"The Official 'True Blood' Vampire Thread" ...spoilers included.

I liked the finale if only for the end of Maryanne's story line. I was also not a huge fan of Eggs (gorgeous guy, but dumb character.) I did not however like the marriage proposal. :headache:

Is it just me or did it appear as though Bill was doing it simply because he knows that now that Sookie has Eric's blood, there is a bond there of sorts & he is worried that the bond they now share will take Sookie away from him. That's kind of how it came across to me (or maybe I'm just reaching because I hated it so much.)

Oh, I also liked the finale because the final scenes set in that "French restaurant" were filmed at a Bed & Breakfast located about a mile from my apartment. :thumbsup2 Now if only I had known they were filming so close to me when they were actually filming.

We had, what, a whole minute of Eric??? What was that all about??? I complained through the whole show.

I AGREE! I was hoping for so much more Eric.

My favorite part was when Jason was quoting movie lines and said, "I love the smell of nail polish in the morning." :lmao:

:rotfl: Jason has some of the best lines ever, as does Andy. When Jane Bodehouse said everyone needs what Andy is drinking & he came back with "It's Diet Coke. With lime!" I died laughing.

Sing it, Sistah! Eric was supposed to be with Sookie at the maenad's demise... in his hot pink spandex. :lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc

Even though it was talked about long ago that the wonderful hot pink spandex would not be making an appearance this season, I was still holding out a little hope. :guilty:

Anyone else notice the hands were gloved using the silver chain on Bill in the restaurant?

I assumed it was because the captor was someone who would also be affected by the silver chains.

So, for the book readers, did anyone else notice that Sophie Anne told Eric not to ever drink Sookie's blood? Do you think we're headed in the same direction as the books in that there's a reason why Sookie is so attractive to vampires?

In a recent interview with Alan Ball I read he said they were heading that direction. That they were going to include the "Sookie is not all human" in the story more & more next season, along with the wares & shifters.

I'm just happy to see Mariann dead. I would have stomped on her corpse. lol

:rotfl: you and me both. I was hoping Sookie would run up & kick it a few times.

How did Bill get so much energy to bury Maryann after feeding Sam? Wouldn't he have needed to feed off Sookie?

Did anyone else see that part of the story coming from the previews? We saw Sookie apologising to someone after a bloody knife was pulled out. I figured it was either Eggs, and Sookie was apologising for Tara's BF getting knifed, or that it was Sam. The only way to save Sam is if a vampire would give him his blood. (That is, if a shifter could be saved that way.) I didn't think we were losing Sam next season.

I also suspected Eggs was going to be offed. I said that here a while back, that he'd have to pay for killing people. Plus, they can do more story lines with sad sap, Tara, if she's alone, without a BF. With Eggs, they'd always have to write him into the stories in some way if they kept him. I'm glad they left Lafayette in the story, he's really colorful and adds so much to TB. But, I didn't think that would happen with Eggs. He was more intrinsic to the Maryann storyline.

Tara will have to recover and find another BF... and complications from that.

I didn't see Bill asking Sookie to marry him as a selfish act. He loves her and wants to be with her. I just think the Eric lovers will always see Bill in a negative light. I will third, fourth, whatever being upset about no Eric in pink spandex. I prefer the lighter maenad story line from the book (with pink spandex.)

I kind of thought that too. His proposal didn't seem intrinsic to the flow of their relationship.

For a fact you will see more. I have not read the books, but I was just reading that we will see way more of Eric, and a lot less of Bill....

I'm also kind of snidely wondering if this sudden engagement in real life between Anna Paquin & Stephen Moyer (announced last month,) isn't also his way of saying hands off his woman. Especially if Alexander & other actors are going to do the naked horizontal mambo with Anna next season. :stir: :rolleyes1

Their engagement really wasn't that sudden. They'd been dating almost since the beginning of shooting the first season (which started way before air time).

