Yeah, I kinda felt the same way. I'm still trying to not be frustrated. This is really my first reality show experience where I've voted. The two guys I loved didn't make it. Joey got booted the week before and now Mario.
I like Emmitt, but I had to be honest and know that the reasons I liked Emmitt were more to do with his personality than his technique and that is something I always complain about when people vote and watch American Idol. They vote for the person they like the most instead of the one with the most talent. Or, in some cases, the one they think they'd get along with best.
And that's what I did and it kinda makes me think: what's the point? I think next season I'll just watch and not vote. You can't really go against a fanbase of someone like Emmitt Smith. Even Jerry Rice last year (who didn't dance 10% as well as Emmitt) went WAY too far because of his fan base.
It kinda makes it seem fruitless to even try. Emmitt COULD dance, but to me, his technique was no match for Mario's. I knew, however, that Mario was done once I started reading stuff like, "I think Mario's a jerk! I don't want him to win!" and "Karina is a (insert word here)!"
But for me, what was important, was the two or less minutes they had on the dance floor and nothing else and I think that's where the mistake is made with reality shows such as this. It's more of a popularity contest than a contest based on technique. *sigh*
I know, I know. I should have known, but I was a reality show voting virgin.
