Hi, all! I am at my mom's house right now (about to head home actually). Just wanted to quickly post and let everyone know that we are all doing well. I am having issues with Internet Explorer with my computer! It will let me read the forums I am a member at but will not let me log in or post. I did manage to get one post in on a forum last night before it logged me off again and then I wasn't able to get back on! I have tried playing with cookies and everything else but so far no luck so that is why I haven't been posting. I have been reading this thread though and am happy you are all doing well!

I am in a hurry so can't respond to all I have read but did want to say I am so happy for you, Robin, that your dh is finally home!!!! :hyper: Anyway, Kylie has a cold (her 1st!) and dh had his toe surgery and his follow up appt. He goes back for one more follow up next week but all seems to be looking good so far! Anyway, just wanted to let you know I am okay. I am going to PM SL, tkyes, and justhat my email address in case any of you want to get in touch w/me since I don't know how long I will be out of commission as far as posting goes. If you need me PM them and they will give you my email address. I hope this is okay with you SL, justhat, and Tamie! If not, that's okay! Have a great one ladies!

Well, I've finally got the kids packed. Wouldn't you know that the clothes that I bought DD for this coming summer are already too small, at least most of them. So we had to make a Target run, to find her some things to wear. Luckily, they already had their summer stuff out--go figure, swimsuits on sale in Wisconsin in January! But I haven't even started packing for myself. I'm dreading it. It gives me a headache just thinking about it. I'm not sure what clothes of mine fit right now. Why in the world did I plan a vacation 2 1/2 months after giving birth? :confused3 And then with the breastfeeding, my b..bs are sooooo huge that I feel like when I leave the house I either look like a porn star or a frumpy housewife trying to cover up! :rotfl2: Oh well!

DisneyEnthusiast--How exciting about your trip. I'm trying to talk DH into buying into DVC, but we'll see what happens. We're staying at Saratoga Springs, so we'll get a little taste of what "welcome home" means! Go for the DVD in the car. We bought a mini-van a couple of years ago, specifically b/c of the DVD player. WE have driven to Arkansas and South Carolina and has been a saviour. DD is totally entertained, as long as we let her watch cartoons. We do have separate audio for the rear speakers, but she won't wear the headphones yet. As for driving through the night, we've done it both ways. If your kids sleep well in the car, go for the straight through the night option. Your trip sounds great, and kudos for getting your workaholic DH on vacation! :flower:

Alice28--love my hardfloor cleaner too! I got one for Christmas, and I actually enjoy, ok so I tolerate, cleaning the floors now! :)

zalansky--Hang in there! The first few days are the hardest, and then you'll love being at home! I couldn't imagine being anywhere else right now.

Well, I better get going. I have to run by the library to pick up some Disney DVDs I have on hold. DD's gotta have something to watch on the plane! And then I got to get packing!

Our kitty is back home, and she is doing well. The vet said to try and keep her from jumping. I went outside to check on her about an hour after we brought her home. She had already jumped to the very top of the car, and she jumped down before I could get to her. Silly kitty! I guess she isn't in much pain. She has long hair, so it looks funny where they had to shave her. Those surgeries aren't cheap, but I guess it is better than having to find good homes for a bunch of kittens. Luckily we were able to get her spayed before her first heat cycle. Bob Barker would be proud! :cat:

nucpharm- Have a great trip! I wish I was going.

Strawberry Lemonade- I love going to the Boardwalk. We have never stayed there, though. We always stay off-site. I just stumbled upon this thread about traveling with a 15 month-old. You may want to subscribe to it. Link

justhat- Hope you had a good flight to Arizona.

Tasha- Glad to hear that you are doing well.

zalansky- I hope you have a smooth transition from working girl to SAHM. I think you'll enjoy it.

Alice28- I'm so happy to hear that your DH will be "home" on Friday!

Disney Enthusiast- The Toyota Sequoia sounds wonderful. Enjoy your trip!

Tamie- We don't have a BRU, but I'll check TRU. Thanks!

lissawynn- Isn't it such a great feeling to have your grades completed?

