ryleesmom--welcome! In my previous life as a full time employee out of the home, I worked as a nuclear pharmacist--meaning we made all the radioactive iodine capsules for treatment of thyroid cancer. If you need any additional info I'll get you all I can. Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers :grouphug:

Michelle--Welcome to you as well

OMGoodness! You miss a few days on this thread and you get so far behind! I can't remember everything I just read as I was really far behind so I will just touch on what I do remember!

Welcome ryleesmom and DisneyMommyMichelle! I have added Lucy and Gabriel (as well as Autumn-Verona) to our b-day list. Nothing fancy or special about the list, but it's nice to have a reminder of babies' b-days on this thread every now and then. Good luck with the radiation, ryleesmom! I have known a couple of people that have had to have it done and it's tough to be away from your family that long but so worth it to take care of the disease!

Jill~ No advice as Kylie has always been a great sleeper for the most part. We did go through a period where she wanted to stay up really late and then sleep all day the next day so we decided to break her of that by putting her to bed early and letting her cry it out. It was a lifesaver but we waited until she was about 3.5 months to do it. And I hear you about the binky! Kylie actually didn't want to take one at first. We are guilty of purposefully giving her one to help soothe her. I want to have her off of it by the time she is 1 but since that is now less than 4 months away I am not sure that will be easy. We may end up waiting a little longer if it turns into a huge ordeal!

vald~ Aw, Katrina has grown so much! What a cutie. I had my ears pierced at 9 months. I was at one time thinking about getting Kylie's pierced around then too but that's only a month away and I am still undecided about it. I did not realize pediatricians did this. I will have to check with mine next month at Kylie's 9 month checkup. I am not sure where else would be the best place to get it done. I just found out last night that we are taking our (new) church's family photo for the directory this Thurs. night and now I wish I would have checked with her pediatrician last month at her checkup b/c I think it would be so cute to have her ears pierced fo this photo! Oh,well.

joats~ Kylie can't eat the chicken or meats without gagging or vomiting either. Unfortunately we have had some major struggles when it comes to solids. She was 6.5 months before she finally started to enjoy eating any type of baby food. She was over 7 months before she started finishing a jar of the stage 1. We tried moving up to stage 2s and at first she gagged on those so we put it off a couple of weeks and tried again. Now she can eat them but still prefers stage 1s. We tried giving her cheerios and gerber puffs. And I broke them up into about 5 pieces each so they were extremely tiny pieces and she would choke on them until I either had to get it out of her mouth or she'd throw up! She has a terrible gag reflex and just cannot eat any type of table food or protein type food yet. Dh also had this problem as a baby according to his mom and couldn't eat table foods until he was over a year! And he still has a hard time taking pills so he hasn't completely outgrown that. Oh, and the only time we have had major diaper leaks was when we tried switching to the Pampers Cruisers. They leaked EVERY night. We switched back to the Pampers Baby Dry and haven't had a problem since thankfully!

Alice~ Sorry about your kidney stones! :( But yay that your dh is in Kuwait! Not much longer now! :hyper:

Hi to everyone else!

Well, wouldn't it figure that after I went through that whole ordeal of exchanging the tylenol last week that Kylie wouldn't even need it! She now has both top teeth coming in. The one that gave her so much grief has broken through finally so she is not irritable or feverish anymore thankfully. The other one is nearly there and doesn't seem to be bothering her so far. So now she will have 4 teeth, my cute little beaver! :teeth:

Friday night I treated her head with baby oil to try to get rid of the cradle cap. It worked but since she has so much hair you can only imagine how much fun it was trying to get that greasy feeling and look out of it! I washed her hair 2 times Friday night before she went to bed but Saturday morning it was still really greasy so I ended up washing it 3 more times on Saturday and once on Sunday. And I am talking major washing...whole handfuls of shampoo for a little baby scalp each time! But hey, her hair is clean now and no more cradle cap! :goodvibes

She has started to pull up on the couch here and is getting better at standing each time. I don't know whether to be excited or not b/c she is already able to get into everything now that she can crawl. I literally cannot leave her for 2 seconds anymore! I can only imagine how she will be when she starts walking. She is way too curious for her own good, lol! But of course I am still excited, crazy mommy that I am! ;)

Well, we have to go shopping this week. Then we have church Wed. night. Thurs. night we have our directory photos. And Friday dh will FINALLY have his toe surgery! On Friday, the 13th no less! :scared: Wish us luck that it is a success. We were invited to a get-together thing at the house of one of the couples we go to church with that night but it's only a few hours after dh's surgery and he doesn't think he will be up to it so we aren't planning to go.

