In spite of all my crowing about having a single use year, I do tend to avoid January stays with my Feb UY. Plus the Skyliner always goes down for refurb towards the end of January. Some day I do want to run in the marathon weekend though.

Yeah I couldn't walk that scary tight rope of a Jan stay w/ a Feb UY.

I booked some little vdh but my feb uy just got started so I can only book february and I own saratoga y'all. I pretty much dont exist until June of each year with my big pot

Too bad its my birthday month but Florida had some crazy cold front and no pool or anything for us. Too unpredictable. Loved december. Jollywood nights being the favorite after hour event ofc past my main banking deadline

January is my FAVE!! Low crowds, and SO much nicer weather than back home! Plus this year we came in early January and saw the Christmas decorations, which was cool.

I bet I'd really like the months between January and June, but it's hard for me to take vacations then with kids that aren't super busy with spring breakers, etc.

I think because I love all the holiday cheer I feel a little cheated. And I am very sensitive to cold. Like anything below 75 degrees to me is too cold i got my thyroid checked after @ClaraOswald suggested it and it is normal So I guess im just like that!

Back to the original question: I think this is a great tactic! And you are a smart spouse to plan this way. If it's what's best for both of you and your DVC love, how can he say no?

I thought about you as I posted this my wife got a couple weeks in december off and akv off a fresh refurb and here I am regretting life At least you helped me get top dollar That makes me feel a little better. Im really hoping that ssr goes thru so I can start doing some damage immediately

My husband and I own 200 pts direct at CCV and 140 pts resale at BLT, which I always thought were more than enough for our merry band of 3 (me, hubby and our 14 year old daughter) along with the occasional RunDisney weekend or big family trip…then we stayed at Riviera last month and fell totally in love

So now I am low-key monitoring resale prices for a Riviera contract and managed to subtly plant the seed with my hubby today ….resale restrictions are a non-issue, any Riviera points we buy would be used strictly for Riviera.

Is it sneaky/manipulative of me to plant the thought of a Riviera contract in his brain and then say nothing more about it, knowing how effective that method is to get him to go along with something I want?

Nah.. just testing the waters. Keep us posted.

We’ve stayed at most DVC resorts at this point and there’s something special about Riviera that feels like an oasis unlike any of the others…we find ourselves drawn to visit even when we don’t stay there. Keep us posted!

Hmm, interesting. I do love some of the food options, but I guess I should try staying there some day to see.

Yep, between the almond cold brew, poolside gelato, blueberry lemon pancakes, and Topolino’s…what’s not to love!!