FYI- There is a new code out for The Children's Place- use code BCMPC15 for an additional 20% off. If you need a baby shower gift, check out the growth chart for $2.09 and the bear for $3.49. Link They also have caps and booties for $1.39. Link
TTFN

J&D - Thanks for the link. There are some good ideas there. Glad your cat is feeling better too. We got our cat (male) from the Humane Society so they neutered him for free. I think that it's a little harder on the female cats, though.

nucpharm - Sounds like a good excuse to go buy some new clothes for yourself! ;)

Tasha - Glad you and Kylie are doing well. Hope you get your computer issues fixed soon. BTW, I did get your PM so if anyone is looking for your email, I'll be happy to let them know.

DisEnthusiast - Good luck driving! We are actually considering it, depending on how expensive the plane fare is. There's no way we would consider bringing Lucas on the plane as a lap baby (for one thing, he's so active and squirmy now that I can only imagine what he'll be like at 15 months). So we thought we'd consider a road trip. We live in Connecticut, so I'm sure that will be an adventure! DH is originally from Tampa and drove with his family to/from CT many times as a kid and insists it isn't that bad. We'd rent a mini van or SUV. Anyway, you'll have to let me know how your trip goes!

Alice28 - Thanks for the tips! We have hardwood floors, too. What is the hardwood floor cleaner? I've been using the Swiffer Wet Jet.

zalansky - How sweet of your DH to send you flowers! I hope you're feeling better.

tkyes - Have a good time planning your trip. Sorry, but I never stayed at POR, just POFQ. I know they're both "PO" but I have no idea if they have the same room layouts. FWIW, I remember a bathtub at POFQ.

justhat - I feel bad for your friend's son. I don't know why some people are so girl-crazy.

Our trip is officially booked: 3 nights at Boardwalk and 6 at POFQ. Like I mentioned above, we still haven't decided if we're flying or driving yet but we're flexible on that. We'll probably take a day to drive to Tampa to see DH's aunt and cousins and possibly go to Sea World and Universal. I have to check out the Universal boards because I've never been to IOA and the impression I get is that it's all roller coasters and thrill rides so I have to what's there. I hope I don't bore everyone talking about this.

Hi mommies. I am being bad and taking a break from grading 5x each. I am feeling lousy today and hope I'm not coming down with something. I even got up early, hit the store, and bought myself cold medicine to take today. I'm hoping it will kill whatever is lurking inside my head, chest, and throat.

More bad news to report from my school. Our new reading teacher's DH has a brain tumor. Apparently he's been blacking out and wasn't telling her. He had a seizure on Sunday and that landed him in the hospital. After all the tests they ran, they found the tumor. I'm not sure how big it is, etc., but she said the drs are optimistic that he can be treated w/o surgery.

My grades are almost done. I have a few students making up work today. Thank goodness I can put that behind me for another 9 weeks.

I am considering taking a personal day tomorrow to shop and cook for Jimmy's bday party. I don't want to run myself ragged on Friday night and Sat. morning and be a bear for the party. I have a tendancy to get snippy when I'm tired.

I have read all the back posts and will try to get back to you all later. We have a 7th grade class meeting next period!

Good day!

SL- the floor cleaner is by Hoover and it's called FloorMate. It was about $180 on sale- it's awesome. I have Pergo, not hardwood, but it's safe on hardwood too.

Remember gals, how I have complained that my MIL can be so completely narcissistic, I am stunned at times????????? This is what she said to me on the phone yesterday (background: DH's big important ceremony is this Friday, but the party I am throwing (which she blew to him- he knows now) is next Saturday). She said, "I wish the Army coordinated this ceremony next week." Me: "Why?" Her: "Because then I wouldn't have to make two trips- I could go to the ceremony AND your party." Me: "The army really doesn't give a care when I give a surprise party or not- they don't cater to anyone's schedule." Her (chuckled) and said, "Well it would certainly make things more convenient for me!!!!!!!"

I swear, she drives me crazy. She has been crabbing that she can't come to both, then saying she can, then saying she doesn't want to come to the party cause it's all 'our generation people' coming. I said 2-3 times, "No it's not- last I checked my parents, Bob's boss, some of our neighbors are YOUR generation- why do you have to make sweeping statements like that?" And even if it is our generation, does that mean she's not welcome?

