. So glad that Eric still had his blue sweater on. So I guess Sookie's cousin told him that Sookie is a fairy?

Is it just me or is this season is getting waaaaaaaaaaaaay too gorey. I really love True Blood, but they need to put back more of the romance and other cool mystical things they had. Just relying on blood and gore isn't going to do it for me. I like Alcide tho, hope they make his character a little more interesting and more romance happening with Sookie with Alcide, Bill and Eric, that would be interesting. At least some jealousy stuff happening. I like the romance in all the characters on the show and some of the cooler plots, not just lets see how gorey we can make this. I pray they don't go down that path. True Blood was so much more than that.

If she stays with Bill, I think that will be the end of my interest in the show. There are some changes that should not be made.
Like Eric in the shower.:love::love:

What message would it send to young girls who watch this show, or to abusive men that do... when your BF tries to kill you, because you love him, you go back to him? I certainly hope not! Sookie is supposed to be with Eric... not Bill.

I always thought that Claudine was a magnificiently beautiful black woman. Never pictured her as a pretty, white, British woman. Since there are different types of fairies, I wonder where they are going with Sookie. Is she a fairy of the light or of the water? They sure didn't let us know if she was one or the other or if this is a combo fairy thing last night.

The post mortem was good last night. Much better than last week's that was online.

ITA. I like Jason better as a clueless man-ho!:woohoo::rotfl2: "Playing" cop makes him seem a little pathetic. :guilty:

I might be the only one, but I think the storyline is really good and I appreciate the gore thrown in.

Real vamps are supposed to make you weak in the knees as well as give you a weak stomach :thumbsup2  I don't know, when I think vamps- the first thing I think of is blood.

Maybe Alan wants it known that this is NOT Twilight:laughing:

I always thought Claudine was really tall with auburn hair. The British accent did throw me, though. Now I'm going to have to look up a description of her.

You mean the nude scene with Sam wasn't enough for you*

*okay, so what if he was a dog, he wasn't dressed, was he? :lmao:

The description in the book doesn't matter. I mean Tara wasn't Sookies best friend in the book and she was white! Lafeytte was killed off early on in the books. Claudine was supposed to be very tall and drop dead gorgeous, and have a twin gay brother.

Eric also knew she was a fairy when he introduced her to her grandfather, we never found out how he found out. At least I don't remember if that was in the book or not.

I realize the character descriptions in the books and the actors aren't always the same and many plotlines have been changed. However, I was responding to RUDisney who remembered Claudine as a magnificently beautiful black woman. I remembered the description differently.

I wasn't saying the series needed to be the same--I was simply trying to remember exactly how the character was described in the books.

"But the tall women put even Tara in the shade. She was as dark-haired as Tara, though the new woman had reddish highlights that surprised the eye. She had dark eyes, too, but hers were huge and almond-shaped, almost abnormailly large. Her skin was as pale as milk, and her legs were as long as a stepladder. She was quite gifted in the bosom department, and she was wearing fire enginge red from head to toe. Her liptstick matched."

Sorry...I missed that ... I don't remember her being black inthe books though either..

Your Jason comment made me laugh!:lmao: I so agree. Just leave Jason as dumb and sexy the way we like him! Put him outside without a shirt to wash the cars again...

Honestly, the gore isn't bothering me. It's part of the story.

I watched the first episode of season 3 earlier tonight just to see him in his birthday suit ;) I think that's my favorite moment of the seasons so far ;)

Mine too

So is the Magister dead? His head looked like it kind of went gooey. Or is this another Franklin thing, where if they aren't killed in the heart, they aren't dead?
Yup Dead LOL It was a little anticlimatic IMO....but at least he's dead.

If she stays with Bill, I think that will be the end of my interest in the show. There are some changes that should not be made.

I don't know if I would stop watching but it would bother me. Bill is practically non-existent in the whole rest of the series and I've been waiting since day 1 for Eric and Sookie to be together so if they mess with that I will be really upset.

Okay, I'm really ready for the Sam/Tommy plotline to be over.

I was thrilled that Claudine has shown up but I hope she shows up as a regular character who interacts with everyone and not just in Sookie's dreams. And what was the whole "Oh, the dark" thing? I mean, I realize that it was Bill but it was so far off from the book that I wonder where they're heading with this.

Oh, and who is the "authority" that the magister and Russell keep talking about?

Okay episode but not enough Eric. ;)

I don't mind the Sam/Tommy thing...I just hope it goes somewhere.

I'm happy they brought Claudine in too. I think "the dark" represents all vamps because of their lethal attraction to fairy blood.

I think "the authority" is the Oracle character that we don't actually meet until book 5. Remember the really old, blind, vamp that performs the trial at the conference?

I agree...definitely NOT enough Eric. Another reason I'm hoping they follow the plot line from the book and give Bill the boot....there will be more time for Eric  :rotfl2:

Me too! Book 4 is my favorite! I think I read that shower scene about 10 times over and over!

The problem is that the Crystal/Jason storyline is already totally different than it was in the books. They essentially needed to make up an entire story arc for them and they are dragging it out. Just get to the good part already!

Like Eric in the shower.:love::love:

Yeah I really hope they put that scene in!

I don't think the show is meant for young girls to watch! Hopefully if you're watching a show like this, you are mature enough to know the difference between real life and television :goodvibes

I always pictured Claudine that way too! Like 7 feet tall, with long shiny brown hair, and perfect everything! Not to say the girl playing her isn't pretty...but she's not what I pictured in my head. And I definitely do not recall her having a British accent! Sookie is a decedent of sky fairies in the books...her parents were killed by water fairies.

Agree about Jason...but he's still nice to look at so as long as he stays mostly shirtless I'll be OK :thumbsup2 :lmao:

I like the gore too! I watch shows/movies like this for that purpose! Don't tell me it's a vampire movie and then have no gore! (cough cough twilight cough cough)

Eric also knew she was a fairy when he introduced her to her grandfather, we never found out how he found out. At least I don't remember if that was in the book or not.

I don't remember how he found out either...I plan to re-read the books when this season ends so I'll see if it's mentioned!

Ha! I must have ignored that description in the books because I've been picturing her as a black woman all along. I guess I'll get used to it, just like I got used to Tara not being white, like I always pictured her in the books.

I want to see when and who they pick to be JB, if he gets written into the series. He should be pretty comfortable to look at, too.

I like the gore. For the most part, it fits into the storyline and is not gratuitous like bare chests in teen movies.

You rock! Thanks so much for looking that up for me! :thumbsup2

No worries! I'm fine with things being different but I do have to search my memory banks sometimes to keep the differences straight in my head.