That's all that's new here. It will probably be another few days before I can get back on here to post again (although I do try to lurk and catch up on posts when I get the chance) since Kylie keeps me busy now and I need to clean my house (another thing that is harder these days b/c of Kylie's newfound mobility!). Hope you all have a great week!

Thanks for the good wishes.

llij- We just finished our basement, which has an extra bedroom and bathroom. That may be where I end up. My only concern is with my 2 1/2 year old. She is such a mommy's girl, she will bugging to get downstairs with me.

nucpharm29 - Any information you could give me would be great. I am really confused about everything. The doctor I see does not give great information and really doesn't answer my questions.

I also have a question, for any of the moms who have more than one child. My 2 1/2 is copying a lot of what the baby does and it is driving me crazy. She will make crying noise when the baby cries, when I do tummy time with Lucy she wants me to put her on her tummy, and she also wants to use a pacifer, even though she never has used one ( I refuse to let her start now). Any suggestions on what to do?

Tasha,
Thanks for taking the time to keep our list for us :) . We have a lot of mommies and babies on this thread now. Kylie must look so cute with her teeth :teeth: . Sending good vibes for your dh's toe surgery :goodvibes .

Ryleesmom,
Welcome and congratulations on the birth of your Lucy :flower: . You will be in my prayers as you undergo your treatment  .

Disneymommymichelle,
Welcome and congrats on the birth of your Gabriel :flower: ! I love both of your kid's names! They are both names I considered (of course when I decided on Autumn I had a DS and Gabriel was a name we considered for dd had she been a boy ;) ).

Bellacam,
Wow! The boardwalk is probably my dream place to stay at WDW. I hope you guys have a great time with the planning!

Tamie,
Good luck with your dinner tonight. I hope it's not too awkward.

My head is just spinning this afternoon. I have too much information to process right now. One of my bf found out her husband has been having a relationship with another woman for quite some time now. Then, I found out another friend's husband cheated on her. She's in denial. She knew about the first friend's husband but never bothered to tell her. Yikes!

Welcome to ryleesmom and disneymommichelle! Good thoughts your way. :grouphug:

I have papers to grade. Not that I'll be concentrating on them...

ryleesmom sending you  I'm sure there are lot's of people who will support you during this time. Remember to ask for the help you need. keep us posted.

Ryleesmom--I'll get some info together and pm you with it later. I also have a 2 year old and a new baby (2 months) She was fine when we brought Matthew home from the hospital, but now she's kind of acting out. She wants to be held all the time. She comes up to me "Mommy hold me" (to be read in a really whiny voice) And she wants to play with all the baby toys instead of all the big girl stuff she has. Go figure that she would rather play with the floor mat/gym thing than her Disney dress up clothes! I hear that they grow out of this stage--I hope it's sooner than later.

Well, I have spent WAY too much time on here today. DH is back working 14 hr days, so during naptimes I play computer. DH and I are considering buying into DVC, so I've been doing research--any thoughts?? I guess I should start thinking about dinner. Have a great evening!

Oh, I just remembered--I have some girl 1st birthday invites that we never used (never ended up inviting any of DD's friends). If anyone is interested I can post a pic, and then ship them out to whoever wants them!

valerie - Katrina is gorgeous. Those eyes!!

Welcome Autumn and congrats on Lucy. You'll be in my thoughts as you go through treatment. {{hugs}}

bellacam - OH I'm sooo jealous! A grand villa at the boardwalk. How cool!

hi disneymommichelle - welcome

tasha - thanks for keeping up the list, it's great! Congrats to Kylie on her teeth. No sign of Tyler's top ones yet.

lissawynn - sorry to hear your friends news. That would be so shocking! I can't even imagine.