I told DH this on the phone last night and he LOLed at what I said to her- I said, "I AM SO READY TO HAND YOUR MOTHER BACK TO YOU!" He was like, "I know, I know.....just remember she's paying our car off so we can buy a new one..." :rolleyes1 She will be here this afternoon so I have to play nice for awhile longer....I try, I really do!

Anyway, now DH will probably be here later tonight...around 9 hopefully. I have our front yard all decorated to the hilt- it actually didn't rain yesterday (MIRACLE) so I hung up banners all over the front porch, the front fence, stuck little flags in flower pots....I had an extra banner so my neighbor said she wanted to hang it on her porch. Quite festive.

Hi :wave2:,
I am still fighting this stinking headache :guilty: ! It comes and goes but it's still there. If it doesn't hit the road over the weekend I am going to call the doctor. DH thinks it's related to my TOM which could be but I still can't be feeling like this for a week once a month.

Well, I just ordered another $85.00 worth of stuff from Children's Place  . This time it was for DS though. That darn kid keeps growing ;) ! Thanks for the code, J & D :) .

I will try to get back later to respond to everyone's posts on the thread. I read them but my head is pounding at the moment so I think I will take a couple minutes to lay down before DS gets home from school.

Nucpharm29 - Have a wonderful and magical WDW trip. I'm insanely jealous of anyone who is getting away to Sunny Florida for a winter trip. Let us know how you liked Saratoga Springs. When we stayed at POFQ in 2003 we took the boat down the river and SS was still being built, but it looked very nice.

Vald1977 - hope your headache goes away soon....try Excedrin Migrane, they work so fast for any headache pain.

Alice, i'm so excited for you and your family!!!! :cheer2: Your husband probably can't wait to come home! Your MIL is a real piece of work!

Lisawynn - best of luck with the party this weekend - sorry to hear about your friend's DH with the tumor.

Tasha-Scott - I know you're not reading much but I just wanted to say Hi!

Justthat - It's never fun to come across those people in this world who hate kids. I think people forget when they fly on a plane that they actually have to sit next to *gasp* people. It would have bothered me also, but try not to waste your energy on someone who has such negative energy. Hope you're all hanging in there on all of these trips and you're feeling a little better.

Tykes - So jealous you'll be in WDW in a few weeks. You'll have to give us a trip report on taking a 9/10 month old! Hope your ankle is better. If you go on All ears net, I think they have pictures of the interiors of POR. We walked up there from POFQ and we liked both of them very much - there was a lot to do and the boat rides to DTD were fun. We also rented a power boat at POR and did the fishing.

SL - We'd love to stay at the Boardwalk. We loved POFQ and i'm sure you will also. We're going to splurge next spring and stay at the Beach Club, i've always wanted to stay at a Deluxe near Epcot. You'll have to give us a full report of your stay as well.

J&D - Great news about your kitty!!!

Disney Enthuiast - Please tell me all about BCV.....!!! Good luck driving to WDW. We did it once (w.o kids) and it was not for us. It's a great way to go to WDW and stay on budget though, and for a larger family to fly it can get really expensive.

Zalansky/Loretta - you've got a very sweet DH for sending you flowers. I'm sure you'll be extra emotional when you leave work tomorrow, but just try and be happy with your decision and enjoy your time with the babies. When you're 70 years old and you're playing with your grandchildren, you won't be saying to yourself "I wish I worked more when my kids were babies". I struggle with the work/home balance too, just as we all do. I'll cry my eyes out if my baby starts to say his first words, steps or other milestones at my sitter's house. She is like a grandmother to my kids though.

Well, Saturday is my birthday......i'm going to be 35 years young...remember how OLD 35 used to sound when you were in High School? Sunday is the Christening - and i'll get to spend a little time with my MIL. She's doing as well as can be expected and has her sad moments at night when she's all alone in a quiet house. I'm going to ask the priest if he can mention a word about FIL in some way during the baptism - he was so much looking forward to coming to NJ for this big event. Sad.

Talk to you ladies soon, Hi to Jill (hope JP is doing well), Gems (and Shelby), and everyone else!

Hi all!

