Wow! I am finally caught up again! I read thru back to my last post. I sure have missed alot. I have been so busty trying to plan my California Vacation and I am finally done. I don't have time to respond to everything, but I am glad all the mommies and babies seem to be doing well!

Hillbeans - Happy Birthday!!!

Nupcharm - Enjoy your trip!

Alice28 - Glad to see your hubby will be "home-home" soon! P.S. I love the Hoover Floormate, too! That was the one way I could get DH to do floors was to buy him a toy to do them!

Hi to everyone else!!!!

Just a quick ? - I am flying cross country with Aiadn soon. He will be almost 8 mos when we do so. Does anyone have any tips? I did purchase a seat for him since it will be 2 fairly long flights, but is there anything else I should know? Got to go, Prince Charming is up from his nap!

Hi everyone. I'm "done" my running around for party stuff. I know I have forgotten stuff, but it will have to wait until later. I'm taking Jimmy to the dr. for 4:00. They won't give him anything until the dr sees him.

I probably won't be back on until after the party. Here's to hoping it's a success!

Hi everyone!

nucpharm and DE - I hope you have great trips! Say "hi" to Disney for me.

Alice28 - I checked that website and did not see the story. Let us know when they put it up!

SL - I always wanted to learn how to scrapbook. What a great hobby. Have fun!

Bellacam - I've flown cross country twice with babies (each a year old). I can't say it's fun. All I can really say is be prepared with snacks and toys and you should be fine. Hopefully, you will have nice, understanding people around you during the flight. Good luck!

lissawynn - I can't believe Jimmy is sick and his party is tomorrow! I hope he gets better quickly. Have a great birthday party! And, of course, give Jimmy one of these for me :bday:

Hillbeans - Happy birthday!!

tkyes - When I went to Disney in August with Aidan, I used wegoshop for baby food, diapers, wipes, etc. It worked out great and they really seemed to bargain shop for us because my bill was surisingly low. If you go to wegoshop.com, you just put in your order and specify the resort you will be at. I wouldn't lug all that baby food down there if I were you. Don't forget, they also sell it in the baby care centers if you get desperate and most of the counter service restaurants have unsweetened applesauce. I gave that to Aidan a few times.

Aidan turned 9 months old this week and is still not crawling. Should I be worried? My DD walked at 9 months and my other DS walked at 10 months. Aidan gets around on his behind and rolls all over the place but just can't seem to get himself to crawl. We have yet another busy weekend ahead of us that will seem like it's over before it begins. DH's niece is having an engagement party tomorrow. It's hard to be happy for her because I think she is making a mistake. She hardly knows the guy and they don't seem to be in love. I think she's just in it for his money. He's one of those who is loaded but extremely cheap.

Checking back into the DIS after being away for a long time!
I'm a new mom. Katie was born 3 months early and was in the NICU for a LOONG time. We're just now getting into a stable routine that allows me to sneak onto the computer every now and then.

Any other Preemie moms out there?

Welcome! Michael wasn't truly a premie - just a couple weeks early after a very long time of trying to stop labor, but we did time in NICU too. Hope Katie is doing great!

About the Sequoia - one of my best friends has one and LOVES it. They've used it for many family trips - they have 2 kids, including one with her sister, Sis's DH and their DS! Said they needed the roof rack for that but otherwise all were comfortable.

Welcome home DH of Alice28!! And too funny about the MIL - mine can be like that too. They were super ticked off we didn't make it to DH's Grandpa's birthday event last Christmas. Didn't see why me being on bedrest, about to have DS had to interfere with their party. And also didn't like that DH didn't just take the girls and leave me here alone. Hello?? I couldn't drive myself to the hospital!!! I just promise myself I'll never be like that!

JustThat - if any questions on Arizona cities let me know. Friend mentioned above has lived in Tucson since about 84, we live in Phoenix from 82-00 with a couple years away in between.

Okay - I'm supposed to be making dinner. I'm home sick today - this cold has been awful but I seem to have found something that makes it liveable.

"I have been so busty.."

Bellacam - you made me laugh! I know it was a typo, but it's pretty fitting on the new moms board. ;) We are flying with Tyler soon too. I'm going to check into Earplanes. I think I'm going to pick up a couple small new toys that he hasn't seen before. Good luck :)

lissawynn - Good luck!! I'm sure the party will be perfect.

diskim - Thanks for the tip on wegoshop. I just took a peak. I'll mention it to DH and see what he thinks. I was thinking of just sending down baby food UPS. I don't mind carrying the diapers and wipes. We'll see.

ahutton - sorry you're sick! Feel better soon.