I do think, however, that she and Alex Saarsgard have great chemistry on screen. :)

Thanks for the link! It's a great interview. Did you see the link within the interview about who they cast for the King of Mississippi? He looks almost exactly how I imagined him, so I'm thrilled.

First off, this is probably the best phrasing ever. :rotfl:

And I agree. It felt so awkwardly placed. It was an undoubtedly sweet gesture, but it just seemed so weird & rushed. I can't blame the man (vampire?) though...with gorgeous Eric lurking around, I'd be trying to lock that down too. ;)

BINGO - Glad to see others noticed it too.:goodvibes

I also was thinking who else could sneak up on a vampire other then another vampire? They have heightened senses after all. And I still want to believe that the fact that Godric said "you're banished from my area" means something. I do hope it goes in the same direction as the books (I could do without that trunk scene though :scared1:)

Just mourning this Sunday evening time slot. :sad1: :sad1: :sad1:

Curb Your Enthusiasm will be on at 9:00. I love that Larry is going to try to get back together with Cheryl while trying to get rid of Loretta.

Bored to Death turned out, at 9:30, to be a clever new show that I'll watch again.

All is not lost... but I do miss True Blood.

Has anyone watched Vampire Diaries on the CW? It is on Thursday night at 8:00. It's watchable with a teenage cast.

I've been watching it and I think its been pretty good so far. I haven't read the books so I have no idea what will happen and I think I'll keep it that way. Plus, I have heard the books are mediocre.

Resurrecting this thread from the dead (no pun intended). So to fill in my True Blood void, I managed to get my hand on the entire Sookie Stackhouse book series. I just tonight, finished the last one...

I am now suffering through withdrawls again, with the continuation of the story not until May...

So does anyone have any speculation, or wanna talk books...or is there a book thread...

To help your withdrawals, and anyone elses, "A Touch of Dead" was released today. It's a compilation of all of Harris' short stories for the series. I haven't read any of her short stories yet, but am excited to fill the void for a couple of days.

IMHO, get the short story collection from the library. Not worth buying. I've read a few and they are really not very good. The Dracula one was awful. Not worth Sookie!

Are you refering to the Halloween story? I enjoyed it. Plenty of Eric  in that story.

On the author's website, she usually releases the name of the next book in November and the first chapter in December (as a Christmas gift to her fans.)

I've read all of the books 4 times, except for the last. Only 2 times for that one. I like to reread the series before the next book comes out.

I'm finally on the last book.. I'm waiting for it to come out in paperback before I make the purchase so I got it at the library..

funny story actually... it took me three tries to get it.. the first time I accidently got the book on tape version, then I requested the wrong title (in my defense they are all very similar :lmao) and then finally got DFiance to get the right one for me.. I'm on the wait list for the short story collection but theres about 48 people in front of me so that will be awhile. I think I'm going to have to just start them over again when I'm finished. I can't get enough of them.. there so good :goodvibes

Did you see that Bill wants a sex scene with Eric on True Blood?

http://www.okmagazine.com/2009/10/stephen-moyer-wants-a-sex-scene-with-alexander-skarsgard/

While I know that vampires aren't selective about with whom they do the deed, I just think this is icky as it goes against the books in ways that the series has not done. Eric is supposed to be Sookie's lover, not Bill's. :headache:

If you're thinking I just don't want to watch men together, I see nothing wrong with that. I thought Queer As Folk was very well done. But, the men in that were supposed to be together... not the same in True Blood.

What do you think? Do you think Alan Ball will take the story there?

Somehow, I think this is Stephen Moyer's British "cheekiness" shining through. I watched an interview with him, Alexander and Anna at a fan conference. She was sitting in the middle and the "boys were behaving badly." :rotfl2:

For those of you in New Orleans or close by (Arelys!), Charlaine Harris will be book signing October 31: Garden District Book Shop, 2727 Prytania St. New Orleans, LA; 1 pm
