I'm new to the forums and thought I should pop by and say hello, haha. My boyfriend and I are heading down in October! It will be his first trip to DLR in 11 or 12 years, it's been 2 years for me. (We're heading down Oct 12-17, staying at the Castle Inn & Suites.)

I'm a little nervous and excited. I've never been to DLR in October so I'm excited to experience it! I'm not going to do the Halloween Party though, I don't think it would be up my boyfriend's alley.

Just a question from me if that's okay! Last time I went was in mid-August, and it was incredibly hot and humid (90-100ºF) and really busy. How does October usually fare in comparison, crowd-wise? Also, what is everyone's favourite thing to do that DLR has to offer in Halloweentime? I'm really looking forward to all the Halloween themed rides and treats!

Palaven --

There are only 2 rides with Halloween overlays, but there are quite a few treats!

My favorite Halloween Time things are the Halloween Carnival and Haunted Mansion Holiday.

In this specific post you will get an idea of what you can enjoy of Halloween Time without going to the Halloween Party. It will also tell you exactly where the biggest concentrations of Halloween Time fun can be found (there are lots of areas without Halloween touches at all).

This is another good post with info about what to see and do in Disneyland for Halloween Time (I have to add a couple more things to it, but there's a good bit there already), including the Halloween Carnival.

And here is a post listing the very few Halloween Time offerings in California Adventure.

And this post will give you an idea of what other events might be taking place during your time at DLR in October, namely CHOC Walk, Columbus Day and UEA. Those three events could affect crowds quite a bit, but they will probably not be like peak summer crowds. Usually, once we get past mid-October and UEA, crowds at DLR die down a bit, but then pick up again right before Halloween.

And, since I've just brought a bunch of info from the Halloween Time Superthread here, I would also suggest joining us in the Halloween Time at DLR Superthread, for updates, discussion on breaking news, and general Halloween Time season chat and information. We're friendly and welcoming, as well as helpful and fun!:dancer:

Got my MHP tickets today! Going with my cousin oct. 6 And solo Oct 8 :) yaaaay, it's getting real!

DS and I will be on a guys-only trip, arriving 29th Sep departing 3rd Oct, staying @Grand Californian on a great military discount, planning on using the military promotional 3-day park hopper. No Halloween party for us I guess -- and here's hoping the crowd prediction site is accurate!!! There should be nothing like a Disney "ghost town" for Halloweentime!

This is a first visit for DS, and my first visit since 1993 (when I dropped in for the evening to meet my scattered family at the Blue Bayou for dinner).

We are looking forward to FUN.

Welcome! I have been to DL one time in October and plan to go again this year just for the Halloween party (couldn't fit in more time).

I love autumn decor, especially pumpkings! (I realize my typo but I like it better that way, haha) I didn't know they did pumpkin carving, that's so neat. I definitely can't miss the Haunted Mansion Holiday!
Thanks for letting me know about all those things, I'll keep an eye out. c:

Wow! I had no idea there was so much! Thank you so much for all the information, Shelley! I can't wait to sink my teeth into it all, haha.
You all seem like a nice bunch! I think I'm going to like this board. c;

We're taking my girls for their first trip October 15-17th to celebrate their 4th and 5th birthdays! It's a surprise and I'm SOOOOOOO excited! I haven't been since before they were born and I can't wait to share the magic with them. They are going to FREAK!!!:cheer2:

Jumping in too! (Although I haven't read this whole thread so forgive me).

We have had a trip planned for August 18-21 for several months now with my brother and cousin and families (so 12 total), but DH just had to bail so he could go on a business trip that week so my sons and I are getting annual passes and going back with him in October!! Just the four of us this time (DSs are 9 & 11). Planning to arrive either the 19th or 20th and stay most of that week.

Haven't decided for sure where we are staying but likely doing a split stay between a Hilton property (with points) and one night at the Paradise Pier. Trying to make this trip as cheap as possible since we are also doing WDW and DCL in January. (Perks of year round school!)

Planning on the Halloween Party on the 20th. We've been at Halloween time before in 2011 but have never done the extra party before. Looking forward to it.

Hello everyone! We just changed our holiday trip to a Halloween trip and it feels like coming home! We went for fall break every year for I don't know how many years (skipped last year) and I am beyond excited.

Dates:
Oct 3-5
Hotel: PPH
Mickey's Halloween party Oct 3rd.

I just joined the facebook group and am buying our party tickets this week!
Whohooo!:cool1:

Taking my 15 year old son for a 3 night trip in October! So excited, and so is he. He just recently caught the Disney bug, so I think this trip will be way more fun than our last where he just wanted to go back to the hotel room! LOL We'll be at the Fairfield Inn, our usual place to stay, Oct 4-7. I love, love, love visiting in the fall!

Just had to jump on here and post...been a while since I've been around any of the Disney boards.

What Facebook group?

I'm going with a friend and my 2 girls Oct 3-6. MHP on the 3rd. Staying at the GCH for the first time. Also first time going during halloween time, so very excited to experience that. Expecting big crowds for Gays Days, but will strategize appropriately!

Oh, and I'm surprising my girls. I'm not sure how I'm going to do it yet.

Does anyone know of a list of characters (and possibly where they are located) that appear at the Disneyland Halloween Party?

Hello All!
My Husband and I are quite excited to be coming to Disney during the Halloween time. We booked this trip totally out of fluke - We were planning September however due to House-sitter being avilable we moved it to the first weekend of October.

With that being said we were greeted with Two Surprises both for the Win, Gay Days (was not planning that until I was reading a travel book) - yes we are friends of Dorothy. Then the Halloween decorations will be up!

We just started booking our Dinning reservations throughout the weekend, our first being at Cafe Bayou (Friday) and the Colour of Magic on Saturday at the Wine Terracotta. We haven't decided on Sunday yet ;) Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have lots of reading to catch up on with this Board - Along with the Facebook group (Which I just joined)

This will be my 1st time to Disneyland and my Husbands 2nd - We went to Disney World in April and now looking forward to this trip being a little closer to home.

Dates of Arrival Oct 3 - through to Oct 7 / Staying at the Grand California