OMG!! Yep, I'm that too! What an appropriate typo! I'll blame it on mommy brain.

Hi everyone! (Wow, there are lots of new smilies since I've last posted. What fun! :yay: )

We are all doing well here. It has been a little crazy so I've haven't had a chance to post in a bit. I actually should be sitting in my research methods class at the moment, but I ended up dropping it b/c I've been too exhausted lately. The thought of sitting in a class for eight hours every Saturday and then trying to study was a little overwhelming so I decided to postpone my classes. I'm all set for summer school which the girls are not happy about, but I really need to finish up this program.

John Paul is doing well and getting bigger. He goes in for his 2nd RSV shot in a little over a week, but the good news is that the insurance is paying for it this time. Yea! :woohoo: John hasn't been sleeping very well lately, but at least he is stretching his nighttime feedings to 5 and 6 hours. We are just dealing with his Binky addiction. Ugh! He likes to wake up at night screaming for his binky. I should know better b/c my 7 year old did the same thing when she was a baby. We tried to cold turkey the binky for a few days but that failed miserably so I am back to letting him have it. The past two nights have been a lot better though so I'm crossing my fingers that we are on the upswing.

Hillbeans - Happy Birthday! :bday: You are young! :teeth: I'm turning 38 this year so all you mommies out there are spring chickens compared to me. :goodvibes I hope that you have a very wonderful birthday. Enjoy the Christening as well. I'm sure it will be bittersweet for you all with the loss of your FIL. :grouphug:

Alice28 - Glad that your DH is finally home for good! :cheer2: Have a great time at his party. Sorry that your MIL has been a thorn in your side. I hope she gets better for you.

Lisawynn - Happy Birthday to Jimmy. Have a great time at his party today. I'm sure it will be wonderful. :lovestruc

DisKim - Don't worry about Aiden not crawling yet. My daughters both had to have physical therapy when they were babies/toddlers b/c of a muscle condition and I remember the PT telling me that there is a wide range developmentally for babies crawling/walking etc. My oldes dd ended up never crawling b/c she hated it. :teeth: She scootched and then walked, but we couldn't get her to crawl hardly at all.

Nucpharm - I hope that you are having a wonderful time at WDW! :mickeyjum :smickey:

Ahutton - I hope that you feel better soon! :pixiedust

Tamie - Have fun with your neighbors tonight! Also, have fun when you go to WDW in a few weeks! You must be getting so excited! :tink:

Zalansky - How was your last day yesterday? I hope it went well. I was thinking of you yesterday and hoping that it wasn't too hard.

J&D - Glad to hear that your kitty is doing well. :cat:

Gems - How is Shelby doing? Is she sleeping better for you?

Disney Enthusiast - Let us know how you like your new Sequoia! How exciting. Also, have fun at Disney too! :sunny:

KarenTX - John Paul was a preemie too, but he didn't need to go into the NICU b/c he was a pretty good size. How is your baby now?

SL - That is wonderful that Lucas is scoocthing! :cheer2:

Justhat - I hope AZ was fun for you all. Sorry to hear that you had such a nasty man on your last flight. :guilty:

Tasha - Hi! I hope that your computer glitches work out so that you can post soon. :surfweb:

Valerie - Sending warm wishes that your headache goes away soon. :flower1:

Hi to SeeDisney and DisneyPhD and anyone else that I missed! :wave2:

I gotta run now. The weather is so nice that we have decided to go on a family walk. It is hard to believe that it is January with this 60 degree weather. :sunny: Have a great weekend everyone! (Can you tell that I like the new smilies? :upsidedow )

A bump - and GEMS - is Shelby doing better in the evenings? Let us know. I had one DD who had a brush with colic, and one who had reflux so I'm no stranger to long crying jags...

Bump? When did this thread ever need bumping? :goodvibes Most of us can't keep up with it as it is. :lmao: :thumbsup2

Hi to everyone! Hope everyone is doing well. Alice, I am so happy for you and your family! :yay:

We have been sick ever since coming home for FLA and I am a little sick of it. Oh well, hopefully I will be feeing better soon. Thankfully the kids haven't gotten it.

Lily has been walking around like mad ever since coming home. We went to the local libary today to get out of the house. She was running all over the place. It is funny, she is so quiet when she walks, she can sneak up on you really fast now.