Just stopping in quickly, I need to hop in the shower while Tyler is napping.

mommypoppins - Thanks! I was getting my rooms mixed up. We've stayed at POR before, but for some reason I was thinking the double rooms didn't have tubs. Thanks for clearing me up!

Hi Tasha! I received your PM too, so if anyone needs to contact Tasha, feel free to send me a PM.

nucpharm - Have fun! I'm glad you found some stuff at Target.

j&d - glad your kitty is ok!

zalansky - that is so sweet of your DH! I hope your transition goes well.

Hillary - Happy 35th Birthday!!! I hope you have a great day. Good luck with the christening. That is sad that your FIL won't be there to join you. :(

Alice - That's great that it didn't rain and ruin your decorations. LOL about your MIL!

lissawynn - good luck with your party. Happy 1st Birthday to Jimmy!!!

vald - I hope your headache goes away soon!

Hi to everyone else!

Gotta run!

Tamie

May I pop in here and ask this question to all the new moms who gave birth about 4 to 7 months ago??

I need to ask this question. I've given birth to my fourth child in July. I have not gotten my period yet. I'm nursing my wee one only two times or three times a day and rest is bottle formula.

For the past 9 days, I've had cramping and I expect my cycle to return ======= but it has not.

I have two of my friends here in my town that's gotten preg. without getting their period.

My question -- when, how many months after birth, if you remember, getting your cycle with breastfeeding and formula.

Thank you.........

Welcome, SeeDisney!

Strawberry Lemonade- I just read on another BB that Target has the Hoover FloorMate at 50% off.

Gotta run. My princess just woke up from her nap. princess:

Just wanted to pop in really quickly to say Hi! :sunny: Sorry that I haven't posted lately, it has been insane here. No sleep and trying to stay sane during the day. :earboy2: At least JP is doing well even though he is regressing in his sleeping. :goodvibes I hope everyone is doing well!

I gotta run b/c I need to get Katie to dance. I'll pop back in later after reading all the posts and reply.

Take care and I'll post later tonight! :teeth:

Hi mommies! I have some catching up to do. I am just overwhelmed with school work. My honors kids are leaving me next week (block schedule) and I'll be getting a new group of kids. Besides not wanting them to go, I had to make up a final exam for them. I have final grades due next week. I have way too many kids failing.

Gotta go. DD has a band concert today.

Happy Birthday Hillbeans! I am turning 34 this year and starting to feel old....yep, I remember when 35 seemed so old and here we are. Oh well. Our kids & Disney keep us young, right?

lissawynn- I'm hoping your coworker's DH is ok...and that you feel well soon!

SeeDisney- I had my DD in March and still no period. I do nurse her 4-5 times a day and once at nighttime. I want to say my boys were close to one year before my TOM returned. Hard to say. If I don't get it by her first birthday I am going to call my doctor. Several times I have felt very close to starting, and then it doesn't happen. And my only chance to have gotten pregnant was just a couple day ago, so I just feel like my hormone levels 'get close' and then I nurse her a bunch and they reverse themselves? I dunno. It's strange to 'want' my period to come.

MIL is here- she's at her hotel right now. Going to get DH in about 5-6 hours! Yay! A few of our neighbors have put out their flags and other patriotic paraphernalia. :cheer2:

Alice28 - Wow. Your MIL is a real treat. And I thought my DM gave my DH a hard time, but my DM has nothing on your MIL. Yikes.

Tasha - Glad you are doing well.

Nucpharm - Have a wonderful trip. I am looking forward to hearing about it when you return. DVC is fantastic and I am so glad we took the plunge. I couldn't imagine doing laundry on vacation and loved going to the GF Concierge. We ate out nice 2 out of 3 meals a day on previous trips. How could I give that up? But then I had kids. And then I realized how helpful it was to have a kitchen for picky eaters and a laundry for messes. We still go out to dinner some nights, but can feed the kids when we get back because they inevitably only eat bread or crackers at the restaurant. And the whole idea that my DH can't get out of the vacation or he will lose money is priceless. I would recommend DVC to everyone. And the rooms are nicer and bigger than the Deluxe resorts. Not bad. If you can swing it, seriously consider it.