Well, no dinner with my FIL tonight. The whole reason that DH and him were together was so my DH could take him to the hospital for a Dr. appt. (he's not from around here and wanted someone to take him). They are still at the Dr. getting a bunch of tests done and DH called to say they won't be here by dinnertime.

I am making a scrapbook for my mom for her birthday that I need to get done. I should have a little bit of time to work on it tonight. I also need to start getting ready for this weekend. I'm throwing DH a masters graduation party on Saturday. It's just an open house, but I'm expecting about 40 people. It should be a lot of fun.

gotta run!

tamie

Hi ladies! I'm actually getting work done today. The best news is that Jimmy slept the entire night in his crib! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
The bad news is that I was still tired when I woke up this morning. I guess we all need a few days to get back on schedule.

We are booking our WDW trip today! I am so excited to be going with my dad and "his boys"! I can't wait to see how Jimmy reacts this time around. Almost a year older than his last trip, it should be interesting. I'm just hoping he doesn't wear me out.

I hope everyone is having a good afternoon.

Just checking in to say hi!

Trying to get things done today, although it's hard. I'm so anxious, I could barf! I have to go to the restaurant we're having his homecoming party at to sign the contract- meant to do that last Friday, but got a little tied up in my excruciating pain and all.

SO JEALOUS of those you planning Disney trips. I'll just have to be happy with my new car I guess! :teeth: If Disney does another salute the troops ticket dealie, we'll definitely at least go to DL. I don't understand why they won't do that again; Busch Gardens and SeaWorld have been really generous with that.

Anyway, I need to eat something and get dressed. Molly actually fell asleep in her crib last night with only 5 minutes of crying! But then woke up about midnight, but it was progress! :cool1:

Probably won't write much until I have some PICTURES to post of DH and us! Yay! Heading to Ft Lewis in about 26 hours or so...

yeah jimmy and molly for sleeping and YEAH Robin for getting to see her husband soon!!!!!!!

robin, i'm sure you said this before, how long has it been since you've seen him?

tamie

Alice28--I know how excited you must be!! :cool1: :cool1: Have a great reunion!

Well, it's after lunch time and we're still in our pjs. It's comfy day around our house. We got some bad news this morning. DH's step-granpa was admitted to the hospital again (3rd time in as many months) :sad1: Apparently, he's bleeding internally. They are going to try to stop the bleeding with medication but if that doesn't work he'll have to have surgery. DMIL says that if he has to have surgery he probably won't make it b/c of all of his other medical conditions. They aren't optimistic; DH is already looking at options to travel for the funeral. We'll just have to wait and see.

Hope everyone's day is going well. We actually have a day of sunshine, finally! :sunny: Unfortunately, the clouds are coming back tonight. I need to run outside and soak up all I can!

Congratulations and welcome to ryleesmommy and DisneyMommyMichelle!! :flower: :flower:

vald - Gorgeous pictures of Katrina! She's beautiful!

nucpharm - I know I'm a little slow, but I finally realized what your username "means". LOL :) So sorry to hear about your DH's step-grandfather.

Tasha - Congrats on Kylie's new teeth. :teeth:

lissawynn - Good luck booking your trip!

llij - I hope John Paul starts sleeping better for you.

tamie - Funny you should mention scrapbooking. My friend talked me into trying it and we're going shopping tonight to pick up some supplies. I printed out a bunch of black & white photos to do something artsy with. Good luck with yours!

Alice28 - You must be beside yourself! It's so close now!!

I haven't seen DH since April 21st of last year. He was home for two weeks in April and that's the ONLY time he's seen Miss Molly. Not to mention the boys have changed so much.

I just got back from Target to buy myself some supplies for the road trip tomorrow and needed some 'feminine' items. Stopped at the place where we're having his party to sign the contract, grabbed some to go food and now I am POOPED. This stent thing SUCKS. It's not painful, just very uncomfortable- I want to yank it out. :scared1:

Alice28 - Yea for you being able to see your DH soon! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: I hope that you feel better soon too! When does your stent come out?

Nucpharm - Sorry to hear about your DH's step-grandfather. :worried: I'm sending prayers your way.

