"The Official 'True Blood' Vampire Thread" ...spoilers included.

Did you see that Bill wants a sex scene with Eric on True Blood?

While I know that vampires aren't selective about with whom they do the deed, I just think this is icky as it goes against the books in ways that the series has not done. Eric is supposed to be Sookie's lover, not Bill's. :headache:

If you're thinking I just don't want to watch men together, I see nothing wrong with that. I thought Queer As Folk was very well done. But, the men in that were supposed to be together... not the same in True Blood.

What do you think? Do you think Alan Ball will take the story there?

I can't say I blame him one bit. :rotfl:

For those of you in New Orleans or close by (Arelys!), Charlaine Harris will be book signing October 31: Garden District Book Shop, 2727 Prytania St. New Orleans, LA; 1 pm

That's awesome! She's also supposed to be at that True Blood and Gold ball the night before. I'd love to go to the signing, but I bet it will be mobbed (as will all of New Orleans I'm sure, with Halloween and all.)

My friend wanted me to go to the ball, but I think we've chickened out. We've done a little research. Those people are hard core, not our happy little Twilighters and Sookie fans! lol

Funny you say that b/c I asked my friend if she would be interested in going and she told me she was too scared, lol. I figured you could just dress up as much or little as you wanted as long as you adhered to the dress code. I think it sounds like fun, but I love people watching. Maybe Dbf and I will go next year.

OMG..the books were great! They were so much fun to read..I kept lol!! DD13 wants to read them...but of course she can't! I borrowed the first book from the library..I was on a list for a month. I was on a wait list for the second one but I had ordered the 8 book box set from Walmart and I finally got them last week! I amazed my DD13 by reading at least 1 book a day. I went to the library on Monday to get book 9, but I forgot it was a holiday and they were closed!! :rotfl:

I picked it up Tuesday on my way to work..it was done before I went to bed that night!! I want book 10!!

Wow...I never thought I would be "team Eric"!!! I really hope they hook up in the series! I hope they bring in Quinn too. I really liked his character. I didn't like that the killed off Claudine in the last book! I really loved her character!

I am hooked and I need more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cheer2:

:rotfl: funny you both mention that...my boyfriend said he was scared of going because he didn't know how hardcore these people are. I think he has some crazy, not-so-DIS-friendly ideas of what happens at these balls. We're still on the fence about going. Neither of us get off of work until 6 or so and then by the time we get home, change, and drive down to New Orleans it will be close to 8:30, if not already 9pm. We'll probably just save ourselves some trouble and watch True Blood season 1 and Interview with the Vampire. :thumbsup2

Im going to the ball also.:):):woohoo::woohoo: Dressed as a Were. I live in New Orleans.

That's awesome! You must let us know how it was. I'd love to see your costume too, because all I'm coming up with for a were is someone with hair glued all over them :scared1: (it's a not pretty mental picture:laughing:)

Ahh! I'm so jealous of you guys that are going to the Ball! Have fun for us!

I know! I can't believe she died :( That last book got very dark at the end... Now I need the 10th book! I can't believe I have to wait until May.

I was NOT happy about that either. I cried....alot. :guilty:

Ok has anyone read any of Charlaine Harris's other books? I was in Target yesterday and I picked up "Grave Sight" and "Grave Surprise". I was wondering what you guys thought about them.

I like her other books, but I don't love them like I love the Sookie series.

same here...I've read all the other series and while they are good and nice quick reads, they just don't hold the same interest to me as the Sookie series...but they are definitely worth a read!

I really liked the Aurora Teagarden stories. They come in second place to Sookie. Then the Grave series and then the Lily Bard series.

I didn't like her other 2 non-series books. I could never get past the first chapter or two in them.

I've read all of her series. Sookie is my favorite, Aurora Teagarden next, then Lily Bard followed last by the Harper (grave) series. Just a switch in the Harper series bothered me a lot. I'm not going to say what, because I don't want to spoil it. But it had a big ick factor for me.

I'm anxiously awaiting for the first chapter of the next Sookie book to be posted on her website. Even though the book doesn't come out until May, it's always a nice tease to get the first chapter in December.

Hmmm ok I'll let you guys know what I think when I finish. Doesn't sound to optimistic though! I just need something to tide me over until either the new book comes out or the series comes back!

Desiree - have you read any of J.R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood books? I'm on number 5 now. More Vampires! Each book centers on a different Brother, their fight for their race, and of course lots of, umm, intimate moments as they each find their 'mate'. Makes the Eric and Sookie shower scene look like a soap commercial! Great, fun stories.