I am very proud of her. It only took her 17 months! party: :tigger: :cheer2: :woohoo:

Good morning! The birthday party has come and gone, and everything went well. Jimmy seemed to enjoy himself as much as any 1 yr. old has ever enjoyed his first party. I am exhausted. I spent all day Friday running around, and spent yesterday working my butt off.

Jimmy does have 2 ear infections again (still?). He's taking Zythromax this time around but only for 3 days. He's still grabbing at his ears, though. I hope this wipes it out.

This is Jimmy in his bday outfit. He really loved the balloons attached to his high chair.

113_1359.jpg

This is Jimmy's cake. I ordered it from Redner's supermarket. That's where we got our wedding cake, too. It was delicious and the girl did a great job with the snowman.

113_1361.jpg

This is Eric the magician and my nephew. The magic show was great and everyone really seemed to like it.

113_1364.jpg

Jimmy and my dad.

Jimmy with a mouthfull of icing.

We did let Jimmy put his hands in his cake. He loved it! I have to get the pic from my mom of Jimmy with the icing all over his face. I think he still has some in his nose.

I have to get to work. I have so much wash to do and we're having friends come over to watch the Steelers this afternoon.

Hi Everyone

Just wanted to pop in and say Hi! :wave2: things are mad here , I'm trying to sort out my business and organise SHelby's baptism and things aren't going quite to plan!

Now I find that I am so far behind on this thread that I have to go back to page 185 to catch up!! :teeth:

Just noticed that it's Hillbean's birthday though - HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!! party:

I hope to catch up and check in later today ......I guess we'll see!

Hope everyone is well in the meantime!

Gems

Just another quick one to say thank you to those who have asked how Shelby is doing - she seems better - I think she has jut figured out how to get Mommy to come to her! so I don't think there's anything wrong except for an over tired baby!

Thanks for asking! :)

Lisawynn - Great pictures of Jimmy! His party looked like it was a lot of fun! :sunny:

Gems - Glad to hear that Shelby is doing better. Little babies are very good at figuring out how to get mommies to come to them! :teeth:

DisneyPhD - I hope you all feel better soon!

I'm starting to catch a cold which is a bummer b/c I don't want to give it to John Paul. Oh well...it was bound to happen sometime.

Everyone have a great day!

lissawynn- looks like Jimmy had a fab party! party: That's so great and he looks so cute. Hard to believe he's one!

Gems- glad Shelby is not sick and that you are doing ok too.

I am the proud owner of a new Tribeca! We got it yesterday after seeing a great deal in the paper. It's not EXACTLY what we wanted, but we're fixing that- we wanted the leather seats, but we didn't want the DVD & GPS systems (another $5K on the tab). So, we are able to take the car back in next week and they will reupholster the seats in leather. Cool. It's soooooo nice finally having a 7 passenger car and it's truly a fabulous ride. If you've ever driven a Subaru, you know what I mean with the AWD and low center of gravity. Driving home last night from dinner I seriously felt like we were flying! :tink: :ccat:

These new smilies rock!

We are adjusted pretty well to having Daddy home again. He is still kinda tired and adjusting to civilian life. We went to our favorite, Benihana, last night and he said this morning that although he knows Benihana is loud and crazy, it was bothering him a little bit last night. I just said, I thought so, and let's just CHILL OUT today. No running around. It's draining buying a car, and plus his mom is here. She leaves today. No comments there- I don't even feel like spending the energy on it.

Anyway, I just wanted to check in and say  . Take care everyone!

Hi everyone! I hope everyone is having a great weekend. I was very industrious today. I went food shopping at 7:30 am! It was great. It was empty and I didn't have to take the kids. I saw a friend of mine who was also pregnant last year (she was and aide in my school). She quit and is now home with her DD. It made me feel bad. I'm sure I don't need to rehash my working issues. I'm happy for her though.

lissawynn - I'm glad Jimmy's party went well. He is too cute. I love the picture with the icing. My DH started a tradition when our first turned one. He makes a small cake for the birthday child and he/she gets to mash up the whole thing. It drives my FIL nuts because he is practical and thinks it's wasteful. It's so cute though!

jill - I'm so glad that insurance is covering JP's next shot :thumbsup2

Alice28 - Congratulations on the new car and on DH being officially home.

Is it ridiculous that the new smilies really tug at me and make me miss Disney? I don't think I'll make it this year without a trip. I have to just start keeping myself occupied by planning a trip for next year. I'm thinking next summer when Aidan is 2. Can you imagine?? Two years old?? I don't even want to think about it.

Well, time for laundry.

Hi all!