Lisawynn - Yea for Jimmy sleeping and for booking your trip! :goodvibes After our last trip to WDW, I thought that I would be satisfied with not going for awhile, but I am having major Disney withdrawals. :earsgirl: It doesn't help that I keep seeing those WDW commercials (with Kelsey Grammer narrating and Walt himself in the commercial). I miss it!

Tamie - Enjoy scrapbooking! :sunny:

Tasha - That is great that Kylie is getting more teeth and that her fever is gone. :teeth:

John Paul slept so much better last night. He actually went 5 hours between one of his feedings at night. He did wake up once b/c he wanted his binky so I only had to get up at 1, 3 and 5:30 a.m. Not too shabby for him! :flower:

I start my grad classes again next week and I am a little worried that I will be too tired to be able to keep up with school. I'm starting to wish that I took this semester off as well, but I really need to finish up this program. Oh well! I'll keep wishing for more sleep.

I'm off to "Let's Dish" in a little bit. It is this really neat place where you pick 8 to 12 meals to make for your family. They have all the ingredients and items there for you at different stations. All you need to do is show up and prepare your meals. I usually do it with a bunch of friends so it is a lot of fun and I get lots of meals for my family made...even better....no clean up! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Have a great evening everyone! :sunny:

jill - I've heard of Let's Dish. It sounds great. It would be so nice to have some dinners prepared ahead of time.

speaking of food - does anyone have a good punch recipe (nonalcoholic) that isn't red? I don't want red punch for the kids on Saturday.

Alice, that's such a long time!!

That let's dish thing sounds soooo cool!

Stent comes out Thursday.....can't wait!

Punch idea that I Love-------1 can pineapple juice (already made, not concentrate); 1 can frozen lemonade; 1 2 ltr bottle of 7up. Yummy & refreshing!

Hi everyone! I haven't had time to post for a while. The family portrait went well on Sunday but it was tiring! We didn't get out of the mall until an hour after it closed! Aidan is in an "I'm not going to take a nap but I'm giong to make you miserable" mood today. I had a fun day today. I had a workshop where I learned self defense and how to break up fights in school. We got to role play and pretend to beat each other up. Well, I'm going to go try and catch up on this thread. It just moves way too fast!

I only have a few min. b/c Kylie is making typing difficult (and dh has to work late tonight and won't be able to help me with her) but I am excited about this latest development and thought I'd share!

Tamie, wasn't it you that said Tyler had started giving sloppy kisses? I think it was. Anyway, I am excited b/c Kylie started doing that today too! Of course it is a game to her though. I will give her a big kiss on the cheek with lots of sound effects and she will giggle. Then I will turn my cheek to her and she will give me a big wet kiss on my cheek as well (sort of like sucking my cheek almost but not quite!) with little baby sounds and will giggle afterwards. It's hilarious and very cute! Noone could have prepared me 8 months ago for how much fun being a mom would be or how much I would love it! :)

Oh, and Tamie, I don't know the recipe for it unfortunately but my mom makes a really great green punch with lime sherbert in it. It's always a hit! Maybe you could look something up online. Good luck!

Hi moms! I only have a couple of minutes because I am off to a meeting tonight. Every time I have tried to get on the DIS today I kept getting the server is busy message  .

Tamie,
I have heard of the punch recipe Robin mentioned. It sounds yummy. I've also seen with orange juice added in too. I don't blame you for not wanting to serve red punch to kids in your house ;) .

Tasha,
Those kisses sound so precious!

Robin,
When do you get the stent out? It sounds awful. I'll be thinking of you tomorrow. Please post when you have a chance :) .

Diskim,
I'm glad the picture went well but I can only imagine trying to entertain three kids in the photo studio wasn't such fun. The self defense class sounds really fun :) .

Jill,
I would love to do a cooking seminar like that! It sounds great. Unfortunately, my dh and ds are such picky eaters I would prob. have to eat it all myself :teeth: .

Hi to all that I missed  !

Dh just got his test results back from his second try at his post vas. testing. They said the numbers are decreasing but he is still "active" :( . He should have been more than clear by now. So now he has a minimum of two more tests to take. If the next one comes back still active then I think I will ask him to go back and see the dr. because this doesn't seem right. Otoh, it does explain how I get pg so easily if his little swimmers are this determined :rotfl: .