J&D - I'm so glad your kitty is o.k.

Hillary - Happy 35th!

zalansky - Hope your transition goes well. I'll keep you in my thoughts.

vald1977 - Hope you feel better soon.

SL - I'm so glad you booked the trip. How exciting!!! I'll let you know how the drive went for us.

We are officially getting the Sequoia tonight. I'm so excited and can't wait to see it pull in. I'll miss my RX300 though. She was a good car.

Thanks everyone for your well wishes on our vacation. I'm looking so forward to going. Hillbeans, the BCV are great and we've stayed there in the past. The pool has a sand bottom and both kids could walk in up to their waists and play w/o the fear of going under the water. And the kiddie slide on the pirate ship is great for toddlers. We also love the close proximity to MGM and EPCOT and the Cape May Cafe is awesome for tired travelers who want a quick bite to eat. This will be our 2nd stay there.

Wishing you all well. I'll try to say "Hi" tomorrow. :wave2:

Checking back into the DIS after being away for a long time!
I'm a new mom. Katie was born 3 months early and was in the NICU for a LOONG time. We're just now getting into a stable routine that allows me to sneak onto the computer every now and then.

Any other Preemie moms out there?

Morning. Sick. Jimmy, I fear, has another ear infection. I must call the dr. this morning and hope they can do a script for something w/o seeing him. I took a personal day today to get my bday party stuff done. I just want to crawl back into bed.

Hope you are all well.

lissawynn - Sorry to hear about your coworker's DH. I hope Jimmy feels better for his party.

Alice28 - Wow, your MIL is something else.

Valerie - I hope you're feeling better.

Hillbeans - Happy Birthday! :bday: :cake:

tkyes, zalansky, joats, T16GEMS, justhat, Tasha - Hi! Hope all is well.

J&D - Thanks for the floor cleaner info. I'll have to check it out.

llij - I hope JP starts sleeping better for you soon.

DisKim - Good luck with your school work.

DisEnthusiast - Congrats on your new car!

KarenTX - Congrats and welcome to you and Katie!

TGIF! Tonight is my scrapbooking class. I already attempted to make a page on my own which turned out pretty sorry looking so I hope to pick up a few tips tonight. Tomorrow we're having dinner with a former neighbor at her new house (and hope to meet her new husband - we've never even seen him when she lived next door to us...DH thinks he's made up! He actually might not even be there tomorrow - he's always mysteriously "busy") then pop over to my aunt's for one of her semi-regular game nights.

Lucas has started scootching!! Backwards, of course. He pushes himself back with his arms then sort of rocks forward to get his grip back then pushes himself back again. He can go up on his hands and knees also, but is just rocking back and forth at this point. I'm going to have to baby proof soon.

karentx - hi! Congrats on baby Katie. I'm glad to hear she is doing so well!

lissawynn - I'm so sorry everyone is so sick. What horrible timing. I wish I could drive over to your house and help you!! I hoe everyone feels better soon.

SL - Have fun at your scrapbooking class. I'm sure you'll pick up some great pointers and ideas. I was supposed to go to a scrapbooking workshop tonight but my girlfriend had to cancel. I think I might go pick up some Christmas papers and supplies and just work from home. I'm starting our Christmas scrapbook. Yeah Lucas on scooting!! I thought it was so amazing how quickly it went from scooting to crawling. I think in a matter of a week and a half it turned into a crawl, not a good one, but a crawl none the less. Have fun baby proofing ;)

Not much new here. My MIL is watching Tyler tomorrow night. We are hanging out with some neighbors. It's just 2 weeks until our WDW trip. I've been trying to pick up something everytime I'm at the store. I'm still undecided if we'll pack all those jars of baby food or if I should ship them. I did get a small diaper bag that attaches to the stroller. Target has some great clearance items right now.

Talk to you all later. Have a great weekend.

Tamie

Hi all-

real quick- I guess we were on the news last night- when we got home (11:30) my best friend had left a message that she saw us. We were interviewed and everything, but I guess it's not uploaded to the website yet. I gotta go out again (governor thing), but if any of you periodically want to check the website, it was www.kgw.com & look for something about Oregon soldiers (troop F) returning on 1/19.