The new smilies are very funny. I have to make this a quick check in. I'm doing a marathon cleaning and laundry spree while DH and Tyler are going to the hospital to visit my FIL. The faster I clean, the longer I get to soak in the tub.

ok - bye ;) sorry, the tub sounds tempting!!

lissawynn - the party looks like so much fun! I love the cake too, adorable. I can't believe Jimmy is 1. First birthday parties are so sweet. I hope you get some rest today. Poor Jimmy and his ears. I hope he feels better soon.

alice - Congrats on the new vehicle! woo hoo!! I can't imagine what shock it is for your husband to go from Iraq to Benihana! Quite a difference.

diskim - kudos to you for getting your shopping done so early. It makes you feel so motivated when you do stuff like that and get it done without stressing yourself out.

jill - great news on the shots! I hope you don't end up getting a major cold!

gem - Glad to hear Shelby is doing better.

DisneyPHd - Sorry to hear you are sick! I hate winter and the colds it brings! Feel better.

OK - off to finish cleaning. I need to switch laundry and go clean Tyler's bathtub, I just noticed it wasn't looking to pretty!

I'm sure I'll talk to you all tomorrow, I just can't stay away from this place!

:hmghost: :donald: :dumbo: :ccat: :tigger: :sulley:

lissawynn - Love the pics...Jimmy is so cute. My DH went to Babies R Us for diapers and came home with the same crown & outfit for Aidan's 1st Birthday. Mind you he's not even 6 mos yet, but he didn't want them to sell out. I'm afraid it wont fit though, because Aidan has a really big head. Glad the party was a success.

Hi to all the other mommies!

I just wanted to thank all of you for wishing Jimmy a happy (almost) birthday. I cannot believe he will be a year old on Tuesday. This past year has flown by and it's been so wonderful to have all of you here to talk to, share stories, exchange ideas, and just gripe when I've had a hard day. I do consider you all my friends!

Alice - I am very jealous of your new ride. I would trade in my Tahoe tomorrow for the Tribeca. Maybe next year. DH will not buy a car during the first model year, too many problems, or so he thinks. You'll have to show us some pics. Also, I'm so happy for you and your kids that your DH is home. You'll have to share your MIL stories when you're up to it!

DisKim - We were going to wait until Jimmy was almost 3 until our next WDW trip. Then my sister started talking about it after Christmas. Now we're booking our airline tickets and are leaving in 182 days! I want my dad to experience WDW with his grandsons. I think he's going to love it, and I'm hoping Jimmy will have some memories of our trip. :tink:

bellacam - I bought Jimmy the biggest crown they had. Jimmy has a big noggen, too.

tykes - I hope you got the tub clean and the laundry done. I have about 10 more loads to go until my wash is finished.

jill - I hope you're feeling better. We can't seem to shake the creeping crud at my house this year.

gems - I hope Shelby is well!

I'm off the clean up the football party dishes. Night all!

Lisawynn,
Happy Birthday to Jimmy tomorrow!! I'm so happy for you that your party went well. The cake is very cute. The birthday boy is very cute too :) .

Robin,
Enjoy the new ride! I hope you are enjoying your time with DH. When does MIL leave ;) ?

JIll,
I hope the shot goes well! :)

Tamie,
Hope the cleaning was quick and the bath was heavenly :cloud9: .

Gems,
I think Katrina is up to the same tricks with the crying lately. She knows how to get mommy running ;) .

Bridget,
I was LOL when I read your "busty" comment too :teeth: . Hope you had a good weekend.

DisneyPhd,
Glad your trip went well. Yay for Lily walking! :cheer2:

Hillbeans,
Happy Belated Birthday :cheer2: !

Hi to everyone else  !

Hello,
Sorry I have been MIA but I am now officially sick (again :rolleyes2 ). I usually never get sick so this is really a pain in the butt. I'm blaming it on lack of sleep. Maybe that will guilt DH into giving me a nap once in a while ;) . He has been working straight through weekends though so that probably won't happen. Tonight he's off but he's going to a basketball game with some friends. I think I'll talk him into getting up with the kids tomorrow morning so I can sleep in until 8.

We have another stinking snow day here. DS is driving me batty. And Katie, my sweet baby who never whines or cries, has been non-stop fussing lately. I think she figured out if she fusses enough I'll pick her up. But then when I do pick her up she squirms and fusses because she doesn't want to be held. So I put her down and she screams because she doesn't want to be alone  . I'm ready for Calgon to take me away :rolleyes1 .
